1st Attempt It was a cold winter day, she had just been reading on healing herbs and those new abilities of hers. Marlin wisely advised her to study a book in particular which had belonged to the druids long ago and which contained most of the abilities and spells she would use especially for healing. Though she confessed she loved using natural means to heal persons, an extra ability on that sort could always come in handy. Now she had to practice what Merlin taught her. She was truly impressed with the amount of patience Merlin had when he taught and the wisdom that emerged from such a young lad. She felt honoured to have been chosen for one of his pupils and though she was now well aware on how careful she had to be when it came to handling her magic abilities in Camelot, she was still glad she had left her homelands in order to finds herself a bliss such new experiences. She was holding the book in her right hand as she sat on a strong willow’s branch and looked at the glazed river. When it came to her garments getting dirty or wet for a bit so that she could enjoy herself she did not mind much, not that anyone would show up and notice anyway. She had opened a page on the balance of magic, for you could not simply make use of any remedy or spell as you feel like it, it always affected the land about you and the life of others, in other words, it should never be used lightly. She sighed as she read on but then came to realize there was something amiss in the horizon. There seemed to be a constant call for her, when she looked at the sky and spotted Dyrn, her silver-winged falcon, she smiled and then raised an arm for him to perch on it. The falcon did so ever gently and then looked at her, she caressed it’s feathered stomach for a moment before she raised her arm and allowed Dyrn to take off and show her where he wanted her to go. As she lifted the edges of her dress so she could run faster she then ran following Dyrn’s guiding wings until she was well immersed in the woods and it became harder for her to see Dyrn, though she could hear him squeaking at her. The moment he perched upon a tree she saw with amazement a most beautiful kind of doe, she had never seen anything like it, especially when the horns seemed so beautiful, whiter than snow and with a light of their own. Could this be a magical creature? Looking down she realized he was wounded a poisonous dart had attacked him and now he would die, and surely he had been bleeding for long enough so she could not make use of her herbal remedies by now. She sighed and then caressed the animal’s snout before she remembered one of Merlin’s spells. Could this work now? She knew, however, that if she made use of it, she would be much weakened for it was a strong spell and she was just a beginner, however desperate times called for desperate measures and surely she could not let such beautiful young animal die! She opened the page and read for a moment before she gathered some snow and placed it on the wound making sure not to hurt the animal before she extended her hands and a light green light emanated form her hands, she was all alone in the woods so no one had to know, besides if anyone was nearby Dyrn would have warned her. She slowly felt the energy flow from her and nature into the animal. Slowly she felt weaker and the animals regained strength. Once the wound was sealing and the snow anesthetized the zone, she quickly removed the dart and with greater effort healed the doe. She watched the animal soon enough stand up and when looking around leave at full gallop. She then leaned her back against a tree feeling weaker than ever before, as if she would pass out after such bold attempt.

A very good first post Enide, I love the concept and it's perfect to demonstrate her ability as a beginner, because the magic fatugued her. You have now reached the level of novice. Congrats!

