Name: Veryan Lithônion, which means ‘Brave, of the ash tree’.
Age: 18
Sex: Male
Class: Guild Magician (Needs training)
Appearance:
Veryan has a strong complexion, though thin he is fit for the hardships of the family businesses, in his case he is the apprentice of his father who is a blacksmith. It is a hard job but it goes well with Veryan’s temperament for he enjoys the forge much and creating things with his hands though he is yet to develop his true talent it relaxes him. As a result of such hard work and the exposure to the flames of the hearth and warmth of the kiln his body turned rather golden-like and though slightly tanned for working outside the house it renders him a certain mysticism to his persona, as if it became characteristic of him.
He has short golden hair though with traits of his mother’s light drown hair typical of the island they came from. His hair glitters lightly with the sun’s caress and the wind’s potent bliss but it is his eyes what truly has a say about him. They are of a certain blue light yet with silver edges that make them look metal-like and rather deep, it seems as if his gaze is mostly far away form what he is doing or saying when in reality his thoughts make it look so, as if he missed his homeland.
He is rather tall for the island they came from and though strong and tall he is light when it comes to horseback riding. Though they are poor and can barely keep their two horses for whenever a forge is to be delivered or his father needs to get supplies of any sort, Veryan enjoys riding whenever possible. His clothes are those of a simple and humble young apprentice to smithy but they are of rather soft brown and orange-ish brown colors mixed with white or dark blue, which keep a certain joy and harmony reflected by the young boy’s heart and soul. Sometimes he wears a long dark brown cloak but only if he is to travel or the weather is too cold, other than that he simply wears his habitual clothes. His boots are good in order to walk wherever he needs to and sometimes the prime matter for the job is not that close to their humble abode so his friend the skinner also makes good footwear and gives them at a reasonable prize for the sake of friendship.
Character: I take it this means personality? If so:
Veryan is cheerful in his own unique way, he obviously shows it to everyone he comes across though more exactly to his family and friends for the simple fact that he does not know how others would take his joyful spirit and in order to avoid misunderstandings or unnecessary confrontations he is polite to everyone but only shows his true merry self with those who truly know him, those he loves and cares for: family and friends. Of course that does not mean he is not eager to befriend others.
He is courageous more than anything and does not think it twice when the time presents itself where he must stand his ground and though he is but eighteen springs he has the heart of a lion and fights with all his might and power even if he was found weaponless he believes it is best to die with honor then to flee in shame for that runs after the dishonored person wherever he may hide and it never goes away unless that person earns respect and honor once again. It could be said he fears many things like anyone would, but it amounts t nothing when he wields his bravery against whoever challenges him and to whatever end.
Veryan is a most loyal friend and though coming from a far off land makes it hard for him to fit in or even show his true self to others he trusts that one day he might get to love Dol Amroth as he would his home. He loves helping others and making them happy, it puts a smile on his face and makes him feel complete and at peace with nature and the rest of the world even if it lasts for moment she knows he has helped a person and that life was to change one more. Change is part of life and as such he welcomes it. The fact that he came from another land, culture and way of life makes it easier for him to befriend people form distant lands for he knows what it is like to be a foreigner to the very lands you live in.
He loves adventures and that goes well with his bravery and impulsive or, better said, foolish nature. Whenever the family need some supplies or to deliver some craftwork Veryan does not hesitate to volunteer and though sometimes they trust him too young to look after himself in nature and send some scouts alongside him he enjoys the opportunity to escape everyday life and venture to places he had never been before and get in touch with the people and traditions. He loves catching opportunities whenever they come at him even if some of them are rather useless at least he can sleep at peace knowing he never let a single one of them escape him.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Weaknesses ::
Veryan is rather impulsive when it comes to making immediate decisions and, as a result, does not see the grave consequences of his acts until it is too late. It is true that sometimes a person must make decisions the very instant the problem steps forth but Veryan doesn’t think much on it and is rather a doer or someone who improvises most of the time making it hard for him to concentrate and analyze is ideas to prove them good ones or rather foolish and that gets him in trouble though most of the time he manages a way out of it unharmed he cannot trust it to happen all the time.
