Chase sat in the branches of a beech tree. He had always liked high places. Just being so far above others and being able to see almost everything that went on had always allowed him some measurer of enjoyment when he was bored. Not to mention he could think clearer away from the annoying people that populated just about everywhere he went.
That wasn't why he was here though. He had come up here to practice his magic away from any prying eyes. He concentrated for a moment attempting to connect with nature before murmuring, "Hwesta"
Instead of a breeze hitting a squirrel jumping beneath him like he had planned it instead pushed aside the branch where the squirrel had been about to land. The squirrel missed the branch as it swung away.
Chase cursed under his breath. That was the third time he had missed. What was he doing wrong? He had read in the books at the magicians guild that he was supposed to connect with nature. Why couldn't he control where the stupid wind went? In fact it seemed like he was getting worse since he had joined the guild.
It came to him in a burst of inspiration. The books were wrong. Maybe some people used elemental by attempting to become one with nature but not Chase. He didn't have to try and associate with the wind, all he needed to do was order it to do what he wanted.
"Hwesta" Chase tried again knowing that this time he would succeed. He watched as the squirrel lower down on the tree suddenly found itself pushed a foot off the tree.
After spending the rest of the day training Chase returned home sure that it wouldn't be long until his name became revered throughout the land as one of the strongest mages of all time.

Chase walked out towards the forest feeling quite happy despite the damp weather. He was wearing a new blue shirt that had been tailored specificity to fit him. That however wasn't the reason for his joy. He had already been in the guild a week and he had already been promoted to the level of novice. He was sure it wouldn't be long until he became a full mage of the guild. Then he would get his revenge on the Dreamer kid.
He pushed the thoughts of revenge to the back of his mind as he entered the forest. That wasn't why he was here. He needed to train more if he was ever going to go up more levels in the guild. He had recently found the perfect place to train. It was a small pond in a secluded part of the woods where he could practice without interruption.
He reached the area and sat down on a rock that perched on the edge of the pond. He wispered, "Hwesta." A breeze rippled the surface of the lake. So he still had control over the wind. He had been told however that most elemental mage's had more then one element. That was the real reason he had found the pond. So that he could practice with water.
Chase tried contacting his magic and whispered "Asca nen duin." directing his magic from him through the wind and into the water. The water in the pond sloshed back and forth a little but didn't turn into a whirlpool like he had wanted. What was wrong? He tried again "Asca nen duin." Once more the water barely sloshed. Why? Why couldn't he do it?
Chase calmed himself down and tried to think about it. What had he done wrong? Normally he simply took a second to connect with his magic and then spoke the words that entered his head. Why didn't that work here? What was different between wind and water? They were virtually the same. Both were fluid and could change their shape easily. Really the only difference was that water was denser. Could that be it?
Chase tried once more this time pushing harder with his magic and feeding his anger into it. Imagining his magic passing from him into the wind and into the water below. "Asca nen duin." While the water certainly did churn more than before it didn't seem to be enough.
Chase once more concentrated on what he had done wrong. While it seemed that he certainly did need to take a more hard line with water than wind it wasn't enough. What else had he done wrong?
A light drizzle of rain started as he thought it over. As the rain lighted against his skin the realization came to him. He had been doing it all wrong. Instead of trying to use his magic directly on the water he had been trying to transfer it from the wind to the water. He had added in an unnecessary step that drained its force. He should have simply put it directly into the water.
With his realization in mind Chase tried once more knowing that this time it was going to work "Asca nen duin." The water in the pond slowly started churning at first randomly and then slowly gaining order and speed into a whirlpool. Chase fed more and more of his magic into it trying to get it larger and faster. Instead however exhaustion ended his attempt as he collapsed exhausted back onto the rock.
Chase ignored his exhaustion in his glee at his achievement. Sure he hadn't been able to keep it up for long but he had still done it. He had managed to learn a second element to go along with his first. One day soon his name would be heard throughout the land as, The Storm of Camelot. Chase liked that idea.
Tired but elated Chase picked himself up and returned to the guild.

Chase rode out towards the mountains. He had been riding for most of the day and hoped to arrive soon. He had wanted to get away from Camelot for awhile. That Dreamer fellow had made life at the guild uncomfortable and Chase would do anything to escape from his fathers overprotective servants. They thought he was out on a walk. In reality he was going to spend a day training in one of the caves on the mountain side.
