It was the anniversary of her parents death. Raven was in a long black, velvet dress with long sleeves. She wore a black veil that covered her face. She had the door opened by a few of her fellows. She walked into the crypt and and went over to her parents' marble tombstones. Tears fell from her eyes. She missed them so much. She placed deep red roses on each tombstone. She smiled weakly. "I guess I'm like you Mother. I've fallen in love with a knight of Camelot. His name is Lancelot Du Lac." she said. She could feel her mother smiling at her and she could've sworn she heard her father chuckle. "Well rest in peace my beloved parents. I will see you again at Yuletide." she promised.
When she got outside, the wind had picked up. She broke down in tears. She knew she shouldn't cry because of her baby but she couldn't help it. She heard something and drew her sword. "Whos there?" she hissed.

He'd been exploring Camelot for just over a week now, and thought he knew most of his way around the wing of the castle which his chambers were in. His chambers which were larger than some banquet halls he'd seen before. But, now he was venturing a little further a-field. His handsome chestnut stallion had been tacked up personally, since he had no man-servant as of yet, and he'd swung himself into the charger's saddle before walking him out of the main gateway. He had no rush to be anywhere so he could leisurely just walk out. Deystria's large hooves clicked smartly on the stone before he moved off onto the beaten earth of the path. The large horse tossed his head, clicking at the bit before Asketel urged him up into a trot.
He wasn't sure of the surrounding land around Camelot, but he just guided his horse down the winding track, his long blue-grey cloak resting out over Deystria's strong hind-quarters. As a prince and a hunter he was used to keeping his ears alert for any sounds beyond the normal rise and fall of the countryside. Which was why a slight noise of tears caught his attention. Slowly reining the stallion in, Asketel dismounted, his cloak falling silently behind him. The sound of a sword leaving it's scabbard had him on high alert, but he took his hand off the hilt of his own sword, stepping forward into the open, Deystria standing proudly behind him. "I didn't mean to startle you, Ma'am." He said truthfully, standing tall and making sure his hands were free and non-threatening. "I just wanted to ask if you were alright."

Raven sighed. Nightstar walked up behind her. The sixteen hands high horse was jet black and had a handsome features and a lovely white star on his forehead. He snorted and nuzzled Raven. She let out a small smile. Raven sheathed her sword. Nightstar whinnied in greeting to the other stallion. Raven wore the Assassins symbol around her neck. "Are you a Templar boy?" she asked. She hated them. They had already brainwashed Uther into thinking her Creed was the enemy. She had spent most of her life tracking down and assassinating those Templar vermin from the face of the earth. She mounted her horse. His saddle had the Assassin's 'A' carved into the leather and painted in blood red. "I'm Lady Raven Silvester of Devonshire." she said. She looked at the other man and sighed. "Handsome horse, Sir." she added.

He blinked for a moment. Templar? "Uh, no, I'm not." He replied slowly. He wasn't even sure what a Templar boy was. He assumed it might have something to do with the Magicians Guild or possibly part of the army? They did have an Army in the Northern Black Mountains but the numbers had been so dwindled by the famine that it was mostly the strategical location of the castle which kept it from being taken. Deystria snorted softly, lifting his elegant head to observe the handsome stallion he had seen before in the stables.Deep brown eyes watched the ebony stallion before giving a soft nicker of greeting. Deystria was a proud animal, Asketel knew, a war charger, yet had seen very few battles.
Following her lead, as he felt awkward standing there, the prince swung up elegantly into the carved saddle, Deystria shifting his hooves slightly and arching his neck as his cloak settling into place. "Prince Asketel, of the Northern Black Mountains. It is my pleasure, My Lady." He greeted formally, picking up his reins to keep Deystria from tossing his head. "I've seen your stallion in the stables, he is a magnificent animal. Well bred." He hedged the question for a moment, glancing around the wide expanse. "May I take the liberty of asking if you are alright, Lady Raven?"

