YAWWWWWWWWWN
Dreamer raised his arms and stretched as he turned down another alley and came out into the mainstream traffic. He was heading toward the Castle, where the Magicians guild was. He was moving slow though, dragging his feet as he walked. He recently started to resent the mornings, stating they were the worst part of the day.
He had been studying for two days straight, and he fell asleep on top of his book only three hours earlier. Now there was a drool stain on a page of one of his books, and that only added to his bad mood.
His eyes closed, Dreamer moved his way down a shortcut towards the castle. He would need to wake up soon if he wanted to get there on time. Turning another corner, Dreamer smacked right into someone, sending both of them to the ground.
Dreamer, jingling from earrings and necklaces, tripping over the floor beneath him. He landed on the ground hard, and groaned from his sore buttocks. His eyes open now, he picked himself up while looking at the other boy, "Sorry there lad" he said.

Chase was on his way to his destiny. He was about to be accepted into the magicians guild and he couldn't wait to arrive and show off his power. He was sure that he would be able to become the greatest mage in the land if he had access to the stores of knowledge hidden inside the guild. Unfortunately he had been a little overeager and had left to find the guild without asking for instructions as to where it was.
Turning a corner he collided with someone going the opposite direction. they both fell and the other boy groaned and said. "Sorry there lad"
Chase was furious he didn't mind falling and getting his clothes dirty right before his big debut, but for the kid to call him lad! He didn't look any older then Chase. Not to mention he was you could tell he was from the lower class just from his clothes. Didn't this boy have any respect?
"Excuse me but you should try looking before you run around a corner. How dare you call me a lad you look younger then I do kid." A sudden thought occurred to Chase since he was here he might as well make him useful. "I don't suppose you would happen to know how to get to the magicians guild do you?"

Dreamer smiled at the guy, he was already amused by the anger of the boy. It didn't take long before dreamer was able assess him. He was dressed nicely, and had that look of disgust, he was a wealthy brat. Dreamer always loved running into children like him, he always chuckled from their arrogance.
"You have a point there lad," Dreamer said. Rolling his eyes, he actually did chuckle when the boy said he was headed to the guild. "What a coincidence" Dreamer stated, "I was just headed there, in that direction". Dreamer pointed behind the boy, at the castle, with a smile on his face.
"Obviously not an apprentice, you can tag along if you see fit to bless me with your presence" Dreamer said.
Alright, he was being a little harsh, but he was having a bad morning already. Besides, Dreamer wanted to see the kids face when he realized who Dreamer was. Thinking back to the kids arrogance not moments ago, he wondered if the boy would even care.

Chase could tell that the teen thought he was a spoiled brat but didn't particularly care. He doubted he would ever run into the teen again and even if he did it wouldn't make a significant difference. He had noticed that people always underestimated rich peoples children. Still after examining the boy there seemed like Chase felt like he was missing something. He prided himself on being able to read people and guessed that there was something this boy was keeping to himself.
The teen answered his question with several sarcastic comments and saying that he himself was headed for the mages guild. Was it possible that this kid was a member there? As soon as Chase thought the thought he dismissed it for a folly. The boy was to young and simply looked to poor and weak to be a member of that hallowed guild.
Still it did seem like Chase was missing something so Chase asked him "So what are you anyways, and why are you going to the guild? I am about to become a member there."

Dreamer's smile wouldn't dim as he listened to the boys questions. "specify what you mean by, "What am i?" " he said, "I am alot of things". Dreamer began walking at a comfortable pace, past the boy, and to the Magicians guild. He turned and waited for the boy to begin to follow, nodding with his head towards the destination, before continuing on again.
He was being slightly rude because of his bad mood. Alright, more than slightly, but the boy brought it upon himself. Dreamer sighed as he listened to the boy specify his meaning, hoping they could reach some sort of truce.

Chase was starting to get annoyed as the kid answered his questions with nothing. This kid was definitely hiding things and Chase hated not knowing all the facts but he also hated meeting people. Should he bother diving into this pathetic kids life just to try to discover what he was hiding?
The kid started walking forward motioning at Chase to follow him. Well Chase would not dig so deeply just for some annoying kid. The boy obviously didn't want to say anything and Chase was fine with ignoring the boy. Anyway he had found that often people hated silence and would do anything to break it. If the boy wanted to he would break the silence if not then Chase would still get to the guild.

Dreamer listened closely as he heard the boy walking behind him, but not speaking. He gave the boy a few moments before he looked back to check on him. He assumed the boy would give him an answer, but instead he was content with just walking silently. A real character changer, Dreamer almost felt happy for having company now.
Keeping his fingers in his pockets , Dreamer whistled as they made there way peacefully to the castle gates. Dreamer walked threw without a problem, even waving at a few of the passing guards. Not only had he been passing threw those gates almost daily, he would usually see a hand full of them at the Ram.
"Keep up" Dreamer called back to the boy as Dreamer forced them down a left turn alley, to avoid the morning crowd.