Half an hour later Chase arrived at the mountains and fifteen minutes after that he found a good cave with a pool of water in the lower section. True it was dank and dark but Chase needed there to be water if he was going to train.
He was about to start a fire using flint a tinder when he realized that this was the perfect opportunity to try to learn a new element. Unlike when he first tried to control water he thought about the differences between his current elements and fire.
The main differences he realized were that wind and water were both very passive but powerful elements that you couldn't really get rid of, fire however was very hungry and ate everything in its path but at the same time didn't last very long unless it had food.
So instead of steady control like he used for water and wind he would need a more brief burst of power. Keeping all this in his mind he whispered "Nar lhach" A small fireball burst from his hands into the wood pile. It wasn't more then a foot in diameter but he could work on that later. Now he could practice what he had come here for.
Chase walked farther back into the cave until he reached a section that was flooded with water. The main reason he had come here was to try to mix water and air and create a cloud. He couldn't do this at the pond he had used to train at because he couldn't tell if he had made a cloud or not since it had simply spread out and vanished. Here in the cave however there was no where for it to go.
He wondered how to start. Should he try pushing the water into the air somehow and then telling the air to accept it or was it the other way round. He briefly considered it for a moment before laughing at himself. What he needed to do was not use two spells but to use only one that would have the same affect.
He decided to just go with the flow and opened himself up to his magic "Nen sûl lain tri" The water started frothing as if suddenly shook up and the wind increased around Chase. A light sprinkling of water now covered Chase and everything around him but that was all. He tried again with the same results
What had he done wrong? Chase asked himself before almost laughing at how often he wondered that with magic. Thinking it through he looked at all the possible variables remembering all his previous training sessions.
First he thought once more about the difference between wind and water. They were incredibly similar except that water was heavier and denser. Was that the problem? Was the water to heavy to mix with the air? Surely that couldn't be it though for some water had indeed entered the air he could tell that much. Also didn't water normally enter the air without help. So what was wrong?
Chase went to sleep that night still dumbfounded. He woke up the next morning shivering cold and covered in dew. Once more he muttered "Nar lhach" and a small fireball lighted the fire burning away the water on the stick he had gathered. It struck him like lightning. That's what he had done wrong. Sure water sometimes entered the air without help but not very much of it did. If you wanted a large amount of water to get in the air you needed to heat it.
Without bothering to cook breakfast he ran to the back of the cave. Once more he accessed his magic and commanded " Úr nen sûl lain tri" It was almost the same thing he had done last time but this time he added some heat to the mix. Suddenly it was raining inside the cave and Chase was ecstatic . The spell was almost the same thing he had done last time but this time he added some heat to the mix. Sure it wasn't enough to get the water even close to boiling but the results were obvious. He had finally managed to conjure rain.
Chase spent the rest of the day attempting to refine his new ability. By the time the cave ran out of water Chase could keep the clouds he formed from raining and could control where they went.
He started home on his horse that night more confident then ever. Sure Dreamer might be trying to make life difficult for him but two could play at that game. Chase would get his own connections in the guild and he wouldn't rest until Dreamers name was mud. From now on it was Chase's time.

Chase once more headed out to the clearing in the woods. Today was the day where he would learn to fly. He would defy gravity itself. While he had little interest in actually flying he had discovered that it was impossible to manipulate the winds that controlled the weather from the ground. They were simply to far away for his magic to reach. He had tried for days to stretch his magic farther but it simply hadn't worked. If he wanted to achieve his goal he would have to get closer.
He walked to the center of the clearing. Now how would he do this? Obviously it would have to be some sort of wind technique but he couldn't just summon up a large wind to blow himself up. He would simply end up hurting himself. It might be worth a try though just to see what would happen.
"Well no pain no gain" He thought to himself. "Nor athan tri anor" He declared. A huge wind swirled around him tearing at his clothes. The wind tore into him as he slowly rose a foot above the ground. He quickly cancelled the magic before the wind tore him to shreds.
He sat there gasping for breath for a moment before collecting himself. Well just as he had suspected that didn't work. It had been worth a shot though. Unfortunately now almost his entire body was aching. Strangely enough his feet didn't hurt. He though about that for awhile before realising that his shoes had protected the bottom of his feet. Could he use that? What if he tried to concentrate the force on his shoes?
