Gavin had thundered as fast as his strong muscular legs would take him. Avaris held tight, low and secure as they brushed through the low lying branches and twigs. If she hadn't been wearing her helmet, her face would most certainly have met them in full force. She dug her heels into his sides a twinge for speed and he huffed his response in return. "Come on Gavin, just a bit further and we will have lost them." The grey Andalusian stallion pulled at the bit, trying his hardest to please his master.
The previous day, a hot headed knight started nothing but trouble. Taunting and throwing jesting words as if they were leaves in the wind. She should have just ignored them, should have just walked away, but unfortunately she had created a reputation for herself, one that she could not escape. The White Unicorn, so delicately painted on her grand shield. If someone had leapt into her family history, one would notice that it is, in fact the family crest of the Malvallet's. Colours changed slightly from the navy blue and white to silver. It was her Father's, always shined to perfection, hence the name she accepted. The Silver Knight.
The problem with the duel, was not the duel itself, but the outcome. She had won and killed him. The problem? He was the son of a Nobleman, but not just any, a very, very wealthy and prominent figure head, both in merchants and politics. This..was a very..very bad mistake.
Gavin heaved in defeat, he could run no more. Breath quick, she pulled him into a shadowed part of the woods, resting by a small hidden spring.

Chase was furious. Due to some idiotic nobles son going off and getting himself killed Chase had been asked by the guild to find the perpetrator. Chase couldn't care less that the idiot had lost a duel but the nobles were in a fit about it saying that the "Silver knight" As they called him must have used magic to win. So of course the guild had been forced to get involved and Chase's enemies in the guild had decided to send him on this wild goose chase.
However he had actually run across a knight wearing silver and had given chase when the knight fled. He was surprised that his opponents horse was still able to run considering the gruelling pace and the amount of weight it carried. Chase's horse was getting tired and she wasn't carrying a suite of armour.
Finally it appeared that the knights horse had reached its limit. Chase could hear its breakneck pace slowing down. Following the general direction where the knight had been heading Chase found himself approaching a small spring with the silver knight resting by it. Calling out ahead he said, "Hey Silver Knight I don't want to hurt you just ask you some questions." Not that he cared how this meeting started since chances were in the end it would involve him taking the knight back to justice.

Avaris lifted her heavy head to the boy, young appearing 16..17 roughly. Gavin snorted and pawed. He knew something was up, but still too exhausted to make a move. She rubbed his sweating forehead softly, tucking his long forelock, behind his hot ears. He nuzzled his nose against her elbow in worried concern. Even though he was just a horse, she was all he had in this world, and he for her.
"Questions...of course you do..." She clenched her jaw and closed her eyes, trying not to let a vision slip through. In Physical strength, she could take him, and the moment Gavin gained his strength, she would be off. Strength wasn't why he was here, she could sense his magic, which sent a chill down her spine. This would not end well.

Chase listened as the knight appeared to despair in avoiding him for now. Of course chances were that once the knights horse recovered he would be off again but at least for now Chase would be able to ask some questions.
"So first are you the knight who killed Sir Thornburg's son? And if you are how did you do it? Did you use magic or any other forbidden means to win." Chase spoke in a voice that showed how little he wanted to be here. Hopefully the knight would confess and Chase would be able to escort him back to Camelot to be tried before the king.

Avaris cleared her throat, sounding as deep as she possibly could through the helmet. "I had no idea he was a Lord's son until it was too late...who are you to ask such questions." With a deep breath, she stiffened and set her muscles tight. "I used no magic upon him. It was his own folly, his own foolish words that ended in his demise. " There, that wasn't a lie. There had to be some way out of this...somehow.

Chase listened to the knight's explanation trying not to let his emotions of boredom from showing. Chances were the knight was telling the truth but Chase would still need to try to get a fuller explanation before bringing him in. How bothersome.
"So what did he say that was so foolish and how did you murder him? Oh and please don't try to escape I really don't feel like having to capture you again." Chase said in a bored tone. Although it might actually be fun showing the knight just how weak he was compared to Chase. At least then this mission would get interesting.

Avaris sighed again, deep from her stomach. This was not going to be easy. She had kept herself quiet, hidden for years and now this. he would most likely try to drag her in for justice. She would resist.
"I hardly remember his words, but he was an arrogant pratt., believed himself to be the God of the world. All who opposed were nothing beneath him. I was not going to fight him, but he nearly ran me through. I had to fight back, needless to say...he lost." Gavin leaned down for a drink in the cool spring and shifted his body weight into her. He was quietly angsty.

