Arthur nodded, beginning to wonder if Raven was to use her magic for good or evil. He supposed if she was truly evil she would have visited the brother hood rather than the Guild.
"Then Lady Raven, I accept you into the Guild. You will train with Merlin as soon as you wish. You are dismissed."

Arthur sat beside the throne, playing with the hem of his jacket absent mindedly. It had started to fray and he was having great fun trying to remove all of the loose threads. His father had been wittering on about a visiting princess and the politics between their kingdoms for some time now, but all Arthur had heard so far was "blah blah blah".
"And I would like you Arthur, to take up the honour of showing Princess Isotta around Camelot." Uther finished. At this Arthur's ears pricked up. He hadnt expected to have to do anything when this princess arrived, but now he had to show her around? Last time that hadn't quite gone to plan...
Before he really had time to protest though, a loud voice announced the Princess' arrival and Arthur was forced to remain silent, and rise with the rest of court. "Princess Isotta of Iwernia!"
Another snotty, brat of a princess Arthur thought, as he waited for her to reach the back of the hall. He expected she would have the trailing curls, over the top dress and daddies-girl attitude that every other foreign princess seemed to wear, and dreaded having to spend the next few hours- or even days- with her.
As Isotta finally graced the throne though, Arthur was pleasantly surprised. She was dressed simply rather than overdoing it with frills and lace, and her hair was tied back neatly. Despite her conservative attire though, Isotta was a thing of beauty- a porcelain doll with hair of fire. Arthur had never met someone whose hair had sucj a hue, and he was intrigued to know what magic had made it that way.
As she curtsied before him- to just the right height of course- Isotta smiled, and Arthur found himself warming to her already. He was used to girls fluttering eyelids or scowling at him, and to see a friendly smile was a pleasant change.
Arthur somehow found himself hoping that Isotta found him as likeable as he did she.

Accepted! You know the drill, so feel free to post when you wish. My only question is why you chose Tintagel? I know the castle in Cornwall England is linked to Tristan and Isolde, but if she is from Ireland would she not have a different name? (i don't actually have a problem with it, just wondered so don't feel you have to change it or anything!)

Arthur had met Lady Raven before and had always found her to be an intriguing, although not unpleasant, girl. He hadn't recognised her until now, but once again she puzzled him with a strange question: Why did his father hate Cornwall so much?
He paused trying to fathom an answer to the question but before he had even a chance to reply a tribe of strange demons appeared between him and Raven, blocking her from site almost altogether. Arthur leapt up from his chair, nearly knocking it over in the process and reached for his sword, but no sooner has his hand gripped the hilt, did the troop of demons disappear.
Ever so slightly embarrassed, Arthur returned to his seat and cleared his throat. "Very good." He said, "But you have not yet described why you wish to join the Guild, or which band of magic you wish to train in." He looked up and met the girls eyes. "Answer me those and I can enrol you officially".

The drink tasted a bit funny, but Arthur just assumed it was the honeysuckle that Isabelle had added to the mixture. He drank the cupful down and handed the empty vessel back to the stable girl without actually looking at her face. He hoped it really did promoto energy- he could always use a little more of that before a ride.
"Thank you so much." He said, still not looking at the girl, preferring instead to fiddle with the saddle he had just fitted. The straps were a little loose and having had experience with loose hardware (thanks to Merlin) Arthur was now perhaps a little too careful about securing such things.
"The drink was most refreshing but I really must be..." Arthur trailed off as he looked up, straight into the eyes of...his horse.
"Why, what a beautiful creature you are!" He exclaimed suddenly, gripping the horse on both sides of its face and pulling it closer. "Your eyes, why they are like pools of crystal in a dark nights sky! And your coat, well I have never seen one so shiny!"
Isabelles plan had apprently failed. Instead of noticing her, he only had eyes for his horse!

