Name: Celta Meiru
Age: 20 years
Sex: Female
Class: Nobility
Appearance: Celta has dark brown hair that is usually seen down and past her shoulders in waves. She sometimes braids it or twists it up when she’s working or doing other things frowned upon by her adoptive parents. Her eyes are a beautiful ice blue but instead of being cold and hard like ice would be, they are usually warm and kind to those she meets. She is medium height and of a slender build, although she isn’t completely drop dead gorgeous, in her own opinion (though some men would disagree). There’s a scar on her arm from where she fought off a robber once; she wears expensive clothing for her adopted family, but when she’s alone she wears clothing she could get dirty in for her job. Also, she has a few cuts and bruises from fights with her adoptive father.
Character: Celta is a energetic young woman. Determined and headstrong, she is never afraid to show how she feels. She is a normally pleasing woman, liking to make the ones she trusts happy, but her heart is full of grief after her past experiences. Men, however, are a different story for her. She dislikes men and everything they stand for, unless she is purposely flirting with an attractive one. Being a talented equestrian and archer, she has always believed in women having the ability to fight and be independent. Many men never give her a second glance after hearing her opinions, laughing and disbelieving she is as good a fighter as she says...until she proves them wrong by leaving them face first in the mud and a sword against their backs. Maybe that’s why she is twenty years old and unmarried...
Celta hides away mostly in her horses, talking to them as if hoping one day they will talk back to her, and she is always riding her horse Eolas, who has been with her since Celta was ten. She loves her horse more anything in the world and would give her life if Eolas was in danger. Celta does have many flaws, however, as she is irrational at times and struggles with trying to fit in with society. She’s also reckless on occasion, getting herself into trouble one way or another. Think of her as a damsel in distress without the ridiculous girliness...and who complains after being rescued time and time again by men. Her adoptive parents are different than her parents and so try to dress her up, make her more beautiful, and fit her into society. She doesn’t agree with their opinion that she must marry soon, for she is a hopeless romantic who wishes to find a knight and live happily ever after.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Skills: Archery is a forte as well as horsemanship and riding, for she was raised by her father who had a job as an Ostler from the royal stables. She is an excellent fighter, being taught by her father who had been taught by a knight of Camelot when he lived there. She can run at swift speeds, and often raced the other children when she was young.
Weaknesses: Attractive men, especially knights that travel through their lands. Also, she hates the night time and uses this time to get a good night’s sleep whenever possible. She is scared of snakes and other creatures that remind her of evil. Fire scares her and reminds her of everything that was taken from her. Celta is proud, stubborn, and headstrong, and she refuses to marry for money, nobility, or anything other than love.
Magic: None
Weaponry Skills: Celta can use a blade or dagger, but she is best at a bow and arrow. She is also skilled at hand to hand combat, and she is even better fighting on horseback since she was basically raised on horses.
Character History: Celta Meiru was born into a wealthy family of horse keepers, but she never knew that. She grew up thinking that her father had worked in a stable, not knowing he had owned one. Her father owned a large plot of land and had been close to the royal family at one point in time before her father realized just how much he disliked royalty and everything it stood for. Her parents disagreed with King Uther when he outlawed magic, and so they decided to escape when she was only a baby and live as peasants elsewhere to escape the king's wrath. She started showing a gift with animals at a young age, but her parents saw that she was especially in love with the horses she took care of. She played with many of the young boys in her city, not really enjoying female company as she wasn’t like most girls.
She was a tomboy, to put it in simple terms. She’d rather shoot a bow and arrow, play fight with her father or the young boys, and ride horses than act prim and proper. She hung around the stables all the time, working around the horses or riding and training with the workers of the local stables. Her parents didn’t mind her behavior, for all they cared about was her happiness and loved her for who she was.
When Celta was ten, she found an injured horse while she was gathering unique plants in the nearby glen. Looking at the situation more closely, she found that it was pretty much wild and didn’t trust her at first. However, she stayed by the mare’s side, never leaving and nurturing it back to health. It still took awhile to get the mare to trust her, but Celta slowly started to win her trust and broke her, finally able to ride her with a saddle and bridle. Eolas, always being around Celta, developed a bond with the girl over time.
