Nellie couldn't believe what this boy was saying. He wanted to heal her emotional pain for her family? She shook her head, but it wasn't a no, she was just trying to wrap her head around it. "Is that even possible?" She didn't think it was. And by the he was speaking about, he wasn't sure it was either. Then she really thought about what he was saying. Did she really want to forget her pain? And what if something went wrong and she forgot them completely. Nellie couldn't live with that. It would tear her apart to not remember her past. The only thing she would be able to know would be the little bit that she told Dreamer, and he would be able to tell her back. No more memories of the holidays, her family's love. All gone. Internally, she cringed at the idea.

"In theory" Dreamer said, looking down at his mug of milk. He wasn't depressed, looking down in a moody state, he was thinking aloud. "White Magic is when you mend what has been broken, so it should be possible that i can mend together the wound..." then he drifted off with his thinking.
It would be a challenge, especially with as deep of a emotional wound Nellie had. It wasn't like a break up, or you lost your favorite stuffed animal. She had her kingdom destroyed, her family lost, and had been caste down to a life of a civilian. She had endured hardship after hardship of negative forces. He would need an equaly strong positive force to fuel the magic, happiness.
It could be possible.

Nellie was enthralled. Could this be possible? Was this boy, that she just met, able to help her get over her pain of her family? It had to be too good to be true. She listened and waited for him to continue. When he didn't, she decided to urge him on. "So... go on? Do you think it could work?" She stared at him, her eyes protraying her complete interest.

Dreamer didn't answer at first, he was still thinking about it. The wound was a big one, so it wasn't something he could just rush into without a second thought, that's how you died. When he did answer, he told her what he had figured.
"Your pain is beneath the skin, its emotional, so that in it's self would make it difficult, on top of the nature of the injury...Its possible, but i would need a positive force strong enough.."
He stayed quiet to see what her input would be.

Nellie held her tounge and restrained herself from rolling her eyes at his first comment. Duh it was beneath the skin. If that weren't the case, she could probably just heal it herself. Instead she simply nodded her head, taking in what he had to say. But what was she supposed to do about a happy positive force? She wasn't exactly the queen of happy. "Well, then think of something happy. Some... memory, or something." She was pretty much pulling stuff out the air here. She didn't know what kind of happy he was talking about. Maybe he meant such an overjoyed happy, it was enough to make everyone in this bar to be sick. This boy needed to stop being so vague.

Dreamer looked up from his mug to stare at Nellie for a moment, his eyebrow raised in a questioning look, "You don't seem to give your pain enough credit it". It wasn't really a question, more of a statement. For some reason, Dreamer wasn't getting his point across to Nellie, so he would have to explain what he needed in another way.
After a moment, and another sip of his milk, he asked "I would need an equal or stronger positive force than that of your negative emotion....The day you lost your family was the worst day of your life right?". He was hoping she would piece together what he had said. In order for him to do what he needed, it would have to be the best day of his life.
Then another thought hit him, curiously, he looked over into the overwhelming crowd in the Ram. "Or..." he said, accidentally speaking aloud.

There seemed to be something Dreamer was trying to get at that Nellie wasn't getting. She was trying at least. When he asked if it was the darkest day of her life, she cringed, trying not to give in to the gory visions that flashed before her eyes. The blood, the screams. She opened her eyes, then looked at him, trying to memorize his looks so she could forget the sights in her mind. Her heart ached painfully, remembering. All she could do was nod her head. That still didn't help her. She couldn't give him happiness. She wasn't a god or anything. Then, when he looked around at the crowd and she heard his or, she saw that another idea came to his mind."What are thinking, Dreamer?" She asked, a little worried.

"What are thinking, Dreamer?"
Dreamer was pulled out of his thoughts by nellie, and as he stared at her he was able to think about his idea. The thought was that he could sing for the crowd, make them all happy, and draw the crowds happiness to fuel the spell. It was a genius idea, he had read a section about drawing magic from outside sources, but he didn't know.
The idea intrigued him, drew him in, something was daring him to try it out. He couldn't though, and it wasn't because he had never done that either, but he would be forcing those people to give him their emotion. It would be against there will, but it would be for a good cause.
Did the end justify the means?
Dreamer didn't know, so he wasn't about to find out, "Forget it,"he said, "Its nothing to worry about".
Then, to evade the question he knew she was going to ask, he answered his previous one ," In order to challenge your negative emotion, i would need a positive one just as strong, so basically it would need to feel like the best day of my life".

Nellie waited for him to answer, and when an answer didn't come, of course, it annoyed her. Then it didn't help when he told her to forget about it. She was about to protest when he cut her off with an explanation to her previous question. "Do you have one? Is there one powerful enough for... mine?" She wasn't sure there was. That had to be one powerful memory to cancel out the pain that her past had caused her. She was still curious about his former plan, but she decided she'd store it away and ask it later. "What.. What if this goes.... wrong? Will it just not work, or will something happen?" There was fear in her eyes, though she tried to keep it out of her tone. If she was going to forget her family and memories completely, she didn't want to do this little experiment.

