Character History:
Mariyana has lived a rather simple life, filled with cooking, cleaning and horses, due to her father’s job. He was always good with horses, raising, training and teaching others how to understand and respect them. He was the main Ostler in his village. Mariyana’s mother died, due to a cold, turned pneumonia, she soon was set in charge of her younger brother. She was forced to grow up, and into the role of a domestic lifestyle, whether she was ready or not. She took it all with a grain of salt, and rarely complained. Due to his remarkable connection and skill to the creatures, he easily landed himself a job in the royal stables.
She took to Camelot quite well and immediately felt at home. When her father found his job in the stables, it was easy for her to find a job as a servant, due to his credibility. She was sent to work in the royal kitchen’s which soon ended up being a rather large mistake. Mariyana could do nothing. Instead of learning, she failed over and over again. The head servant sent her in charge of buying daily goods in the market and mundane tasks such as boiling water or peeling potatoes. Although her servant duties were limited, her personality made up for her lack of work. A smile could always be found upon her face, and a polite curtsey was never far behind.
All too often, she received a smack upside the head for daydreaming. She hardly pays attention to her duties, which is another reason she spends it in the market. Part of her still desperately wants to steal a horse and flee towards some sort of excitement, but its buried so very deep inside, she would never rebel…or would she?
Additional Information: Nope
Sample Roleplay:
Mariyana rested an elbow on the rough frame of the small fence, holding her father’s horse and constant companion, and gave a hapless sigh. “Now then…what are we..presumably..you..going to do today?” The grey stallion snorted and buried his face into the loose bits of hay in his trough and began to chew. With a small chuckle, she tickled his ear and turned to brace her back against the wood.
It was like this day, after day. Nothing but the constant routine of making her father and younger brother breakfast, daily tasks as a servant only to come home to more cooking and cleaning. She would do anything for an escape, an adventure a simple change from the ordinary, but fate had yet to call her into such. She sucked het bottom lip and stared up at the ceiling where a few sparrows had nested.
There was some envy in her golden green eyes, watching them flutter and chirp. They could fly and soar anywhere they pleased. She was confined, and locked into this life, until she got married, then would be expected to bear children and live the exact same life she had been living. That and the fact, she would probably wouldn’t get the chance at love.
She heaved a deep sigh and turned back to force the great horse, resting her forearms and set her chin upon her clasped hands. “Perhaps…perhaps I will take you out and groom you today? The fresh air might do us both some good.” She smiled faintly, rubbing his velvet nose as he reached up for her affections. “An excellent excuse.” She whispered with a soft smile and reached for his halter.
