Name: Trinket The Crow
Age: Four (appears seventeen)
Sex: Female
Class: Low
Appearance:
Trinket is a scrawny awkward looking human with dark hair and eyes. Standing only four foot eight she spends most of her time looking up at the world. Her skin is a creamy white that appears so odd to her, someone used to being covered in midnight feathers. She has a small frame accompanied with long, slender arms and legs. Her face is an oval shape with a softly pointed jaw, her cheeks also oval in shape. Boyish shaped she doesn't have much in way of curves but she is not deterred by this fact.
Her clothing varies depending on what she feels like or is given in the morning; though it is also due to note that when in private she has no problem running around in her birthday suit. She only ever wears the colors black or dark blue. Dresses are purely a hindrance to her so she usually dresses in leggings, boots and a tunic.
Played By: Valerie Poxleitner (Lights)
Character:
Like any other crow Trinket is very intelligent, she quickly learns and understands things that are taught or demonstrated to her. Though she does not thirst for knowledge it is more or less something that comes to her through experience. It is easier for her to learn while doing then to be taught. Ever curious she is always looking at things and playing with anything she can get her hands on. She can be very aggressive if there is something she feels the need to protect or has claimed as hers.
Trinket is entirely loyal to her master who domesticated. This could be attributed to being constantly fed and provided for by said individual though. When not out causing trouble she can usually be found by her master's side helping out in anyway possible. She dotes on her master and has more or less become her master's assistant.
Playful and childish are ways to describe the main attributes of Trinket's personality. She is easily amused, willing to spend hours touching something with her new found hands. Things that can distract her are many meaning it is easy for her to loose focus and forget to do something. She comes off as hyper most of the time because she bounces around in conversations a lot. Naïve to human ways Trinket finds many things interesting because they are so foreign to her. Examples of this are money, reading and writing, clothing, castles/houses and weapons. Trinket has a child like wonder about all things human and is a frequent people watcher.
People might describe her as overly friendly and affectionate because most of her ideas on how to interact and greet people come from watching people in the market. Trinket often gets the wrong action for the situation, for example kissing or hugging someone after introducing herself, offering a handshake after becoming friends with someone.
Strengths:
•• Quickly grasps concepts (whether she chooses to acknowledge them is something different)
•• Fiercely loyalty to her master
•• Adapting & surviving in different places
•• Friendliness with everyone regardless of status
Weaknesses:
•• Shiney Objects: forever tempting the poor crow
•• Lack of knowledge and understanding of human ways
•• Cannot read or write and doesn't understand the concept of money
•• Scared of hawks & cages
Magic:
Has a limited magical ability that seemed to be jump started by her master's spell, she can shift her shape between that of a human and a crow. That is the extent to her magical ability.
Weaponry Skills:
…does a pointy stick count as a weapon?
Character History:
Born into a family of crows for most of her infancy Trinket was in the safety of the nest. Like many before her she learned to fly about a month after her hatching. It wasn't long before she was grown up and flying with a small murder of crows. Her life as a free bird was cut short after a year when she was attacked by a hawk. She managed to escape while some of her kin were not to lucky.
Injured she hopped around on the ground trying to get away before something could come and kill her. At the time she was disoriented and with her injury the most she was doing was flopping around and falling. A group of gypsies happened to be wondering though the forest at the time. Finding the disoriented crow they took her into their care and healed her. She stayed with the gypsies for a few months after she was healed. The people were pleasant and caring toward her but still respecting of her freedom as a wild bird. Before she knew it Trinket had grew to become a member of the group of gypsies.
Her first encounter with the mage she would later call master was in the fall. The mage had stumbled upon the group of gypsies and had been welcomed to stay with them for dinner to talk with them. An Old friend of the Gypsy band she, the mage, stayed for the night. Curious as to the new individual in the camp Trinket would play little games with the woman mage. Trinket would follow the woman around the camp flying away when ever she turned around. The next morning while they all the humans are breakfast Trinket hopped ever so close to the mage, waiting and staring intently at the food in her hands. The woman, with a raised eyebrow, tossed some of her bread down for the crow who happily ate it. The gypsies laughed, exclaiming that the strange crow had never taken so much interest in a person before.
Their interactions continued like this for a year. The mage would stop and stay with the gypsy band for a day or two and the crow's fascination with her would grow. The playfulness that Trinket, then a nameless crow, displayed toward the woman fascinated everyone. She'd play little games with the woman, pulling on her clothes when she wasn't looking, dropping nuts and such on the woman's head as the crow flew over. The most common game though was follow the leader, where the crow would hop around after the mage.
One day in fact, the crow never stopped following the woman even as she left the gypsy group and have been traveling together ever since. The crow came to be the mage's best companion.
During her time with the Gypsy's Trinket had been a nameless crow. Her mage-master had debated on what to call her for a few days until it donned on her. The nameless crow had this odd obsession with the jeweled trinkets that she picked up on her travels. The crow was always hoarding them and pecking at the mage's hand until she would leave the items along. The only time she could pack them away was when the crow was asleep or out flying. Trinket seemed a perfect name for the crow.