Arthur walked into the enrollment office with rather an air of excitement. Merlin had been called away on urgent business somewhere and Arthur had been asked to step in and keep things ticking over while he was gone. He didn't know very much about magic, but he sort of hoped that this stint might teach him something at least.
Unfortunately though, it seemed he was going to have quite a lot of work on his hands, for no sooner had he entered the office, he noticed that two girls were already waiting for acceptance into the guild. Did Arthur really have what it took to tell if a magician was eligible?
"M'ladies," He said, swooping behind the desk Merlin usually sat at and leafing through a reem of paper. "I apologise for the delay but Merlin has been called away on urgent business and I have been asked to manage things in his absence. I hope you have not been waiting too long?" He found the forms he was looking for, which were very similar to the ones he used in the Army recruitment office, and began to pass them out.
"Just fill in your name, your desire to join the mages and the type of magic you wish to train in." He read from one of the forms with a smile. "Oh and when you're done, i'll just require a quick demonstration..." His smile faded and he began to doubt whether he really was the man for this job...

Arthur arrived at the stables to find himself being greeted by a new stable hand. He rarely took notice of anything but his horse when he went riding, but today the new face surprised him, especially when he found her offering him a drink before he rode.
"Erm, no thank you, I'm quite alright at the moment. Perhaps when I return from my ride?" He replied to the young girl and began to saddle his horse for the day. As he did so he started to feel bad. Should he have taken the drink just to be polite? Had he upset her by refusing?
"I'm sorry!" He blurted out, turning around and grabbing the cup out of Isabelle's hand. "I didnt mean to refuse your kind offer, it just took me by surprise!" With that Arthur took a long drink from the cup. And then Merlin came round the corner...

Arthur rolled his eyes and shook his head. Gaius insisted that this brown, smelly concoction was going to help "his troubles" but all Arthur thought that it might do was induce vomiting.
"His troubles" as Gaius so kindly put it, were not actually troubles at all, but just a feeling that something terrible was brewing somewhere. Camelot had been at peace for some time now, with no monsters or attackers. It even seemed that the dreaded brotherhood had backed off, but Arthur couldn't help but feel that this was just the lull before the storm.
Uther said that the gut feeling must be the result of overworking and had sent him off to the castle physician with a couple of his men for company. He had only just managed to convice them to wait outside the tiny room that he now sat in.
In his eyes, these gut feelings were a symbol of a good king. Unlike his father he was on edge, ready for attack at any time instead of revelling in the castle with his friends, drinking and eating until they were too full to walk. What kind of use would he be if...when they were attacked?
The door in front of mflew open and Arthur looked up expecting to see Gaius hobbling in, but the person before him was not half so old nor grey.
"Can i help you?" He asked, frowning.

Arthur grabbed his riding boots from behind the door of his chamber and sunk into the chair by his bed. He was looking forward to a days hunting, something that he had missed through the harsh winter they had just had and as he pulled his boots on, he wondered where on earth Merlin had got to.
He was often late to work because of Gaius' chores and he usually arrived flustered and red faced. Arthur took great pride in his appearance and was sure he would never understand how someone could go out in public looking like Merlin did!
Boots on, Arthur grabbed his scarlet riding jacket from the back of his chair and on his way out of the door caught sight of his reflection. "Why Arthur you handsome devil!" he declared out loud.

Arthur blood was boiling. Had it been possible, he would have sworn that steam was about to pour from his ears.
"Don't. Push. Your. Luck." He hissed at the child before him. Mentioning the brotherhood had been the last straw. How did Chase know about them? Had they been canvassing the streets, telling anyone who would listen? Or was Chase part of it all?
Ha! Arthur thought to himself. As if this fool could be part of an organistation as secret and infamous as the Brotherhood! No, he was bluffing and pretending to be more important than he was. That was nothing new.
"My father would have you arrested for the rude and arrogant manner in which you speak to a member of his family." Arthur replied as a last thought. "I don't expect you to listen to me, nor do I care if you choose to. It is simply a warning."
With that Arthur turned on his heel, walking away before he knocked the insolent boy to the floor. But the words that Chase spoke as Arthur walked away left a nasty taste in his mouth. Was there more to Chase than met the eye?