Dreamer considered her question, trying to figure a way to explain it carefully without alarming her. When he found that to be near-impossible, he just told her the flat out truth. "I don't know exactly, but the highest likely outcome of failure is you having to see your memories again as if they just happen...and i..."
This was the breaking point
"Would surely perish for the attempt, my magic would drain me and i would die....But that's only because i don't have a memory that will will work to counter it, nothing strong enough". He took a long drink of him milk, draining the rest of the contents.

Nellie leaned forward a little more, waiting for his answer. Before he could finish it, she was turning the option over in her head. It would be painful, for sure, but it was a chance to take in case it did work. And then he continued with his answer. She widened her eyes and looked at him. Then, when she was able to collect herself, she shook her head vigorously. "Forget it. We're not doing it. I will not have your death on my hands." The last sentence she said very seriously, her voice somber. She forced a smile to comfort him. "It's ok, I don't mind it that much anyway. I'll get over it eventually," though she was sure that was pretty much a lie. She didn't think she would ever be able to get those horrible thoughts and images out of her head, or get rid of the pain of it that constantly plagued her.

Dreamer nodded, he figured she would tell him they werent going to do it. To be honest, he didn't like the possibility of dying, but anything to help her out. Which was awkward, they had just met, but that was Dreamer, caring enough to die.
Dreamer shrugged and said, "Ah well. Was worth a shot at least". Then he waited, letting them retreat into an awkward silence as he waited for another topic to discuss came up. For him, one had not come to mind yet.

Nellie expected him to argue, because that seemed to be a little bit of something to do, so she was happy when he didn't, and she nodded her head. At first, she wasn't sure what to say to break the awkward silence. Then something came to her mind. She never knew what his other idea had been. "Dreamer, what was your idea before?" What if it coud work without him dying and her pain easing. The idea was tantalizing. But, only if it didn't put him in danger It surprised her that this guy that she had jsut met seemed willing to risk his life to ease her pain. That was a true show of character, and perhaps some insanity.

Dreamer was hoping she wouldn't bring it up, he wasn't going to do it right now. He wasn't certain about it, he wouldn't risk all of the innocent, or not so innocent, citizens in the tavern. "Its an idea i had, but i dont think i should do it..." he figured he should stop there, but she wanted to know the truth. "I thought, maybe, i could play for the crowd again, this time i could sing the magic and share the happiness of the crowd to fuel the spell, and not just my own..."
He let her take a moment to think about it before saying, "I wont do it though, not now, not until i know its safe for everyone here". That was his excuse, and it was true, but he also had a thing against taking away the right to choose from these people. They so rarely were able to use their right, living in a castle, so he wasn't going to do that to them.

At first, Nellie was excited by the idea. An idea that didn't hurt Dreamer or her! But then, once again, her hopes were shut down. Great. It wouldn't hurt her or him, but it put the people in the bar in danger. She was ready to give up and just deal with the pain of her past, like people all over the world were doing with their problems. She looked down at her hands and picked at her clean nails. "Oh well. It was worth asking." She smiled at him, then went back to her playing with her hands.
Then Nellie heard a glass break farther back into the bar. Her head shot up and she searched for where it came from. Her eyes zeroed in on a guy standing up, red in the face, looming down on another guy. They were both standing, but one was obviously much taller than the other. "You spilled my drink!!" The guy bellowed. "Hey man, it was an accident." Nellie sighed, and said to Dreamer, "Excuse me." She walked from behind the bar and went behind the taller man and tapped his back. He turned around, a livid look on his face. "I'm going to have to ask you to leave sir." If possible, his face got redder, and appeared to become angrier. "This idiot spilled my drink, make him leave." She sighed again, obviously not getting her point across. "Sir. I'm asking you nicely. Please leave." A smug, angry smile appeared on his face. "Oh yeah? And what are you gonna do to me, sweety?" Nellie shook her head and murmured to herself, "I asked first." Then, suddenly, she swiped her leg to the back of his knee and he crumpled a bit. Before he could gain his balance she aimed a well-targeted punch to his nose. A satisfying crunch was heard. He swung his arm at her head and she ducked agilely, then kneed his stomach. He groaned and crumpled to his knees, blood flowing from his nose. She grabbed a small dagger from a sheath in her belt and held it at his neck. "Now, I'm going to ask you one more time. Please. Leave." The guy looked at her, fear clearly in his eyes. He got up and staggered out, quickly.
Nellie sheathed her dagger and made her back to the bar. She took a towel and wiped off the little blood that was on her arm from his nose, then looked at Dreamer. "Sorry you had to see that. But I did ask him to leave."
