Name: Maximilienne Romenel (Millie)
Age: 19
Sex: Female
Class: Working Class/ Poor/ Musician
Appearance:
Millie had long raggedy ginger hair and bright blue eyes. She is skinny, some would call her weedy. And although doll like and fragile in demeanor, she is deceptive and much tougher than she appears.
She dresses in normal and plain clothes of the poor. Normally seen in long maid-like dresses except for when she is practising swordplay in which she will opt for old frayed trousers and loose shirt. She tends to wear her nicest dresses (still far shabbier in comparison to those of the royal household) when she is performing.
Character:
Appears cheerful and friendly on the outside but doesn’t really trust others and is always wary, perhaps due to the mental scars left by her abusive brother.
Millie is curious about the world around her and likes to go off on her own little adventure. She never gets lost…well, okay, she does occasionally but she never really sees it as getting lost. She calls it, exploring.
She is quietly confident. She doesn’t care what others think of her and is comfortable enough to perform in front of strangers. Though she remains a bit of a daydreamer and tends to appear clumsy when lost in one of her dazes.
Normally, she is graceful and soft - being a harpist, she needs to be, and she likes to prove her worthiness, wants reassurance and a bit of a thirst to show off and be centre of attention. She wants to surprise people.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths:
Skilled with weaponry
Good at singing
Plays the harp
Weaknesses:
Scared to use her magic though she wants to be able to
Loses focus easily - a day dreamer
Magic:
She does not use magic so much anymore. She is a little scared of it. She can cause pain to people by touching them when she is scared or angry and she has some mind reading ability that she keeps passing off as coincidence.
Weaponry Skills:
Very skilled in swordplay, averagely skilled in archery as she loses focus easily.
Character History:
Millie moved to Camelot with her father and older brother as a young girl, all the way from France. It was a long and exhasting journey but they had had no choice.
They were part of a noble kingdom, and though her father does not admit it, Millie was sure they had once been nobles themselves. They were banished from their own kingdome and denounced of their titles because her mother had been participating in dark magic, and though magic was not frowned upon, it was when intentions were bad. Millie's mother had a selfish lust for power and had tried to murder the King and Queen.
Whilst she had been executed, Millie and her father and brother had been exiled. Her brother became terrifyed yet furious at her when she displayed signs of natural magic at a young age. Her older brother tried to beat it out of her for he was terrified of magic and was convinced that Millie would become as cruel and dangerous as her mother. An opinion not shared by her father who cast the son out when he had learnt what he was doing. She still wears the scars across her back.
Ever since, she has been reluctant to do magic. Instead, she let her father train her in sword fighting and archery - women have just as much right to learn how to defend themselves, he would say though secretly Millie suspected he was only teaching her because he no longer had a son to teach. Millie wanted to be a knight when she was little and was sometimes unaware that she was actually a girl. and female knights were a rarity.
These days she is happy playing music in the streets in order to gather up a bit of money for the two of them and passing the day practising her skills on dummies in the shack they call a home. She sometimes plays at the castle on special occasions but never as a leading act. She isn't the best singer or harpist in the world after all and always gets her notes muddled up.
She often wishes to live the noble life, just to know what it was all about and why her father misses it so. But despite their situation, despite everything they had gone through, Millie was happy.
Additional Information:
Mother's name was Anemone, brother's name is Drake and father's name is Henri.
She has a 'pet' cat, technically he's a stray whom she has befriended, called Remy.
Play-by, Lily Cole
Sample Roleplay: (Taken from a Harry Potter RP site)
Fabian hated sitting around doing nothing. Okay, so he did get to go out occasionally to sort out the odd minor disturbance. But he was nothing more than an assistant. He wasn’t even allowed to use counter-curses, that was all left to the so-called professionals. What Fabian didn’t understand is why there was so much he wasn’t allowed to do. He had graduated from Hogwarts hadn’t he? He knew just as much as everyone else, he assumed more since he was almost sorted into Ravenclaw all those years ago…didn’t time just go by so quickly.
He flicked through the papers he was meant to be delivering. Just a sneaky little peak, it couldn’t hurt anyone. He didn’t look long; the content of the official papers was too distressing, even if Fabian wasn’t going to show his upset. No. Those sorts of feelings needed to be squashed down. They were no good to anyone.
Angrily, he almost dropped the papers as he shoved them back into their folder. There had been another family of muggles, murdered for no apparent reason. Fabian couldn’t understand where all this hate was coming from. What did it matter if you were a muggle, a muggle born or half breed for that matter?
It didn’t make sense. Fabian, being a pureblood (not that he approved of that term) himself, felt that the pureblood supremacists were giving wizards all over a really bad name. He sometimes felt ashamed to even be of full magical blood (okay, so that term didn’t sound much better), and there was sure to be some muggle blood in him somewhere anyway so in the end of it all, everyone was half blood - even less.
Fabian turned round the corner sharply. He had almost reached his destination. All he had to do was slip the documents under the door and he’d be able to go home for tea. He could not help but take another look but just as he was peaking under the flaps of the pristine parchment, Fabian bumped into someone and sent the pages flying into the air.