Once more he murmured "Nor athan tri anor" This time trying to concentrate all the energy onto the bottom of his feet. He shot up into the air corkscrewing around wildly before reducing the magic and settling to the ground. His feet hurt and his new shoes looked decrepit. Apparently they couldn't withstand the amount of pressure he had put on them. However the fact remained that it had worked. Sure he hadn't been able to control it but that would come in time.
He thought, but by the time he limped to town exhausted with his shoes torn to pieces, he hadn't made any progress. Ordering a pair of new shoes with a metal plate on the bottom he continued on to the guild. Maybe there would be something in the guild's library that could explain what he had done wrong. By the time he arrived at the library and sat down however his exhaustion overtook him and he feel asleep.
Waking up the next morning Chase realised where he was and cursed. All that time wasted and on top of it he had made a fool of himself by sleeping in the library. He quickly got back to studying the books.
He was just about to give up when he ran across a chapter about enchanting objects. He wasn't sure that he understood it correctly since it was worded strangely but it sounded like with the right materials and a lot of time you could give magical properties to otherwise normal objects. With this he could imbue with the ability to fly. Sure it looked complex but Chase felt confident he could figure it out. He rushed out to get all the ingredients he would need.
He returned two hours later with his new shoes, and chalk. Using the chalk he quickly drew a pentacle on the floor with the shoes as the center. He examined the book closer and wrote arcane symbols around the outside of the pentacle. By this point he was just following the instructions in the book he wasn't even sure what he was writing.
Finally all the preparations were finished. The pentacle was complete and he was ready. Reading directly from the book he chanted "Eleka nahmen nahmen ah tum ah tum eleka nahmen, eleka nahmen nahmen ah tum ah tum eleka nahmen"
The pentagram on the floor started glowing and increased in brightness as Chase chanted. Suddenly there was a flash of light so bright Chase's eyes were temporarily blinded. Shaking his head attempting to clear the after images of the light from his mind he examined his shoes. They were glowing slightly at first but even as Chase watched the glow diminished to leave the shoes looking no different then they had looked before the enchantment.
He reached out a hand to touch them. The second his hand came into contact with the leather he felt the thrumming as if the shoes were buzzing with energy. The enchantment had worked!
Chase sprinted outside and put the shoes on. He could feel the energy coursing through his feet. "De" He whispered tentatively. So subtly that he didn't even notice it at first his feet came off the ground. It had worked! "De" Said Chase once more this time with more authority. This time he shot upwards. This he could do. It wasn't even that hard to control.
It was then that the fatigue of enchanting the shoes hit Chase. He suddenly found himself exhausted with barely any magical reserves. He guided himself down to the street before once more collapsing onto the ground.
Two hours later Chase was found by a servant and carried up to his room at the guild smiling even in his dreams.

A storm was brooding over Camelot. It was midday outside but it looked like it was just before nightfall. The air had that tingling feeling of the calm before a storm. Anyone who had any sense was staying inside and locking their doors.
Chase hurried through the streets to the guild where he had been summoned by Merlin himself. Normally Chase would have been ecstatic. After all Merlin himself was calling Chase to the guild. However Chase could feel that something was wrong. He couldn't explain it but the storm simply didn't feel natural. For lack of a better way to describe it the storm seemed artificial.
Merlin was waiting outside the guild when Chase arrived. Merlin wondered to himself if this was a good idea. While it was true the Chase had grown immensely in his months since he joined the guild he was still rather young to even try to become a full mage. Not only that but the boys attitude worried Merlin he was far to cocky and had little respect for those around him. However he had allowed Dreamer to take the test and pass so he had to give Chase the chance as well. Hopefully Chase would fail and learn some humility. Then Merlin would be able to take care of the problem.
"You are about to take the test that will allow you to become a full mage" Merlin said slightly unwillingly. Chase ignored the tentative note in Merlin voice too delighted by what he had said to listen to the undertones. Finally he, Chase, was being recognized as the genius he was. Not only that unless his calculations were off he was taking his test a couple of days faster then Dreamer had.
"Your Task" Said Merlin "Is to dispel this storm. You can do it in whatever way you like but I should warn you somebody, or something outside of Camelot created this storm with the intention of causing mass destruction. So expect some resistance." Just as Merlin had predicted Chase was to excited about the chance to advance that he barely listened to Merlin. "Get rid of the storm? Got it" Chase answered.
"De" He murmured activating his enchantment. He soared up towards the dark and forbidding clouds. Now how would he get rid of this storm. However if he couldn't than his dream of manipulating the weather. While he would have preferred to start manipulating something easier he would just have to do it. His dream would not disappear here.
