For a time the people of Camelot have seen relative peace under the rule of King Uther Pendragon, who has recently accepted the presence of magic in his realm. In honour of this, a Guild for Magicians has been created alongside the Royal Army, in which existent and new magicians are trained to control their powers and to serve their monarch. His son and heir, the occasionally proud but good-hearted, Prince Arthur Pendragon looks over the Royal Army, creating a band of loyal warriors and knights to protect and serve Camelot. His accident-prone servant and powerful magician Merlin, oversees the Magicians' Guild, alongside several elder mages.
Recently, after a successful harvest in Camelot, the weather about the realm turned more erratic, with numerous storms, powerful winds and unexpected bouts of freezing cold temperatures well before the onset of winter. These conditions have led to a failed harvest in several neighboring kingdoms, such as Gore, who look to Camelot's acceptance of magic as the reason for this. King Urien of Gore believes Uther is using the newfound power of his magicians to weaken the surrounding kingdoms and ultimately gain power, or that it is his lax attitude towards magicians has led to these disturbances. He has sent his daughter the beautiful Lady Sophia [Canon] to Camelot castle in an attempt to woo Prince Arthur, and gain some control over Camelot. Before rashly declaring an outright war, King Urien has put to use the efforts of the Brotherhood, a secret sect of thieves, assassins and dark magicians whose services can be bought against the Pendragons, in a series of minor attacks.
The real reason for all of these weather disturbances? It is magic, but not of a human kind. Whisperings of Dragon magic are fast spreading throughout the people.
Despite all this, medieval life goes on. Nobles flock to Camelot court to mingle in the upper class society, merchant's trade goods, and the magical druids live a peaceful gypsy life-style in the surrounding forests.
What role will you play? Royal or Noble at court? Chivalrous Knight or potent Mage for Camelot? Merchant, Peasant or Low struggling to make a living? Peaceful Druid of the forest, or Brotherhood recruit, out to cause trouble?

Please note:
First and foremost we are a medieval RPG. However we are loosely based on BBC's adaption of the Arthurian Legend's: 'Merlin'(More information can be found at www.bbc.co.uk/merlin/ )
It is very important to note that this is not just a fan-site for the show and only the basic elements have been encompassed. The land is ruled by King Uther, and his son and heir, Prince Arthur, is the same young age as his friend, servant and wizard, Merlin. Magic is not forbidden in this RPG! All of the plots and story lines created on this site will not be based on the show (unless of course you want them to be!)
You do not need to have seen the show to RP in this site. (And many of our members have not.)
If you have any questions about the site, storyline or it's basis on the show then please PM me, or any other member of staff and we'll be happy to help.
Welcome to Camelot, and happy RPing