Life as a wanderer was difficult for the both of them. With a constant change of scenery and not having anyone to talk to eventually got to them. Trinket's master's eventual resolve was to see if there was a way to turn the crow into a human. It was an entirely selfish thing to do but entirely human. It took days of research for the mage to actually discover a way to turn her animal companion into a human and then there was a few days where she was hesitant to do so, what if Trinket didn't like being human? But eventually her resolve was to do it.
And that's how it happened. Just before dawn in the deepest darkness of the morning, illuminated only by candles and the stars Trinket the human was born, naked as a new born baby and not at all ashamed by it.
Adjusting to being human was a major challenge for the crow-girl. She had to learn to walk, to use hands instead of wings, eat like humans. Clothing was such a foreign concept to her. Speaking was something she pick up right away. Along with her body turning into a human her mind and voice changed over as well. Speaking just took a few days to pick up and then she was off and rambling about completely useless things. With all the new hurdles the two faced their bond grew tighter and the two became closer then ever before.
…Now as the pair arrives in Camelot to temporarily halt their travels, it has been two weeks since her human birth and for Trinket this is her first time in a bustling town.
Additional Information:
I was thinking someone could possibly play her master, if they wanted. The only information mentioned about Trinket's master was that she was a woman, friends with the gypsies, a wanderer and a mage.
Hey Aurthur, I gave her the ability to change back but that's the extent to her magic, and changing gives me some ideas for plots and such seeing as crows were commonly associated with death in the medieval times. I'll change it if needed though.

Cam started at herself in the mirror for a while longer an indifferent expression on her featured that seemed odd on the usually cheerful girl. Picking up her mask she placed it on her face glad that the spell was working to keep it on her face without the aid of string. Running a hand through her hair that was neatly brushed and draping it self over her shoulders the black haired girl turned her gaze to the toad that was sitting on the counter next to her. I guess I don’t need to tell you that toad are not welcome to this event, much to my chagrin. Sighing she looked at her reflection in the mirror and ferreted over her mask for a moment, her nerves for the night showing. Brushing her bangs out of her face Cam stood with a determined look on her face and twirled in front of her beloved pet. So tell me what you think. Do I look presentable? The toad gave a soft croak blinking at his mistress. Cam giggled at this and made a dismissive gesture, picking her pet up and looking him in the eyes. You charmer you…I bet you just get all the lady toads all hot and bothered talking like that. Giving herself one last check over in the mirror and slipping on her heels the teen pulled the hem of her cocktail dress down and made her way into her dorm and down the stairs to the common room only pausing to call back to her toad and tell him to have a good night.
As the younger potter twin walked to the great hall where the Masquerade ball was to be held she got a chance to look at the other people and wondered if she slightly under dressed for the occasion (not that she was going to do anything if she was, she wasn’t really a gown person anyway). Arriving at the entrance way she checked her mask again then made her way to the professor who was bewitching students' hair to different colors and telling them to go find the person who had the same hair. Stepping up for her own hair to be magically altered Cam ran a hand through it nervously, having decided on the dress purely so it would go with her black hair – though it was also because she was too lazy to put it up and a fancy dress would mean she’d have to actually do something with her hair. After a moment of arguing with the professor to just let her in without the hair she gave in and raised her hands in surrender. Lay it on me! Closing her eyes she waited hearing the teacher mutter a spell and after a moment opened her eyes and grabbed some strands as she walked into the great hall.
Cam paused, tugging at the strands of her hair for what was surely not going to be the last time that evening to stare at the odd dark grey colour of her hair. Why did they have to pick that specific colour? It wasn’t that is was a horrible color (it actually went some what well with her dress) it was just that it looked so odd to Camelia Jayne Potter, the girl who prided herself on her black hair because it was something she shared with her father. Tossing her hair over her shoulder and brushing it out of her eyes Cam skipped off to find the stranger with the same hair color.
It was almost surreal, knowing that some where in the crowd were your friends but not being able to tell them apart from your enemies. Cam didn’t know if she should tread carefully for fear of being pared up with a Blackheart or Slytherin in general or go crazy knowing that until midnight when the masks came off no one was going to know who she was. It was such a hard choice for the Potter child…
…no it wasn’t. Of course Cam chose the latter. Throwing caution to the wind Cam happily skipped toward the crowd. Swirling couples with strange hair colours danced around the room. Two vibrant purple haired dancers whooshed by Cam, and a white haired couple were snogging in the corner. Cam was sure it was something out of Alice in Wonderland or some other fairy tale. Cam slid through the dancing crowd easily and made her way to the far end of the room there the boundary of the sexes seemed to be. On the left side of the room the girls stood in groups chatting amongst themselves or just standing alone, none of them having any interest in the boys who stood awkwardly on the opposing wall. Eyes scanning the male side of the room Cam spotted a boy with the same odd colored hair as she. Her facer lighting up in an instant Cam ran over tacking and hugging the male. Hello, Stranger! I see you’re my – probably unwilling – date for this shindig and I am thoroughly pleased to meet you! Cam continued to hug the stranger, speaking with her hyper, cheerful and loud voice, something the male probably found very uncomfortable. Some of the others that stood along the wall turned to look at the girl who was drawing a large among of attention to both herself and her partner. Cam was immune to these stared by now, seeing as she was known for always doing something to receive said stared from both students and professors alike.