Chase flew through the bottom layer of cloud. The wind up here was quite strong looked like it could get troublesome. He could feel the energy thrumming through the cloud. Within the next ten minutes the storm would break and any chance Chase had of getting rid of it would have vanished.
Chase knew instantly that dispelling the storm was impossible. There was simply too much energy. Instead what he would have to do was redirect all the energy around him away from Camelot. But how was he supposed to do that? Chase decided to just trying blowing a wind in the opposite direction of the wind currently swirling around him. He doubted it would work but it might be useful to see what happened.
"Athan faun tri sûl" He chanted throwing his magic into the spell. Immediately he could sense the two winds conflict. His magically enhanced wind turned the other wind into the direction his wind was going in, however he could tell that this wouldn't affect the storm much. All his wind was doing was changing the direction of one small portion. To affect the entire storm Chase would have to create one about a hundred times bigger which was obviously impossible.
Chase continued flying deeper into the storm. Surely he could use what he had learned somehow. As he neared the center of the storm the wind started increasing till finally it felt like he had broken through some invisible wall and the wind suddenly stopped.
What had happened Chase wondered. Why had the wind finally stopped. Could it be that he had arrived at the very center of the storm where the rumoured "Calm spot" Was. He had heard that in the center of the greatest storms there was a spot where everything was completely calm. Chase couldn't believe that the stories were true. He had always dismissed them as old wives tales. This he could use.
Chase felt confident that from this circle he would be able to control the entire rest of the storm. All he needed to do was take control of this small section of the storm and the rest would be forced to follow.
"Athan faun tri sûl" Chase chanted feeling the magic flow our of him as he spoke This time directing it at the veritable wall of wind surrounding the bubble of calm. He immediately felt the conflicting forces far stronger then the ones he had sensed earlier. Chase poured more magic into his spell trying to force the winds under his control.
The two opposing winds hung in balance for a moment before finally Chase's magic won out. Now he had control of the center of the storm. He was just beginning to believe that he had done it when he felt a sudden turbulence coming from the side of the storm. Sensing the lightning forming before he could see it he yelled "Laer Maeg" He felt a sudden tiredness as the lightning stopped hitting his quickly formed shields.
Chase realized it the second the the lightning hit his shields that lightning hadn't been natural. It appeared that the mysterious mage who had created the storm in the first place was finally making his move. How was Chase supposed to be fight a mage while trying to control the storm? Unless of course he combined the two.
It was this realization that made Chase realize just how much power he controlled. All he needed to do was direct all the energy against the mage. He would be getting ride of the storm and destroying the enemy mage as well. It would be killing two birds with one stone.
Chase followed the trail of magic the lightning had left pulling the storm along with him. There he could sense the mage upon a tall hill outside of Camelot. Chances were it was from there that he had created the storm. Chase couldn't help but admire the mans handiwork unfortunately for him it was Chase now not the man who controlled the storm.
Another lightning bolt splashed across Chase's shield. This time however he murmered "Dae téma" Redirecting the lightning back towards the man on the hill. The man also had shields and the lightning had no affect upon him. Chase felt his energy drain
Before the man could prepare some new surprise Chase decided to turn the force of the storm upon the man " Téma asca ar nuquerna aha tûr" He felt the remainder of his magic drain as his spell forced the storms center and consequently the rest of the storm to bear down upon the man on the hill top. Lightning flashed around Chase and the man as the storm grew more and more concentrated finally turning into a giant whirlwind that was far out of Chase's control. He had miscalculated the storms power. All he had meant to do was give the storm's energy a little push towards the man instead it had grown out of his control. Both he and the man were merely insects inside a spinning tornado that was far out of either of their powers to control.
The man found time for one more spell before being thrown out the top of tornado. Chase was struck by a fireball and propelled out of the whirlwind by the force of the blast. He fell like a burning star down from the sky.
Only to be caught by Merlin. Merlin murmured a spell of healing over Chase. Just as Merlin had believed the boy was to young to take the test. He had almost died and even with his spell would take weeks to recover. However it was true that the boy had managed to stop the storm and had only messed up when he had attempted to use the enormous forces of nature upon his enemy. What to do?