He is truly proud of the land he comes from, that is why, living in a land he does not truly call his own he is taken for an arrogant boy to most that know him and though he is a good person and a loyal friend he is indeed somewhat arrogant. This haughtiness does not come from malice or superiority but simply as a mechanism of self-defense in a land he does not know and escaped to for his homelands were experiencing deceit and terror and it is his only way to ensure himself he will not be harmed by other people’s words, knowledge or cruelty though it only gets him in trouble if he is to face someone who is indeed arrogant and egocentric. And in the end this trace of him developed since childhood little does to help most of the time.
A great weakness, perhaps the greatest Veryan has are those he cares for, his family and friends among them. At times of need if anyone he cares for is in danger he does not hesitate to help them f that means sparing them form any harm and it is then when he truly doesn’t think at all and simply uses his impulsive spirit thinking them the most important thing in the world for him that is why if an enemy wished to capture or damage him then that is the very spot that will make him beatable almost a hundred per cent.
Strengths ::
If there is one word to describe Veryan, besides impulsiveness or foolishness at times… it is bravery. When it comes to helping those he loves or to stand for what he believes in then he does not hesitate in being brave. He simply fights no matter who the enemy could be and if he or she was ever stronger than him and more likely to succeed. Though he is at times afraid like any other living creature in Middle Earth, his bravery stands out and covers any imperfection in his body for as long as that trait battles to remove the obstacle to his freedom. He can be a fearful contestant if anyone dares to step on what he loves most in his life.
Veryan is truly skilled with his weapons, especially since he trained to use them ever since he was a little boy, since hunting was necessary in order to survive in his homelands and still something useful and well paid for in Dol Amroth. His skill developed particularly when his father believed that Veryan had to master the use of a sword ever since that day when a stranger arrived to their smithy and stated that the “Harbinger” was for Veryan to use as his main weapon when the time came. Thalion saw this as a sign from the Valar to know they had not forgotten them and perhaps their son was to do great things in the world. Veryan is also a skilled rider no matter the mount offered to him.
Perchance his most important talent is that one of conversing with people and being a most trustworthy friend. To some that trait might seem silly and rather pointless but Veryan always believed that the best weapon a person can have is the comfort and support of a friend. Helping others and being there for them when they need someone to listen to them and help them see things more clearly is one of the things Veryan loves the most and is really good at. It also enables him to meet new people and different cultures, something he developed alongside his self-defensive arrogance to some extent.

Weaponry Skills:
1. Harbinger / Veryan’s sword:
It is a rare and unique sword, just like those forged by Eöl the Dark though this one in itself does not have such ill purposes neither was forged with malice. It has a red glitter of its own whenever the enemy is near and it is strange how it came to Venyar’s hands. One day, when he reached fifteen years of age a strange and hooded visitor gifted him with the sword stating he should wield it once he reached the age of seventeen but that he should be trained to use it beforehand, his father did not fully understand how someone unknown to them could know of their whereabouts and even more that such sword could belong in the hands of a humble blacksmith. But it did and is now Veryan’s main weapon if close to the opponent. Though young still he faithfully developed his fighting skills with the help of his father and friends whenever duties were done for a blacksmith had to live of his own work.
2. Quiver and Arrows:
Since sometimes he must hunt so that his family can subside he has been well taught on how to use the bow and arrow and has good dexterity and aim and is known to be a good hunter and menacing archer. He makes his own arrows out of the unwanted wood for he does not like hurting nature and takes the fallen feathers of birds that inhabit the woods of Dol Amroth or the seagulls that pass nearby for he also likes venturing to the shores. The quiver he now possesses was a gift from a dear friend and is the one he has kept since then, taking good care of it and realizing just how comfortable it is for him to use it, as if it had been made explicitly for him to occupy.
