Right so Veryan had made a promise, a promise that would affect him whether he liked it or not. But it had been a promise nonetheless and to a dying man. He lightly shivered as he remembered the fatal doom that awaited Dante the dark morning he walked to the arena, the abominable day Veryan lost one of the best friends he had ever had and one of those days he could never forget and though he wished he could, somewhere deep down inside of him he wanted to remember it always. Such a cruel thing to do, however he knew that the Prince was simply defending himself, wasn’t he? Honestly, it had been such a hard situation for Veryan having known both contenders as much as he did.
But now there was no turning back, Dante had given him instructions to follow, he had told him where and when to find the Dark Knight, no questions asked, so long as he gave the man’s initials they would tell him Veryan was here, sent by Dante, to be trained in the ways of the sword. He ha obviously spoken with no one on the matter, not even his parents knew of his latest dealings, nor the friends he had made or the places he now often visited. One of them being Dante’s grave.
He needed to regain strength; he needed to look into his past and know he was doing the right thing, but what was the right thing but what every person perceived it to be? He sighed, it did not matter now, and he was in the slums already so there was no backing down. His hood hid his face as he walked along the dark alleys and streets looking for the one place Dante has spoken of.
He sensed the darkness and desolation of these parts of the city. It wasn’t only his perception but also his connection to the elements of the earth that allowed him such liberties, which were more like a burden really. He sighed as he watched some children playing with dirt, how could such a place exist where a great kingdom is said to prosper? In conclusion Camelot did not bring comfort and wealth to everyone in the city. As he walked he made sure his hood covered his face and so he skipped a great puddle of wine and finally found the place.
He opened the door and walked over to the person in charge and simply said he was there to meet up with the DK, on behalf of deceased Dante. The man stared at Veryan blankly, however he soon nodded and went to inform the Dark Knights that there was someone there to see him.
