Adela watched the boy write down what she had said "Nice to meet you Adela I'm Merlin" He gave her a friendly smile. Adela thought that he was trying to be friendly but then she put 2 things together. Now that Adela knew this was Merlin she was even more worried. "Would you be able to give me a small demonstration of your magic? I don't expect anything massive, as I understand that you're a beginner, but I need to be sure you have a natural gift." Adela felt the color drain from her face, now MERLIN wanted to see a demonstration, great. Adela didn't know what to do, she thought back to when she was with her father. Her horse had been stabbed and she fell to the ground, there were men sounding them. Her father had been hit and he fell off his horse and the guards were being picked off one by one. She was scared, and as she saw people fall. Somewhere in the back of her mind she saw the knights being carried away by a wind storm, then the world turned golden for a fraction of a second and what she saw in her mind happened in front of her. Was that her trigger, she needed to see it before it happened? Worth a try. Adela thought hard she held out her hand and a ball of wind was there, there was the same flash of gold and the ball of wind was really there it span round and round for a few seconds and then it stopped. "I don't know how I did that"[/u]

Merlin watched quietly as the girl before him concentrated hard to access her magic. He knew this was the hardest part for new mages; performing on demand was not something that magic always complied with.
Soon however, the girl's eyes flashed a familiar golden colour, and a small ball of wind appeared in her palm. It was small, yet Merlin could feel the breeze in his hair, and he slid his hand over the parchment on the desk to stop it fluttering away.
"Well done Adela." he nodded at the girl when it had disappeared. She looked confused at the magic she had just performed. "I'd be happy to accept you into the Guild. You can begin your training as soon as you wish."

"I'd be happy to accept you into the Guild. You can begin your training as soon as you wish." Adela thought her ears had deceived her. Her mind playing tricks on her. But Merlin's warm smile told her that she was not wrong. Adela held in her excitement and said "Thank you very much Merlin, it was truly an honor." Adela calmly walked out of the room and it wasn't until she was safely down the hall until she screamed.

Legend took a deep breath and walked threw the door. His gift had been discovered in his home town of Avalon. Upon this new and fascinating power Legend began to wounder if there was more to his strange power. Hearing of the magician Merlin he moved to Camelot - and now as he stood in front of the door to the enrollment office he began to have second thoughts. I'm already here and I'm not going back, he told himself confidently. He gazed around the room and spotted another person in the room. He guessed it was Merlin. We walked slowly over and introduced himself. "Hello, my name is Legend Filikan and..." he decided to show Merlin instead of explain. He saw a book about Magic not to far a way. Concentrating hard he stared at it and it flew into his hand. He smiled in a friendly way and held the book out to Merlin.

"Pleased to meet you Legend..." Merlin replied to the man's greeting, extending a hand to shake but withdrawing it quickly as a book flew across the room into Legend's hand. Merlin took the offered book from him with a grin. "I assume you wish to register with the Guild." He placed the book on the desk beside him and began filling out the customary form. Legend's display of magic seemed to be telekinetic, but Merlin didn't like to assume.
"And which band of magic to you wish to train in?" He asked.

Legend thought for a moment. He had heard of the different kinds of magic before. Before he had found out of his skill he had found interest in the art of White Magic. "If it's alright I'd like to learn White Magic?" To him White Magic was amazing and he had been wanting to check out a book in Avalon on it, but there was nothing on that topic. He was glad now that he might learn it!

"Of course." Merlin replied with a smile. White magic was very useful to the kingdom, and many of the White Guild Magician's were awarded high positions in the court when they achieved the position of mage.

Legend couldn't stop the grin that formed on his lips. He said, "Where might the other magicians be, I would really like to meet them." Legend knew there had to be more magicians at Camelot besides Merlin and himself. He wanted to learn their names and a little about them. Perhaps even become their friend.

Merlin considered Legend's question. "Well, many of the accomplished magicians can be found here at the Guild, but you see, Guild training can take place anywhere in the kingdom, so training magicians can be found all over the place. There are the druids, who live in the forests that surround Camelot. They don't train through the Guild, but they are all with magic..." Merlin smiled reassuringly, "I'm sure you'll meet some of the fellow magicians on your travels around Camelot, sorry I can't be more specific!"

Legend grinned. "It's alright, while I'm out I'll take a look around, get to know the castle." Now that he knew that there were other magicians at Camelot he was curious to meet them, who and where ever they may be. "Thank you for your help, Merlin." Legend said with another keen smile. With a soft nod followed by another 'thanks', Legend left the room to go in search of the other magicians.