OOC: I'm terribly sorry, I just could not stop myself in this topic lol hope you don't mind! 2nd Attempt “It is not by muscle, speed, or physical dexterity that great things are achieved, but by reflection, force of character, and judgment”. - Marcus Tullius Cicero-What is speed for many? To some it could be the means to evade a mortal blow; for others the way to escape a most perilous destiny; a lesser group loves feeing that adrenaline rush that comes with speed, with risking your life in the most dark of adventures, it is like a bump of energy they need to keep on living. For an ever lesser group, where Enide is included, it is a charming thing, of great importance and admiration yet they do not come near it, well Enide does whenever she goes horseback riding and it is the one feeling that helps her overcome the hardships of a patriarchal society. However, she was to realize that her normal notions of speed were only the beginning of a greater talent or gift. Of course that was expected, wasn’t it? Since little could people foresee what was to happen the very next day, nor what was to become of them… well people like Enide that is, who did not possess any kind of psychic abilities. However life is much better that way, isn’t it? The thrill of waking up the next morning not knowing what was about to happen, good or bad, there is always something going on… something not necessarily big or too great to affect many, even the smallest thing as to break a tree branch or kill a fly could have great repercussions in the world around, though not everyone knew that, or cared. At this moment Enide had been reading and scribbling about ‘speed’, one of the main abilities she possessed as a ‘white magic’ practitioner. She was so intrigued about it, she wondered how far she could go with that, in fact she had been studying said ability of hers ever since she ran away form home, she had come to the realization that it would be a truly useful weapon as well as a burden, it depended on how a person came to view such abilities, it could be used for the right reasons or the wrong ones. There was a parchment with some trains of ink on her right, where various books lied open, and there was another scroll where she had been writing, so far, it seemed to be a self-attained journal of the finding of new abilities and what they made her do, she had this idea that if she was to learn more abut her abilities she had to keep every important detail written somewhere for future references and study. She had not written much for now, however it said so far, the following: I have come to terms with my newly found ability and I hence believe it deserves a chapter of its own. Therefore I shall dedicate extensive study to such advantageous gift, which also pleases me the most of possess, even though it is limited to my own persona it is helpful an at the same time thrilling. Under the circumstances of my wellbeing and successful escapade, it was my only escapade.
SPEED:: Defined as the ability to move quickly and undetected slowing time somehow. This was the last trait I developed realizing that, as I read on the kinds of magic, it was one of the most common manifestations of white magic. The ability awakened one day when I confronted grave danger in my homelands and had to run away, somehow the villain stood there frozen, as if it had all come to a stop while I could not understand it for I was running away at that time...There were no more words now, however, since the Lady had fallen asleep, it was late in the afternoon and her daily chores, which she still wasn’t quite used to, would tend to tire her, besides it was close past midnight now, and most were sound asleep. The moon was radiant, and a weak candle illuminated the desk where Enide had been scribbling. Proud of possessing carpenter skills and having befriended most of the servants in the Castle she managed to build, with some help, a small table for her studies, as well as make sure she was far enough not to disturb anyone’s so deserved rest. Her face seemed in deep and gentle sleep, no contorts in her face were pressed or in pain, her head gracefully rested on her shoulders while her hand had slightly dropped the quilt and her beautiful strains of amber-brown hair had fallen on her back with the gentle caress of the wins that scooped through one of the windows. She dreamt a dream that however would not be pleasant, though would grant her more understanding of her recently developed ability of ‘speediness’. ”Fortune and happiness will be your friends once you marry him, you will be the richest couple in the realms and you will also be envied by everyone, the eyes of the world will be upon you both.”
“On ‘him’ more like it, and who said I would take him for a husband?”
“Bite your tongue child! Least should a lady or maid hear such word sin the mouth of a Lady and take them for teachings of wisdom when they truly aren’t.”
Enide smirked as the maids combed her long strains of hair and then said turning to look at her mother, as she stood up, her hair done and shining with the candlelight, she approached her mother and said, “I would take such words for wisdom. I do not boast mother, but marriage to a complete stranger is the last thing I have in mind, especially when said person is a tyrant.”
There was a sudden knock on the door and two maids entered the room and could not speak for they had been running for a long time. Finally one of them managed to say, “They… are… here…” Enide’s eyes moved toward her mother’s before a scream was heard and great turmoil seemed to fill the castle… The dream traveled… It metamorphosed into the future of that event, into the main reason for her to admire this now gift of hers… Without thinking it twice she packed the essentials for a journey, she did not know where she was going or how long she would be traveling but she needed to be the furthest away form home as possible. Yes, she knew quite well what she was doing, she was leaving her noble household and venturing into the wilderness instead of taking that man for a husband. Suddenly a hand pushed her against the wall and she gasped finding herself facing Anwar, son of Lord Bedwyr of the kingdom of Powys. She quickly pushed him away from her and said, “What gives you the right to act in such a manor and sneak into the house without permission? Surely you must know how improper it is for you to hassle the daughter of Lord Arvel.”
He laughed and then said, “Listen Enide, I am tired of your pretentiousness and if you do not marry me in boring and normal circumstances I will make sure you do so in the worst of ways.” His eyes darkened as he looked into her eyes, it filled her with horror for this man thirsted for power and did not mind turning into a ruffian in order to achieve so. She frowned and then suddenly raised a hand to stop him from holding her and quickly though she needed to run, to flee, to be fast, steadfast. If only she could be fast! And before she could realize she felt energy emanate form her body, suddenly she was in the stables, and everything seemed motionless. What had just happened?...She quickly opened her eyes and found herself, amidst dawn, feeling the chill of the approaching morning. She had fallen asleep again, she rubbed her neck and stood up, the problem with that ability is it sometimes left her forgetting where she was or what she had been doing there in the first place. Also she still did not control it so she had to really concentrate in order for it to work. She went for a long walk near the Lake when she saw a young boy running away from a man on a horse with a sword raised, she gasped, if the man reached the boy he would then kill him! But what could she do? Think Enide, think! Speed! It had to work, she had to master it now, the time had come, and so she began running in the opposite direction so that she could reach the boy running in front of him and as she pressed her feet she wished, with all her heart she could be fast enough to avoid the great blade that raise din order to stab the eleven-year-old. And then… It happened… Suddenly she found herself pulling the boy and both falling into the lake and the man on the horse was unable to see where they had gone. Enide held her breath and covered the boy’s mouth in order to avoid the sight of bubbles in the water, the knight was confused and annoyed, and he surely had seen nothing when Enide moved and the world around her stopped. Once the knight was well out of sight she let go of the boy and both surfaced with a long gasp, breathing in as much air as they could handle. “Thank you…” was all the boy muttered, Enide simply smiled at him and held on to the nearest strong pebble, for though she was bold she did not know how to swim that well.

Wow Enide, well, you've reached the level of apprentice with flying colours! I love how your training post spanned so much, and I think it gave a real insight into her character and history at the same time.
