Yeah, I got a bit bored and thought I’d create a thread to get us all talking about Merlin! Personally my own favourite episode for series 1 is the Labyrinth of Gedref. It’s a hard one; I loved pretty much the whole of series 1! I just thought that episode was amazingly written and I loved how Arthur went all soppy and cute at the end as he saw the error of his ways. And I loved how it had a nice ending and the Unicorn came back to life again ;’) Aww. <3 What do you all think? What’s your favourite episode for series 1? (If you can’t remember what happened in every episode like me, I recommended going on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merlin_(TV_series) and flicking through the episodes!!)

Hmm, it took me a while to choose because I've pretty much forgotten the first series- it seems so long ago! I chose Gates of Avalon because I really liked Sophia's character- but there were so many good episodes...
I need to rewatch the boxset!

Wow, this was hard. I loved every single episode, aha. I finally chose The Moment of Truth because I loved Merlin in this one, although Arthur was a jerk at the end... Merlin really grew up in this episode, in my opinion. He set his priorities as well. I just loved the character development. <3

I choose The Dragon's Call just because I love the witch singing scene. I still think that was the coolest part in the series. I love how all the cobwebs grow and the lights go out. The song was awesome and really well sung as well. I used to listen to it all the time.

Hah, I loved that episode too! Plus the fact Eve Myles was in it, sort of makes me like it even more, talking to a BIG Torchwood fan here Has to be my second favourite episode anyway ^^

Okay, well my vote is for The Poisoned Chalice.
This is my favorite episode of all time let alone the first season. I love the way Arthur helps Merlin, it really shows their true friendship.

I'm with Adela May on this one. I loved the Poisoned Chalice.

I chose 'The Beginning of the End' because it was such a torturous episode for poor Merlin.
It demonstrated his good heart and willingness to do what is right, no matter the consequences. He also proved himself to be a good man by helping to save Mordred, even knowing (vaguely) that he would be the downfall of Arthur.

I simply cannot choose! They are all so amazing! The Poisoned Chalice was rather good, though. I loved the way Arthur cared so much for Merlin.