Character History:
Veryan, like his progenitors, Thalion and Arquenniel, was born in the island that gives his family the surname of Lithônion. The island is called Lithaldoren in honor of the great amount of beautiful and different kinds of ash trees found in that island alone, his family name also declines form that fact and means ‘of the ash tree’ as a mark to remind them where they come from and where they owe their loyalties and love toward. He lived in that prosperous island safe form the knowledge of anyone in Middle Earth since it is not a big island nor its power could ever menace anyone and it had always been ruled by three powerful and benevolent wise men who lived in accordance with young dragons who either lived among the Lithaldorians or come and go form the other islands they come from. Each wise man ruled one part of the island and it was said that only through wellbeing would the island prosper, it was then when an agreement between men and dragons was formed for they needed each other to subside and so they appointed some dragons and men to defend the isle together as one body and make sure things flowed as they must.
Veryan lived in that island in prosperity though at the times where the balance of men and dragons was broken and a dark era covered his beloved isle. His father had a god position as the royal blacksmith and his works would be well valued by the three kingdoms though there came a time when one of the wise men joined with a second in order to dethrone the third one for their power thirst was such they planned on terrible and dreadful things even at the back of the gods (Celtic deities) which made some fear they might experience the very end that overcame Atlantis and in a mad attempt they sailed away to more hospitable lands until the dark reign was over. The children were the most feared for since the dark Kings would enlist them to join the army or torture them to death despite how one of them seemed to fool most people around them. The dragons also had to flee with the exception of those who were killed alike the warriors who befriended them and fought alongside them for they were the keepers of the peace and order and without them the island was lost to the mercy of the violent wise men who were wise no more…
It was then when Veryan and his family sailed to Angliaterra (England) for they knew some people there and knew they would be safe for the time being. He was only seven years old. It was a sacrifice to be made but Thalion did not wish to enrage the Lords and then make his only son pay the price, besides he knew that one of the dark men’s followers was a skillful smithy and would look to no competition therefore also Thalion’s work was at sake if they stayed in their beloved island. After many months of sailing Northwestward they arrived to the shores of Cornwall tired, hungry and demoralized for having to leave their native soil for the sake of life and endurance but soon they got used to the way of life of such noble country. They never stopped feeling melancholy and longing for their motherlands but they lived on and fought for a better life and so Thalion’s forge became known in all of Cornwall and slowly extended to the realms of the West.
After four or five years of having settled in a small village at the coast of Cornwall, Veryan began having promontory dreams where he was warned something was to come his way, something not necessarily bad but unable to read the signs he became more and more reserved and rather worried and dared not tell his parents in fear of it being an ill omen. This brought him to consider running away to spare his family from whatever destiny deported for him. Little by little he felt it coming and began to connect it with the old sword the hooded figure brought for him to wield, could it have anything to do with him? Truth being told he was about to turn into a more skillful and mature man; but he did not know that yet.
(From here he will set out to Camelot)
Additional Information:
I decided to add this bit since it will become an important part of Veryan as I RPG along and wanted to make this known though I first asked permission to the Admins who so kindly accepted I want Veryan to be in a close relationship with a dragon (yes sort of like Eragon) and though some dragons in English mythology and folklore were rather cruel and vicious after so many ages of the world it is not mad to believe they could have breaded a more noble kind and that is the one to live near the island of Lithaldoren where all my ‘mythology or story-line’ takes place though I don’t need a sub-board for that island I will constantly name it and will only NPC the dragon that is appointed for Veryan. That been said I read the rules and yes, the dragon cannot kill unless stated by the character owners nor can he destroy whole armies and yes he is as destructible as Veryan.