It appeared that the boy wasn't going to break the silence between them. Which was fine with Chase since he didn't particularly like talking to people in the first place. The boys very presence was starting to annoy Chase especially when he started whistling what sounded like a tavern song.
The boy had waved to the guards as they entered so apparently he visited the castle often. Not just some low class person at least that much was obvious.
They turned to enter an alley and the boy had the audacity to turn back and and yell "Keep up." The only reason Chase was behind at all was because he had paused for a second to examine the castle. For that matter why were they going down an alley anyways? Well it didn't matter Chase decided he could easily beat an ambush even if he was outnumbered. That was unlikely though whatever else he was the boy didn't seem like the type to lure someone into a trap.
He hurried up to the boy wondering how long it would take until they reached the guild.

Dreamer finally cracked, his curiosity getting to him. It was just so peculiar that the little rich boy would wander off by himself without a guard or two. Ok, that wasn't awkward, the real peculiar thing was that he did so and didn't even have the intention of slumming it. Instead he was dragging himself, and his dreams, along all of Camelot in search of the Magicians guild.
"What makes it think you have what it takes to become one of....the magi" he said. He had almost said us, but strayed away from it fast enough to not even begin to sound it out. He was curious about the boys potential, and what magic he would have to perform. He would find it slightly ironic if he was innately tuned to white magic, that would make Dreamer one of his mentors.

Chase was desperately hoping that they would get to the guild soon. He was sure that he would never need to ask for help again since he had memorized the path they had walked so far and it couldn't be that far till the guild.
Finally the boy cracked and asked him why he thought he could join the magi. Once again there was a barely detectable pause as if like the boy stifled something before it even came out. Once more however there was nothing conclusive that Chase could figure out using just that pause. For all he knew the kid could be a noble in disguise, one of the mages of the guild, or a member of some anti magic group.
Chase answered the boy by saying "Well you ask why I believe I can join the guild. Lets just say I always have been special." Let the boy try to figure that on out. If he wasn't going to give straight answers then neither was Chase.

Dreamer listened to the boys words and instantly drew into his mind his own words. By the sound of the boys voice, he made it sound like being special was a gift. The boy hadn't the faintest clue how much touble being special could bring you.
Dreamer's pace was slowing down, although they were still moving forward. He wanted to make as much of a detailed assessment of the boy as possible, which meant he would need more time. "We are special, everyone in their own way" Dreamer turned and gave a genuine grin, "What makes you think your special enough to make it in the guild?".

Chase scoffed as the boy spouted the usual nonsense that everyone was special in their own way. Did he really believe that rubbish.
"Sure everyone is special just most people are special in the same boring ways. They don't deserve to be called special. They are simply more people that don't grasp or even try to understand the brilliance of the rare few who are special. I will even admit that some of those who are special don't deserve it but the fact remains that most people do not deserve to be special or are not special and thus don't deserve it. You question why I deserve it. I say because the guild has more of the special people who deserve it then people who don't. Otherwise I would have no reason to join it."
Chase had to admit he was quite pleased with his argument in favour of his way of view. So long as the boy wasn't an idiot he would admit that Chase's point was the stronger one.

The boy was adamant, and again by the tone of his voice, he sounded slightly smug about about his opinion. Dreamer didn't look behind him, but he imagined the boy had his chin up pretty high at the moment. All in all, by Dreamer's experience, he would fit in pretty well at the Magicians guild.
"I will admit, The mage's guild obviously has its handful of special people, but let me change my question" he coughed. Spitting on the ground, he continued walking, face forward, and asked "Amongst so many special individuals, the majority of them training for longer than you, what makes you think that your special enough, or that your particular brand of special is even good enough?".

It appeared that the boy not even dismissed Chase's ideas but also spat upon it. At least he agreed with him about that the mage guild had the greatest number of special people throughout the land. He apparently didn't believe that Chase was special enough to get into the guild. His questions really were starting to annoy Chase. This conversation had dragged on for far to long.
"Why you ask do I know I will be accepted? Because unlike so many others I know I am special and am willing to do anything for power. I have never failed at making anything and that's not because of my father. Its because I have the capability to do anything. I am a true genius."
Chase hoped that this would end the discussion and he could arrive at the guild for his début.

Dreamer shook his head, Dreamer was not justified in calling the boy a child. He had at least found one of the boys motivations, and it was power. Which, honestly, if he put effort into his magic, he was going to gain some. Unfortunately, with as big as his ego, it would be all for nothing.
"There is nothing wrong with humility you know, a word of advice, do not go walking in with too much pride and an ego larger than your head, it will only prove to cloud your judgment and hinder your training" Dreamer mustered up as much of a serious tone as he could. He had seen such blind confidence before when he began his training, and saw how it damaged those who didn't progress as fast.
"Then again.." he said, "It may be to late for that huh" Dreamer turned and gave the boy another smile, chuckling as he did. He was kidding with the boy, making a joke with him.