Chase wondered what he was supposed to do now. The knight had given his answer and Chase didn't see why it was necessary to bring the knight to Camelot. He actaully agreed in principle with what the knight had done. However chances were the nobles would flip if Chase came back empty handed so he probably should bring the knight.
"Well sorry but since that's your answer I better bring you back to Camelot to be judged. The king will decide if you did right or wrong." It was annoying but he better do it. The last thing he needed was for the senior mages to get mad at him again.

"Let's a strike a deal...shall we.." she smirked underneath her metal safehold. "Let us say that I was not the knight you were looking for and I pay you a hefty sum, that and you let me escape. There could always be the claim that I was some mysterious sorceress that disappeared into a cloud of smoke. It all depends on you. I will make it to Camelot, but under my own terms....and not as a criminal." She folded her arms and the small metal links clinked together. She was not going down easy and her identity would remain a secret as long as she could hold off. The biggest shock wouldn't be that she was a woman, but the fact, that she herself was of noble birth.

Chase smirked at the knights offer. Did the knight really think he was interested in money? Chase already had more money then he needed. Money might be power but there was a limit to it. Well at least the knight wasn't being boring any more.
"Sorry no can do Mr Silver. If you did disappear in a puff of smoke then I would have to hurt you. Which I don't think you would like. Of course if you don't come then I still might have hurt you but its really your choice. So will you come with me or do I have to prove how much stronger than you I am." Chase almost hoped she would choose the later. He wanted to see how well his magic worked against a knight.

'I knew you dealt in magic...because there would be no way you could defeat me a lone. I can beat you in blade skill alone." She swallowed nervously, trying to find her words. There simply was no escape.
"Listen...I really do not wish to be bullied by some one such as you. I do not know what plans you have, But I am determined to remain in mystery in Shadow." Avaris straightened her back and stood as tall as she possibly could, but only at 5'6.

Chase listened once more to the knights reply. He liked it. Especially the part about remaining in the shadows. He always had respected those people who could work from behind the scenes without ever letting others discover their identities. Unfortunately Chase knew he would have to bring the knight in.
"Sorry but I sorta have my own reputation to take care of a so I need to bring you in. Don't worry I doubt you'll be punished. The law should be on your side." Now how would the silver knight react to Chase's refusal to allow him to wander free? Chase wanted to see if the knight came up with a plan or recognised the inevitable and accompanied him.

"fine...fine I will go. But I'm not taking my helmet off, alright? Not in front of you...let us just say...I might know the Pendragons, and you don't need to know. "
She huffed again, cocking a coy smile underneath. there, that should do it. If This boy desperately wanted to know her identity, he would have to work for it and practically peel her helmet off. Until then however, maybe there was chance at an accord.

After listening to the knights explanation Chase was now curious as to his identity. Chances were the knight was only refusing to take off his helmet to make Chase curious but Chase couldn't resist wondering. The part about knowing the Pendragons was obviously false considering the amount of time he had spent trying to escape from Chase. Chase examined the knights shield trying to remember if he had seen it before. He thought he recognised it but couldn't place what noble house it went with. Probably one from far away since he couldn't instantly recognize. Chase might look down on the nobility but he had long ago learned the advantages of being able to recognize him. His tutors had given him daily tests on which crest went with which family.
"Ok but you do realize that you will have to take it off in the presence of the king. Unless of course you want to be beheaded for treason. In fact chances are you aren't even allowed to enter the castle with it on. So it might be easier for all involved if you take it off now. Anyway we better start heading back to the castle." After speaking Chase started to turn his horse around towards the castle. He trusted the knight not to be stupid enough to try to escape.

Avaris sensed his doubt, but in all honesty was not lying. "You do not believe me? Well...I suppose since I am being rather secretive, you have full right." She heaved a deep sigh and tried to think of some sort of escape here. Her papers! right!...Well..that would most certainly give away that she was a woman. She could always lie. He didn't know her family anyway. "I am The long lost son of the Lord and Lady Malvallet...what happened...was a mere unfortunate accident. And the Lord's son..I say to you again, was not planned."