Raven sighed. "Its been ten years since my parents were murdered." she said. She kept some tears away. She was riding with royalty. She was nervous.Raven placed a hand over her stomach. She felt a kick and a smiled. "Though I am starting a family myself." she said. She loved Lancelot. She looked at the prince. "So what brings you to Camelot?" she asked.

Asketel nodded silently, his own head bowing slightly. His mother had passed away the previous winter due to the famine and he would not be completely surprised that his father soon followed. The famine had hit the entire kingdom hard, shattering supply lines and crops. Asketel worried for his younger brother, Cormac, and his older sisters, but for his whole kingdom as well. "I am sorry to hear that." He replied sympathetically, moving Deystria in beside her own stallion. Deystria was no a delicate animal, made of muscle and flowing mane. He stood almost a hand higher than the black stallion, picking his hooves up with sharp movements and his neck arched smartly. Probably showing off.
He smiled, observing her hand with a soft smile. "Congratulations. Children bring light to the world.[b/] A saying his father had often said, usually in an exasperated tone when he's caught his son's racing their horses down the courtyard. He moved his eyes away for a moment, looking out over the grassy land they rode along. "I came to Camelot for aid, my own Kingdom suffers." He said after a long pause, straightening his shoulders at the memory of riding hell for leather through dead farmland and barren crop fields.

Nightstar started to canter in long smooth strides. He was the most elegant horse in the stable. Raven also owned and albino mare. "I can help you. My family is part of an Assassin Brotherhood." she said. Raven stopped at the edge of the graveyard. She saw some Templars and halted her horse. "Shh. I'm going to take them out." she said. Raven dismouned and attached her hidden blades to her wrists.
When she got there the Templars didn't realise she was there. Raven released her blades. Before the Templars could do anything their cries were cut short. All that could be heard was them gurgling on their own blood. They fell to the floor, clutching their throats as they bled out. They died within seconds. She beckoned the prince towards her, mentioning it was safe.

Deystria snorted, not willing to be outdone by the ebony equine. Asketel smiled slightly and loosened his hold on his double reins. Long strides soon had Deystria upsides with the Lady again and Asketel had to keep a firm hand on the reins to keep the chestnut charger from attempting to race on ahead. He was used to leading the cavalry. As said, he was just proud. "The Assassins Brotherhood?" He questioned. It was a famine, he wasn't sure what assassins could do to help, but he didn't feel it polite to say that outloud. Deystria halted with a jolt. Canter to one stride of walk before standing square, ears twitching.
Watching with a slightly frown, Asketel kep his palm resting on the curved hilt of his sword, eyes burning into the Lady's back. It was odd. As Kingdoms went, the Black Mountains were peaceful. Few people came and went and those that did were rarely hostile. His frown deepened at the silent kill. To him it seemed cold, something he didn't see much of up North. Of course he did not know the back story of why she had just killed two men in what seemed cold blood, but this just seemed more drastic than anything else. He'd've wounded and brought them back to the castle personally. Deystria moved forward, his hooves picking a silent path towards the bodies. "Why?" He asked softly, looking down at the almost decapitated bodies.

"Long story short. They are disturbers of peace. The Assassin Brotherhood is keepers of the peace, but the Templars are twisting King Uther's mind, into thinking the Assassins are the enemy. The are after the Sacred Sroll of the Pagans. That is a scroll that the Assassins have kept hidden for over five hundred years. The Scroll contains ancient spells. Some of which that can cause the end of the world. Something they want. We have been battling then for the last three hundred years. Since they found about the scroll a secret war has broken out." she explained as she mounted Nightstar. Nightstar whinnied softly a friendship greeting. He liked the Prince's horse. "Trying to make a new friend, Nightstar?" Raven laughed as she patted the stallion's silky ebony neck.

