Dreamer sat at his desk scratching his signature on another paper and placed it away. The last one he would be writing for today, he was tired of the routine in which he wrote these useless pieces of paper. Dreamer stashed his quill and his ink as he continued to reconsidered his place at that moment.
His writing was nothing seriously important, the other council mages made sure of it. The King and the nobles required more from him, a job of danger and self-sacrifice. Why was he still writing papers for self-centered old men? Dreamer sighed, leaning back in his chair, He was getting tired and closed his eyes. Yet, when he did this, all he could see was Raven.
Raven, the curve of her lips when she smiled at him, the feel of her body against his. The calm atmosphere she could bring him to, and the equally sense of confusion and agitation. Her presence caught him off guard, The only woman who ever brought out his passion and darkness at equal levels. She was his second love, and yet the first one he made love to. He could not imagine a time when he didn't want to be by her side, even now he considered where she may be.
Dreamer wanted to comfort her, she seemed distant as of late. Dreamer did not know what troubled her, and that in turn troubled him. Dreamer yearned to know how to sooth the problems of her past, and make her consider the prospects of the next day. A smile was brought to his lips as he decided to search for her, rising from his seat. It was a little to late for that though, there was a knock at the door.
One that he would regret answering.
"Come in" Dreamer called.

Chase strode merrily through the halls of the guild. So enthused with joy was he that he even paused to greet one of the apprentices passing him in the hall. The apprentice cowered away from him at the unexpected attention. Chase smiled, apperantly the teen had heard of Chase's reputation. Dark rumours had been spreading through the guild about Chase's activities. Chase barely even tried to quash them these days. Fear could be a useful tool if used correctly and he had more important things to do.
Chase was on his way to one of them now. He could not wait to tell Dreamer the good news. Chase had waited for this ever since he had first met Dreamer. Though they had fought several times over the last year neither of them had ever actually managed to land a crippling blow on the other. Someone or something always interfered at the last minute. Not this time though. How ironic that Chase had been spending most of his time trying to mortally wound Dreamer. When the real way to destroy Dreamer was through his emotions. Chase had warned Dreamer that emotions were dangerous things that could not be trusted. Now he would illustrate it by destroying the thing Dreamer held most dear.
Knocking politely Chase waited politely for Dreamer to invite him in. After all no reason not to make this as polite as possible Chase thought a feral smiling shining from his face. At Dreamer's invitation Chase entered and sat down on the chair opposite Dreamer and took a second to enjoy Dreamer's reaction to his abrupt appearance. Before Dreamer had a chance to speak Chase said in a voice that dripped with honey "Well hello there Dreamer. How have you been? I heard you got yourself yet another girl to keep you happy. Just thought that I should warn you about her though. She can be a bit of a whore."
Chase leaned back in his chair and waited for Dreamer's reaction.

Dreamer sat still for a moment as he watched Chase, looking for signs of deception. He could fine none, Chase's broad smile could register as many things, so Dreamer payed littled attention to the information. If anything, Dreamer relaxed in his chair, and looked bored of Chase's presense.
"You question the honor of a lady, with no proof...and you mean to come to me with this?", Dreamer asked, fairly unconvinced of Chase's accusation. "What pushed you towards this visit Chase...did you wake up to find yet another regretful woman leaving your room with your coinpurse."

Chase bristled at Dreamer's comment for a moment before brushing it aside. "Sorry to break it to you but I don't need to pay women to sleep with me. They consider it an honor to simply meet me. That's all I do with them too. Unlike you I prefer not to leave my women pregnant. Still at least you got rid of the baby. You would have made a terrible father "
Chase forced himself to get back to the matter at hand. "I question nothing Dreamer!" He said firmly "It may have come to your attention that I am in control of no small amount of servants. A month ago I decided to put them to good use and offered a reward for anyone who could give me useful information on any of my... competitors in Camelot. I did not expect to gain much information out of it. I intended it as a backup system I could use to check information that I already knew against the market gossip. You can imagine my surprise when I last week a serving girl came to me and said that Lancelot and Raven have been seen together multiple times recently and have been seen kissing at least twice.
Chase paused for a moment before continuing, "Of course mere rumors were all I had to go on but often the darkest truths are hidden the simplest of rumors. I decided to do a little reconnaissance of my own. I must say its not like they are keeping it a secret. I saw them kissing on her balcony just yesterday." Chase breathed a sigh of happiness remembering the
"Still," Chase continued, "If you want I can leave now and you can pretend this conversation never happened. Go back to your loving woman and just ignore the fact that she is sleeping with other men. After all you are the great preacher of 'tolerance' aren't you?." It felt so good to use Dreamer's words against them. Chase couldn't remember the last time he had felt so happy.

...Still at least you got rid of the baby. You would have made a terrible father...
Dreamer's eyes became intense as he moved to charge chase, to throw himself over his desk and overpower the weaker coward. He held himself though, gripping his desk with the ferocity of a severely upset man. Dreamer did not know how Chase possessed that slight bit of information, the only two people alive who knew were Dreamer and Raven, so he thought.
Dreamer glared at Chase with interest, his attention caught.
...I saw them kissing on her balcony just yesterday
Chase's whole explanation boiled down to those simple words, that he himself had witnessed the act. Dreamer continued to glare at Chase, furiously thinking over the information. He wanted to question it, not only that, but to deny it. Yet, what reason did chase have to lie? If there was one thing Dreamer was certain about Chase, it was that he would like nothing more than to harm Dreamer, in any form.
He had succeeded.
Dreamer was filled with too much rage to cry, that would come later. For now, Dreamer worked on keeping himself under control. The air in the room began to grow intense, as if power were simply leaking off of Dreamer as he fought to contain himself. Dreamer would confirm the information himself, and deal with Chase later. He was no longer worth his time at the moment.
"Leave", Dreamer said, filling his words with as much threatening ferocity as he felt.

Chase forced himself not to cringe before Dreamer's wrath. Never before had Chase felt such killer intent from Dreamer. The room filled with furious magic that poured out of Dreamer and stung Chase's skin slightly on contact. "Diogelu" Chase murmured softly to himself activating his shields against magic. He would never allow himself to be cowed by Dreamer. Especially not after such a fruitful victory
[glow=red,2,300]"Leave"[/glow]
The words carried a weight that Chase had never felt before. His plans to stay and enjoy Dreamer's misery evaporated. He had accomplished his mission. It was time for him to leave. Some hidden section of his brain that Chase would never admit existed realized that if he stayed he might not survive.
Getting up from his chair Chase walked hurriedly to the door. However he was not one to go without a parting shot "have fun with your 'love' I hope your happy now" with that Chase ducked out the door of Dreamer's room slamming it shut behind him.
