Post by Sir Tristan de Braose on Nov 24, 2009 19:01:31 GMT
Name: Tristan de Braose
Age: 23
Sex: Male
Class: Noble-born as he's training to be a knight, currently training to be an Army Soldier.
Appearance:
Height/Weight; Tristan is a fairly tall man standing at about 6 foot or just over. He often finds that his height can get in the way of his duties and jobs as a solider as he finds it fairly difficult to squeeze into small spots if necessary. One of the perks of being the taller sort of person is he can reach things on higher shelves and can look rather intimidating to opponents which he fairly likes. Weight wise, Tristan is extremely fit keeping on top of his physicial health so that he can perform to the best of his abilities. He trains for hours each day so any amount of food that he eats he soon burns off, and thanks to his high metabolic rate he can burn of calories fairly quickly.
Eyes; One of the striking features of Tristan is his eyes. His eye colour is mainly green with tint's of brown making him fairly unique. Unlike others, he finds his eyes as a weakness because it can make him stand out when all he wants to do is hide away from the world not being noticed. Because of this he often chooses to wear a heavy cloak with his hood up to hide his face so that he's not singled out or noticed.
Hair; Tristan's hair mainly remains consistent with little effort in maintaining it. He doesn't really care about his hair and can often be seen in its usually messy 'bed-head' form as he cares more about developing his skills than what he looks like. His hair colour is dark brown and fairly short which is the way he likes it. Also along with his hair, he has a short stubble of a beard he is currently growing. He likes the look of facial hair because he believes it makes him look more threatening and dark, rather than baby-faced and un-intimidating.
Clothing; Tristan can mainly be seen in his uniform, padded garments, chainmail and iron armour plating over his left shoulder and arm and also the red Pendragon crest. When he's not in his uniform he wears mainly green, thin garments and tunics with leather belt straps to hold is weapons. He is als never seen without his pendant displaying his families symbol.

Character:
There are many sides to Tristan, some of these which people never get to see. Because of his job he gives himself a tough exterior to make him seem inpenetrable. He had never liked to make himself look weak so often hides his emotions and never lets life get him down. To the people who know him well, he can be seen as sensitive, honourable and also caring. Yet to most people he's seen as strong, slightly arrogant and threatening although this isn't necessarily who he is.
Strong: Tristan is a strong and able man, using his strengths and abilities to seek out the opposition. One of the striking aspects to his character is his tough exterior which is something he wants to portray. He very rarely lets people in and tries his best to shadow any emotions masking them with arrogance and humour. Being a soldier, he finds it his duty to protect so looking and being 'strong' is only one of the things he feels his duty is to do.
Threatening: Tristan is a very reserved man and very protective towards his king and Camelot. He will do anything to protect them and wouldn't mind laying his life on the line to follow his duty. Tristan will be threatening to anyone who poses a risk and will drive them out until the risk disappears.
Sensitive, kind and caring: Tristan is a very sensitive man, striving to help and care for anyone in need. He not only has royalty and nobles in mind for protection, but as cares what happens to citizens and peasants in Camelot. Because of this, he can be frowned upon by the other soldiers as he can sometimes get his priorities mixed up and is constantly told peasants and citizens don't matter and is not in the job description.
Honourable: Tristan never fails to follow the knights code and is a very honourable man. He likes to be recognised for this talents and likes to take the credit for things he has done well. He also has a slightly arrogant side as well because he is confident within himself and believes that he can do anything he puts his mind to.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths:
- His skill with weapons
- Confidence
- His passion for his job
- Able to talk himself out of dangerous situations
- Fearless and mounds of courage
- Optimism
- His unconditional love for like
Weaknesses:
- He won't hold back if something upsets him and will make his complaints be known
- He can sometimes be foolish as he can act before he thinks
- Due to his lack of fear, he can get himself in stupid/dangerous situations
- His emotions can sometimes get him down
- Arrogance
- His temper' he's quick to fly off the handle
Magic: None
Weaponry Skills: He's very gifted with most weapons. He's striving to become a member of the Cavalry so has familiarised himself with different types of weapons. He's most gifted with a sword although is currently practising to become better with a bow. Because of this along with two swords that he carries, he can be seen with a sterdy bow and a small bundle of arrows. He's also able to wield a dagger.