OC:Wow that took forever to do. Anyway here it is Chase's Magehood level training post. Please feel free to ask me to edit it. In fact I wouldn't even mind if you refuse it since that would probably turn Chase bad. Although I wasn't planing for that to happen for awhile it could happen now. Thank you for reading it.

This training post had a very good, clear idea behind it and it was a really novel idea to have Chase fight against elemental magic. You played Merlin well. It's definitely accepted! You have now reached the level of Mage! Congratulations.

Chase was not happy. His father had come for a short trip and had locked him in his room for not being home at his arrival. His dad had apperantly been disappointed at his behaviour. Apparently he spent far to much time wandering the woods and not enough trying to create connections with the nobility. Chase had become to rebellious and this was his dad's way of punishing him. Locking him in him in his room and putting a guard at the door so Chase wouldn't be tempted to use magic to escape.
Chase desperately wished he could simply fly out the window but they had been barred for years so that no one would be able to sneak into the house. While he could probably break the bars with his magic it would be too obvious and he would only end up in more trouble. But he desperately needed to train. Dreamer had recently started learning and new form of magic and Chase was eager to catch up. He felt like he had reached the limit of the elemental magics.
Well if he couldn't leave to train he would simply train here. Chase reached into his magic carefully examining it as he drew it out. Recently his magic had started to feel slightly different. Not wrong simply different. Could it perhaps be a sign that it was adjusting itself so he could learn a new form?
Chase brought out the altered magic wondering what he could do with it. He wasn't even sure if he was correct in his assumptions that it was a new form of magic. Well all he could do was try. Chase directed the magic at the guard and said the words that came to him "Cysgu nawr" The second the words left his mouth he could tell something was different. The language sounded totally different from what he normally spoke.
Chase rushed to the door to see what had happened to the guard. At first he couldn't see anything but then a noise directly below him alerted him to the guards position. The guard had fallen asleep directly by the door. Chase had done it! He had started a new magic. Just thinking of what he could do with it overwhelmed him. But first he needed to get out of here.
Chase reached through the small window of his door and grabbed the keys from the guard. He quickly unlocked the door and headed for the woods. No one could stop him. Not his dad and certainly not Dreamer.
-Edit- Oh yeah I forgot to say Chase's new magic is dark magic

Chase walked towards the guild with an extra spring in his step. His father had finally left. His week of grounding was finally over. Not that it had been very effective since Chase's new magic allowed him to put the guards to sleep. Eventually his dad had been forced to watch Chase himself. While Chase probably could have overcome the various talismans his father wore against magic he didn't want a direct confrontation between himself and his father. Someday Chase would prove to his dad just how much more powerfulhe was than him but Chase refused to face against his father when he hadn't even crushed Dreamer yet.
He finally arrived at the guild and headed up to the library. He wanted to confirm a few more facts about his new magic. He was pretty certain it was dark magic which delighted him. True those who practised dark magic were considered shady but Chase didn't care. His new magic just felt so right. Even more than his elemental magic had. After all here was a magic much more suited to his personality.
He arrived at the library and pulled out several books on black magic. After skimming through one he found a section that seemed interesting. It said that black magic users could manipulate others vision either making them blind or simply altering their vision. It was perfect! Using this Chase would be able to manipulate anyone into seeing only what he wanted them too.
He whispered "Tywyllwch" and directed the spell towards a teen sitting on the other side of the room. Exactly what happened Chase didn't know but instead of the teen being unable to see Chase when he glanced up from his book he suddenly started and started looking at Chase with fear in his eyes. Chase quickly cancelled the spell
"Wow!" The teen exclaimed "That was awesome you just turned into a giant...Empty spot. Can you do that again?"
Chase cursed under his breath ignoring the teen. What had he done wrong? He definitely had manipulated the teen's vision but instead of making the teen unable to see him like he had planned he had turned into a giant space of blackness.
Perhaps that was it Chase realised. He had caste the spell with the intent of disappearing. Which he had, just not in the way he had intended. He shouldn't try to make himself disappear so much as have the stuff behind him show through. After all if all he did was make himself disappear then there would be a giant black spot in their vision. What he needed to do know was make the teen simply see the stuff behind Chase but not Chase himself.
"Dallineb rhannol" Chase murmured. He could see the teen's reaction immediately. He suddenly froze and then started looking around the room trying to understand what had happened.
Chase stood up silently and slipped out of the library. He had done it all he needed now was a little more practice and he would perfect his newest trick. He strode out of the guild imagining his future.

