I thought it might be easier to plan (in the loosest sense possible) a potential RP with someone (or many?) other people here rather than launching straight into a post as my character is a bit misanthropic, and she is originally from France (has only been liviing in England for a year) so for this reason finds initiating conversation very difficult.
Basically she can only really relate to other people on an intellectual level, so any characters who would fit that description (I guess I'm not that likely to find anyone playing a professor or similar here, but anyone whose character loves reading or learning about people would be pretty good!) would be great for her to RP with.
Or alternatively, although she can't use any magic herself, she's very interested in learning as much as she can about it, so anyone RPing a character who can use magic she would definitely find interesting (even if that (originally at least) was for her own selfish interests)
Equally I'd be happy to RP with any character not fitting these descriptions, although Sophie is very withdrawn, and not interested in anything like sport or fighting, so any conversation would probably be disagreeable (although maybe interesting in an antagonistic way?)