Character History:
Tristan was given away when he was born as his parents could not afford to keep a baby. They had known a noble family was looking for a child and offered a lot of money for him to be taken off their hands. As far as Aurora was concerned, this was a price she had to pay in order to keep the family on track. Plus she knew Tristan would have a much better life living with Nobles than he ever would with her. Tristan is completely unaware of who his biological family is and has no idea that he has a sister after never being told by his adoptive family.
Tristan had grown up living a very 'cushy' lifestyle having all of his wants and desires catered for. Since a young age it was wanted for him to become a solider so this is what he did. His father taught him the knights code, how to hold a sword properly and also how to ride a horse. As he grew older he developed these many skills and had the perfect package for making a knight and was very passionate and hopeful to achieve this dream.
When Tristan was 18 he took it upon himself to move to Camelot after much persuasion from his uncle. He took a few years getting to know the place, the setting and all about the people who lived there. Tristan liked to be knowledgeable about the place, knowing the ins and outs as he believed it would aid him greatly when he applied for a job as an Army soldier. Thanks to his uncle for the financial support, he owned a small hut and lied low for a few years until he decided to take the risk of becoming a soldier.
Additional Information:
Family:
Biological Mother: Aurora Rose Laymont
Aurora was Tristan's mum. She was an incredibly kind and caring mother, who devoted almost every minute of her life into caring for her children. Unfortunately, he was taken away from his mother at birth, so is unaware that she even existed. When Aurora fell pregant she was unable to look after her son, so gave him away to a family of noblemen and noblewomen who were offering to pay a high price for a baby boy as they were unable to conceive themselves. Tristan is aware that he was adopted yet has no desire to find out who his real parents were.
Biological father: Roderick Rodriguez Laymont
Tristan never knew his father either and is unsware that both is mum and dad have passed away. Ever since he was a child there was a small want and need to find out who his father was yet soon overcame this need and focused on his noble upbringing. His adopted mother and father had told him that his parents were nothing but peasants and he was more than happy to grow up living a life of luxury and happiness than feel the guilt of knowing his parents lives were hard and difficult.
Biological sister: Casalynn Laymont
Tristan is currently unaware of the relation between himself and Casalynn. As he was adopted he has had no contact with his real family and his mother and father are keen for them to be kept apart. They don't want Tristan to be tied down emotionally with family and they are sure that will happen if he ever got into contact with Casalynn. Tristan has never been told about his sister, yet there are certain similarities between the two. They have both inherited aspects of their personalities from their mother and look fairly alike too.
Adopted father: Blancheflor de Braose
Blancheflor de Braose is a noble man, brother of king Mark of Cornwall. He thinks very highly of his family and is very pushy and ambitious for his son. From a young age he has been trained to wield weapons, protect whoever is in need and never show your emotions when working. It had been his fathers wish for him to become a knight so has tried his best to push his son in this direction. He's a proud man and very proud of his son although isn't too quick to admit it. Him and his wife had been trying for a son and had selected a family to give him an heir. He paid the family handsomely in return for Tristan.
Adopted mother: Rivalen de Braose
Tristan's mother is quite a cold, selfish women not too keen on showing any affection she has for her son. She's more the evil step-mother type and gets Tristan to do all the dirty work she can;t be bothered doing. She never connected emotionally to Tristen as she never wanted a son in the first place, and see's no place in her family for Tristan to belong. Becuase of this she tends to take her anger and frustration out on him, being responsible for the distance Tristan puts between himself and his family.