Sample Roleplay:
It had been a long while since Veryan last saw or heard from Serena. It wasn’t that he did not care for her, for she was his friend and he was a devoted friend but he thought it would be intruding her privacy, besides he had heard of Saruman’s tragic death and knew that she had always warmed up to him, he was her mentor anyway. Surely someone like her knew well that a man like him was still capable of noble feeling, just maybe…
Surely if he had done something against her she would have revenged on him or even left, she had no secrets Veryan ignored for they were good friends and knew each other well enough to tell when one of them was having a hard time even when the rest of the world went amiss. There were days he wished to go to Isenguard and find out on his own whatever could be keeping Serena confiscated in the dark tower of Orthanc rather than visiting friends or writing letters. As far as he knew he had been the last one to reply to their correspondence. Though he had come to wonder if he had miswritten the address or something. Yes, Veryan was always thinking, sometimes he even wondered if he rested at night since his mind was also working when he laid in bed and when he would wake up the next morning.
Ugh… it was a disaster but he was content being himself and surely those around him would agree to that. Days and years went on and in many ways he did wonder if he did well in simply being respectful of her silence or if he should have traveled somewhere or done something to gain knowledge on Serena’s health and whereabouts but well, the past was best left in the past besides his job as a blacksmith apprentice left him few spare time to do the remaining daily chores or even enjoy himself for a full day’s work was tiring at times.
That morning Veryan had been appointed to gather whatever was needed for the home, as in food, water, and some other goods that his mother could not acquire on her own for some were too heavy and Veryan scarcely ever liked her working too hard so he always volunteered to help her, he obviously had to go to the forge in the afternoon because of that but he never seemed to mind, in his eyes he was spending some more time with his beloved mother. So she never feared asking for his help and surely his father understood his reasons, at least he thought them to be the right ones.
He woke up before dawn and put on his customary clothes for daily work though accompanied by his dark cloak since it was still cold outside and the sun had not come out yet, he had made sure to be up before his parents in order to get some materials beforehand so that he had to spend less time at the forgery and more time with his beloved mother. She seemed so gratifying after that, she would treat him with cooking something really nice so who could say no to that? He smiled when his stomach complained but he quickly took a piece of bread and some milk and quickly drank on his way to work and chewed on the bread before he arrived to the well.
His duties were almost done by the time morning came and the early fog and mist overcame the land and woods. His mother, Arquenniel, was waiting for him to accompany her to the market in order to get things at the lowest prices and carry it all back home. And so they spent most of the morning convincing merchants to lower prices or to increase in the amount of goods. Veryan did not mind doing this to help the household though it was somewhat annoying having to move in the middle of such turmoil of people trying to pass you through like ghosts in the mist. There came moments when he wished that part of the day had finished already so he could go back home and relax in the safety and comfort of the country life he had been entrusted to live. Of course he knew not what awaited him and was yet to discover it… very soon…
By the time things were set and Arquenniel started making lunch Veryan was granted some time to go to his room and wash his face with the cold water placed in the great white porcelain bowl in order to refresh and cleanse his face and arms from such a busy morning. He sighed the moment he dried his face and then tried to comb his short golden hair, because, by the time they reached home it was a mess again, truly one could never expect to get so dirty and clingy after walking in the crowd… but it really happened.
The moment he went downstairs to help his mother set things ready for Thalion was to be back soon form the smithy, he heard a knocking on the door and so, expecting it to be his father he jovially walked toward the door and then opened it smiling though his smile turned into a grin the moment he realized who it really was.
“Veryan, it is I, Serena. I know it has been a while since we have seen each other, but I finally decided to visit,"
He chuckled lightly and turned to tell his mother, “Mother, I believe you best make that extra meal for we will have lunch in merry company.” He then turned and opened the door fully and embraced Serena warmly while still chuckling, “I cannot believe it took you that long to come back!” He smiled at her and then added, “You must be exhausted, come inside Serena and make yourself at home.” He was so eager to inquire of her whereabouts, health, what she had been up to all this time but then he also remembered it was a long journey so she must be in need of food and rest.
“Do not worry about your horse, I’ll settle him with our own back at the stables after lunch.” He added closing the door behind them and beckoning her to sit at the table and serving some water in a clean wooden glass he later offered her.