Asketel raised an eyebrow but made no comment. Three hundred years. He'd seen it once and it still seemed brutal. But, as said, the Black Mountains were peaceful. Or at least attempted to be. The Southern Black Mountains left them alone, they had their own troubles as they bordered the land with Mercia, but the Black Mountains which Asketel came from boarded the Southern Black Mountains and land which was not taken by anyone. It was rocky and barren, heather covered fields and hills. No-one really lived up there save a few hardy shepherds, who knew where their loyalties lay. It might be to King Bridgham, Asketel's father. Or someone else. Or even no-one, but they had yet to cause any trouble and even if they did, their sheep tended to outnumber the people.
Deystria pulled his head back slightly with a snort, drawing the young prince out of his thoughts. The huge chestnut animal had his ears pricked towards the slightly smaller ebony stallion before he snorted softly and extended his muzzle. "Don't mind Deystria, he's just proud." Asketel smiled, laying a hand on the stallion's proud burnished neck. "So how long have you been..." He searched for the right word. Assassinating?"

Before Raven could say anything, Nightstar set off at a graceful gallop. He neighed and a beautiful albino mare cantered up to him. Raven dismounted. "Snowstorm." Raven whispered. Snowstrom was pure white. Nothing else was on her. She looked at the chesnut. She snorted in disapproval. "Sorry. Snowstorm takes a while to warm up to other equine beasts. She has unicorn blood in her. Those with magic can only see her golden horn." she said. Even though Raven wasn't a virgin anymore, Snowstorm was still protective of Raven. "I have been an Assassin since I can remember." she said.

Magic, and therefore magical creatures, where rarely seen in the Black Mountains. Asketel himself had never even met a sorcerer that he knew of. So the introduction of not only an assassin but a purely magical creature? Well, that was an odd day for Asketel. Deystria had charged after the black stallion, not to be outdone, his long strides eating up the ground in smooth bounds. But the stallion's attention had diverted to the shimmering mare quickly, raising his head and bringing his front hooves off the ground as he stopped. Asketel, experienced rider that he was, kept a firm seat and rein as Deystria snorted, staring at the magical mare. Finally the proud stallion lowered his head slowly and carefully in greeting, his long mane falling over his neck.
Dismounting very slowly Asketel watched on with wonder. "Unicorn?" He echoed softly, his pale blue eyes apraising the beautiful mare. Deystria had his ears up, head still lowered slightly to the unicorn cross breed. "She's beautiful. How did you find her?" He asked, a tinge of awe in his voice. Deystria took a slight step forward, his large hooves moving silently over the lush grass. "I think he agrees." He hadn't seen the stallion act like this before, the proud seventeen hand animal watching passively.

"She saved my life and has been with me ever since." Raven smiled. Snowstorm gave the chestnut the once over but returned to Nightstar's side. Raven looked at the Prince. "Sire, may I offer you a place of food and rest. You're welcome to stay at my manor house in Camelot." she offered. Snowstorm was busy grooming Deystria with gentle nips with her teeth. Raven smiled and then sighed.

Asketel inclined his head politely. "Your offer is most kind, My Lady, yet I have lodgings within the Castle. Prince Arthur provided them for me and I shouldn't wish to offend him by not taking up his kind offer." He smiled. From the occasional story he'd heard of Camelot, he'd been warmly greeted, especially by Uther, a man he had never met and could scarcely remember apart from stories. Apparently he'd met him before, but he couldn't be sure. "I shouldn't wish to intrude either, I am a mere stranger to you." Deystria raised his fine head, curving his neck around to give the snow white horse a soft nudge to her muzzle, nickering softly. Asketel let his reins go, letting the loyal equine move as he so wished.

Raven chuckled. "I think you've made a new friend, eh, Snow?" she said. Snowstorm rested her muzzle on Deystria's. Her eyes became lazy and then she did the same to Nightstar. "Well I suppose its in their nature. Horses and Unicorms are herd animals." Raven said. "Come let us ride." Raven smiled and Nightstar set off at a gentle trot.
