Name: Alys Achard (Alys is pronounced as 'Alice', Alys is an earlier form of the name).
Age: 36.
Sex: Female.
Class: Nobility.
Appearance: Standing at five foot four, with a weight of 130 pounds, Alys is a well-fed, slim woman with an average build. Her most unforgettable feature has to be her carrot-red hair, that contrasts sharply with her murky green eyes and pale skin, marked with a small mole (Or as she calls it, a beauty mark) on her neck. Pretty in a elf-like way, Alys' full lips contrast with her overly round chin.
Alys wears simple, albeit regal clothes, ranging from silk to damask, in a bright array of jewel tone colours, although her styles are slightly behind the times. Unless she is at court, Alys forgoes the jewels, and lets her hair down, as she finds this more comfortable.
--Miss Alys is played by the marvelous Cate Blanchett!
Character: Alys, in short, is obedient and loyal to her family, friends, and more importantly, King. She fears punishment, and skits away from any dangerous situations, making it hard for her to make and keep friends, as she refuses to help them out if her alarm bells go off.
Beneath that, Alys is actually quite willful, and always fights for her own way when dealing with servants and her parents. If she knows someone well, Alys will always try to talk them out of something that she feels is stupid, and dangerous. These 'talks' usually work, as Alys is very persuasive when she wants to be.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths:
- Hard-headed
- Persuasive
- Loyal
- Sense of justice
Weaknesses:
- Shy, misses out on a lot due to fear of punishment
- Easily intimidated
- Likes to blend in
- Unsure of herself
Magic: None at all!
Weaponry Skills: Alys wouldn't touch weapons even if someone paid her.
Character History: Alys was born in Camelot to Lady Sybil and Lord Henry Achard, and when Alys was a little girl, her mother, Sybil would spin elaborate stories of evil wizards, spells, castles, dragons, and fey, entrancing the young Alys and forever giving her a love of magic. Her father, Achard, was a cautious Lord, who was always on the lookout for treasonous plots, thieves, and avoiding going to war. As Alys grew older, she spent more and more time with her father instead of her mother, thus letting him drill his own beliefs into her.
As she grew up, Alice kept to herself, avoiding most people, save her parents. Although she became slight detached from her dear mother. Alys stays in Camelot only as she sees it as a duty to her parents, who wish her to find a good husband and raise a family, even though Alys has no desire to marry, or stay in Camelot, she would much rather be out traveling.
Additional Information: None.
Sample Roleplay: Looking up from her book, Alys rubbed her eyes lazily, yawning as she was dragged out of her dreamland of paper and ink, she was right in the middle of her story too! Granted, she knew it by heart, as her mother had read it to her since she was a baby, and the pages we well-worn by now.
Closing the book, she ran a long-fingered hand over the cover, smiling softly as she stood, smoothing her gown down before leaving the book carelessly on her chair. Stretching, Alys once again yawned, lowering her arms and tugging down the tight sleeves as she walked towards the lone window in her chamber, placing her hands on the cold stone of the sill and peering out of the glass.
It seemed to be a perfect day, the early-morning sun shone down on the courtyard, the sky was blue, people were milling about, gossiping, bringing food into the palace, servants were running errands, it seemed that everyone was outside. Save herself.
To Alice, the day was marred by the prospect of things going wrong. A horse could escape, a pickpocket could strike, the food coming in could be going bad! Shaking her head at such thoughts, Alys took a deep breath, placing a hand on her forehead, attempting to calm herself.
"Come now, Alys!" She chided herself, turning away from the window with an exasperated sigh, shutting her eyes. Trailing her hand along the wall, Alys blindly found her way to the door of her chamber, opening her eyes as she pulled open the door, resting her head along the frame.
It was time to start her day.