Accepted, you are now an apprentice. It was good how Chase had to think on his feet to get his magic to work for him, and including NPC's always makes things more interesting. Remember to develop his magic, or introduce a different aspect, with each post. Keep up the good work.

OOC:Note I am not trying to copy Dreamer's idea. I had already planned on doing this before he wrote his post and I don't feel like replanning another post. Oh and this is a work in progress might take some time to finish.
Chase sat in the branches of a beech tree. Ironically enough it was the same tree in which he had first trained. To think that he had somehow found his way back here. He remembered how weak and naive he had been back then. He had learned much since then. In the months since his arrival at Camelot he had already grown to become one of the most powerful mages in the guild. Back then he might have been satisfied with that but now Chase knew better. It was impossible to have enough power to do all one needed.
Luckily for Chase however he only needed enough power to destroy Dreamer. Every time Chase thought his hate for the mage might finally be calming down something happened that reignited his passionate hate of the teen. He hated to remember his most recent mission where Dreamer had gone out of his way to show off. Not only had he simply been infuriating the entire time but at the end he had killed the black mage. Chase had already caught the mage in his spell and had been waiting for the mage to drown when Dreamer's spell had killed the man.
Chase brought himself back to the problem at hand. Chase had taken a slight break and Dreamer had managed to get two ranks ahead of Chase in the guild Ranking. Chase couldn't forgive himself for his laxness in allowing Dreamer to get so far ahead. Chase promised himself he would work tirelessly until he was ahead of Dreamer. He would prove that Dreamer was no better than the ones he called "Monsters" Dreamer simply was better at hiding it.
Chase once more brought himself back to the task a hand. He was here to train not contemplate Dreamer's vileness. Dreamer was an acid in his mind that kept pulling Chase back to him. He had never realized just how much revulsion one could feel for someone. N Chase almost started to continue on with the Dreamer thought but caught himself again. ow he was here to try and see if he could poison knives. He had read about it in one of the old books at the library. Once he had found those books useless but recently they had actually had some useful pointers to using dark magic.
Chase took out one of his many knives wondering how he would make it poisonous. He tried simply reaching into his magic "llafn tywyll" He chanted. The blade turned jet black and seemed to eat up the light surrounding it.
Chase wondered if it was poisonous. His spell had certainly done something to the blade but he wasn't sure if he had poisoned it. He looked around for something he could throw the blade at. A squirrel running along the tree next to his caught his eye. He remembered how the last time he had been here he used wind to knock a squirrel off the branch. He threw the dagger and watched its path as it barely scrapped the squirrel. A perfect throw.
He watched the squirrel fell to the ground but got back up and ran away. If the dagger was poisoned then it wasn't as effective as Chase had wanted it to be. He dropped down from the tree and picked up the dagger and put it in his pocket. Who knew someday it might be useful.
Chase decided to try again this time imagining what he wanted to happen. He imagined the animal stopping and falling to the ground as it got hit by the dagger, "Dagr parlysu" He chanted as his magic flowed into the dagger. This dagger didn't change color nearly as much as the previous one merely turning a couple of shades darker.
Chase looked around for something to throw it it. A rabbit running by caught his eye. He aimed and threw the dagger just barely nicking the furry beast. The beast kept running for a second and then started slowing down and started hopping around in a panic finally the beast stopped moving.
Chase walked over to examine the beast. He laughed when he felt the animal's pulse. The blade had done exactly what he had imagined it would. It had frozen the beast, or more correctly paralysed it. Well that would definitely be useful sometime.
Chase decided to try one last time. Now he knew what he needed to do. "Dagr gwenwyn marwolaeth" He chanted this time imagining the beasts falling over dead as the poison entered their veins. The blade glowed for a second before looking exactly as it had. However Chase could sense the magic in the blade.
Chase saw a deer on the other side of the clearing. It was just barely in his range but Chase knew he could make the throw. He threw it and the blade clipped the deer's ear. The deer looked puzzled for a moment. before suddenly it went crazy running around as if trying to rid itself of its ear. Then after a minute it suddenly stopped and fell to the ground. Chase could tell just by looking at it that it was dead. This was the power he had desired. Now he just would need to find more ways to do things.
Chase returned home that night leaving a trail of animals behind him. He could now paralyse kill or cause hallucinations to any animal that got scratched by one of his assorted knives. He was excited but knew that he would need more power if he wanted to defeat Dreamer. Power was everything.