Aurich smoothed the shoulders of his cloak then walked into the office. He coughed as he inhaled some dust particles, and walked towards the desk. He peered in the fading sunlight to see if anyone was around, and didn't see anyone. He looked at the window, and realized how grimy it was. He conjured five considerable bubbles of water on his fingertips, then began to wipe the window. Though it wasn't perfect, the light seemed to be a little brighter, and he was able to get his bearings. He looked all around the office, finding no one, then looked under the desk.
"Excuse me. Merlin?" Aurich cursed lightly as the man didn't even stir. Conjuring two more beads of water, he threw them into Merlin's face. He laughed as Merlin jumped up, narrowly missing the edge of the desk, then regained his composure. "Merlin, yes? I am Aurich of Caerleon. Prince, Aurich, if it's all the same to you. I've come for one thing, obviously. I need to train. My father did not believe in violence, but he has had no qualms with magic. Allow me to train with your guild, sir." Aurich bowed slightly, as befitted Merlin's title.
(sorry for godmodding you to be sleeping, had to think of sommat to do!
also, I think a running convo would work, I hate doing other people's dialogue)

(That's no problem, and I'll always rp a running conversation unless it's with a NPC...)
Merlin jumped awake from his curled position, only narrowly missing banging his head on the underneath of the table. He looked up into an unfamiliar face, confused, having just been wrenched from a particularly pleasant dream which involved Arthur in the stocks, and a handful of overly ripe tomatoes.
Regaining his bearings he stretched out and clambered back onto his chair behind the desk. After an early start cleaning Arthur's armour before breakfast, Merlin was exhausted, despite the fact that he had only been working in the Guild office for a few hours. He listened as the man introduced himself, at the same time realising the he must have been caused the splash of water that had woken him up.
"Pleased to meet you Aurich. Prince Aurich." Merlin corrected himself quickly. He had become overly familiar with Arthur but did not want to offend any foreign royalty. "I would be glad to have you in our Guild." he patted down a tuft of hair that was sticking out at an odd angle as a result of his nap in an attempt to appear more assertive, "I'm assuming the water that woke me up had something to do with you? Which band of magic do you wish to train in?"

Aurich chuckled most un-Princely as Merlin tried to right himself in front of him. "Please, Merlin, don't be so fussy. You can call me Aurich, I wish to be under the tutelage of the Guild. I am nothing more than an apprenticing mage, in all honesty." Aurich said, shrugging his shoulders slightly. He looked closely at Merlin, and his eyes caught the neckerchief tied to Merlin.
"Pardon my forwardness, Merlin. But, is there a particular reason why you are wearing a neckerchief? It's the harvest season, and its hardly chilly. You must be sweltering." Aurich said, pointing to the attire he had on, a light, beige tunic, and brown riding pants.
"OH! Right! Magic, magic, magic. Hmm. Well, I threw water in your face, so it seems rather obvious." Aurich looked at Merlin seriously. "Elemental magic. Though a bloody load of good that'll do me. I'm a Prince, not a tottery old warlock purveying silly children's tricks." Aurich looked at Merlin again, this time angered. "You'll, er, have to excuse me. It's just, my father, he- nevermind. It has nothing to do with the task at hand."

Aurich's words put Merlin at ease. He was clearly a different kind of Prince to the ones he had encountered. Well, the only other prince he had encountered. It was better that way though, the levels of the Guild created respect for those with more training and the elders. Merlin was about to say so to Aurich, but he was caught off guard by the next question.
"My, my necktie?" Merlin touched his red neckerchief slightly self-consciously. "I always wear it." he replied with a slight shrug, "That or my other one. It's blue." He grinned, realising how childish he sounded. "I guess it's a habit."
Merlin had assumed that Aurich wished to train in elemental magic from his impromptu demonstration, but was surprised at his outburst that followed. He didn't want to pry into Aurich's business with his father.. his main priority was magic not family issues, so he didn't ask any questions. "Well you will learn more than just children's tricks here... at least I hope you will. You can start your training, well, any time from now! I'd be happy to help if you have any questions."

Aurich nodded at Merlin, and then hung his head. "I'm truly sorry, Merlin. I didn't mean to snap." Aurich apologised, and eyed him carefully. "I have a lot of respect for you. I sincerely hope Arthur appreciates all that you must do for him. I've had the ... erm, pleasure, of meeting him before." Aurich said, laughing slightly at his own sarcasm. "Well, at any rate, thank you Merlin."
Facing the door, he waved over his shoulder, and tried to think of ways he could better his skills. He vowed to make a trip to the library to find some tomes to read, brush up on theory.