Uncle: King Mark of Cornwall
Tristan is very close to his Uncle and likes to go to him if he has any problems. In his mind he's closer to his uncle than he is with his father and strives to be as good of man as he is. It was his uncle that prompted him to move to Camelot and try to become a Knight there giving him independance and confidence he never thought he'd achieve. He never see's his uncle that much although keeps in touch with letters and gains regular visits from his uncles messenger who grants him gifts and money. It's his uncle that pays for the more expensive sides of being a solider, and he's sure to get the very best weapons and equipment.
Sample Roleplay:
Casalynn had been staring at the slow moving clock whilst she had had to endure what seemed like hours of English. With her head balanced carefully in her hands, she jolted her head upright when she heard the sound of class being dismissed. She gathered all her books and belongings rapidly and herded them into her bag, throwing it over her shoulder and walking quickly out of the room. She was glad that the next lesson she had was something that she enjoyed. She had always loved Art and from a very young age she had always had a gift with the subject. It was one of those talents that you were either good at or disastrously bad at, and it happened to be something that she was rather good at. One of the reasons why she loved art was becuase it was a great way of being able to express yourself. The same with what some people did with writing or poetry, except instead she liked to paint or draw things.
She watched as herds of people flew past her, all banded in their friendship groups. She dropped her eyes to her feet, slightly disappointed that she hadn't made any friends yet. Even though she had been at Forks for a number of weeks, she had hardly spoken to anyone or made any friends. She hated moving schools, especially when everyone else already had someone to talk to. A feeling of seperation and exclusion swept over her, her eyes following the groups of friends to their classes. A small sigh crept from her mouth and her fast-paced walking slowly turned into a snail-like stroll. Her initial excitement for Art was slowly being replaced by a negative feeling that dampened her mood immediatly.
Casalynn was quite agile and petite, with a slight and slender look to her. She could hardly be called thin, but she wasn't actually the bigger type of person; she just sat nicely in the middle. Casalynn had glowing skin and slightly rosy cheeks accompanied with quite a dark tone. Her eyes were stunning blue, sparkling and shimmering as it caught the light. It was overwhelmingly easy to get lost in her eyes and could almost swallow you up in an instant. Her hair was a chesnut brown, reaching low behind her back. It began to sway as she walked, giving her a more elegant stride as she made her way to her Art class. Casalynn had always liked natural beauty, and liked to put nothing on her face. She hated the way some make up looked, and was a strong believer that you had to be ugly to cake your face in some chemical junk. Her skin remained completely natural, and was of a smooth and even tone.
Casalynn stood outside of her next class, taking in a short breath before going in. She scanned her eyes through the class, looking for her usual seat to see if it was taken. To her relief it wasn't, and she proceeded to go and sit next to the girl she knew as Dani. She had never really talked to her but always thought she had looked like a very nice person to talk to. She looked like one of those people who had hidden secrets, the sort of secrets that were to be told to no one. Casalynn placed her bag gently on the floor, and sat on her seat gracefully listening to the teacher as she spoke. She nodded as they were told to finish the peice they had been working on, and Casalynn got to work immediatly. She looked at her artwork infront of her, very proud at how it had turned out to far.
Casalynn had always had a gift with animals, and she loved to paint them. This certain peice was of a wolf at full moon. Her mother used to tell her horror stories when she was young, about werewolves that transformed when the moon was full. The stories used to amaze her and sparked up the interest that she had now. She had always loved myths and mythical stories and unlike other children when they were aged 5, the stories that used to send her to sleep were often about magic and wolves rather than princesses and pirates. She smiled as she look at her nearly finished painting, grabbing a paintbrush in her hand and getting ready to carry on and finish it like she had been instructed to.
Casalynn's grip on her paintbrush slipped, and it rolled onto the floor. Her eyes followed the brush as it rolled under Dani's chair. Oh shoot Casalynn muttered in her head, sighing as the paintbrush came to rest directly under where Dani was sitting. Cass got up from her chair and gently tapped Dani on the shoulder, wondering how she could be a un-rude as she could. She smiled slightly and she indicated the paintbrush under her chair.
"Can you grab it for me? I can't reach" She said happily, hoping her observations about the girl would be correct, and she wouldn't just ignore her like everyone else seemed to be doing.