Two years later, a man out to murder her father broke into her home with a group of men. They knew he had been a noble and friend to king Uther and were out for revenge thinking he was still close to the king that had outlawed magic. Celta hid at her brother's orders, and she watched as they killed her older brother Clifton and her mother Caly. They set her house on fire and left, and she was knocked out by a collapsing piece of wood when she had scrambled out to go see her brother.
Someone had dragged her out of the house and to safety before she could be consumed by fire, and when she came to, her house was just ash on the ground. The only clue to finding the ones responsible was a very expensive looking ring laying by her mother. She swore she would find whoever did that to her family, and her father, who had returned from a hunting trip, decided to go off on his own and get revenge. The deaths had turned his heart cold, and he abandoned twelve year old Celta in Mercia. Celta had changed that day, her heart heavy and her world of happiness basically shattered.
She wandered by herself for the next four years, keeping company with Eolas and only making contact with a few people. Then, when she was sixteen, she fell ill and was found shivering and drifting through unconsciousness by a wealthy couple of Camelot. They took her in when they saw her necklace, knowing it had been her father's symbol when he was still a noble and friends with Uther, knowing she had been born into nobility, and they brought her back to full health, and from that moment on, they took her in as if she were their own daughter. As soon as she turned nineteen, they began forcing her to meet men and pushed her into society to become a woman. And being headstrong, she rebelled, not wanting to marry a man she did not know.
Now, Celta has disappeared from her adoptive home. Her parents are worried sick about her, since they haven't heard from her in a few weeks. It turns out that she was taken by the King Cenred and his men, and she has been kept at his castle. However, she has found a way to escape and is now trying to find her way back home with Eolas.

Sample Roleplay: Claire woke up with a jolt and looked over at her phone on the nightstand. When she saw the time, she cursed and threw back the covers, getting up from her bed and rushing to her drawers, throwing them open and getting out her casual riding stuff. She pulled on her tan breeches and a long-sleeved black striped shirt. She yanked on her long black English boots and quickly brushed through her dark chocolate-colored hair. Seeing her grooming kit and helmet, she grabbed those up quickly with another curse. She pretty much stuffed a banana in her mouth before putting her key into her pocket and running out the door. Sometimes she slept at school to get away from her foster father and for convenience purposes so she didn't have to drive there.
She pushed past anyone in her way, yelling that she was sorry, before throwing open the doors to outside. She took off towards the barn, her heart pounding in her chest. She had promised Jack the night before that she'd ride him early and practice their jumping. As soon as her brown eyes fell on her beautiful boy's stall, her face was glowing with happiness. Out of breath, she stopped in front of the stall and kissed Jack's muzzle softly, looking up into her stallion's intelligent eyes.
"Hey, my Jackie boy. Ready to go riding for awhile?" she crooned to the calm horse in front of her, setting down her grooming kit and helmet. She headed over to the tack room, grabbed the tack she needed, and walked back over to Jack. Opening the stall door, she walked in with her grooming kit and wrapped her arms around the dappled grey, inhaling his scent for a long moment. Claire pulled back and started to groom Jack, making sure she did everything almost perfect until she was sure her stallion was shining and content.
Jack snorted and shook out his detangled mane as if he enjoyed it and was testing it out. Claire smiled at the horse and left her grooming kit in the stall as she grabbed up her saddle pad, tossing it gently on his back and straightening it. After that, she put on the saddle and tightened it, grateful that Jack wasn't one of those horses that sucked in its chest when the saddle went on. As soon as she tightened the saddle, she put the bit in Jack's mouth and put the bridle on.
"Okay, that's it...let's go to the indoor arena..." Claire hugged him again, put her hair into her ponytail from her wrist, and stuck her helmet onto her head. She led Jack down the aisle and smiled to herself, happy that she was doing something that was normal around this place. When she got into the indoor arena, she threw the reins over Jack's neck and put her foot in the stirrup. Her hands grabbed the mane and pommel, and she swung herself easily into her jumping saddle, nodding as she squeezed her horse immediately into a fast walk. She silently praised whoever had left out the jumps in the arena since she wanted to jump today. After a few minutes of walking, her eyes fixed ahead of her, she lightly squeezed Jack's side and clucked her tongue, asking for a trot. He happily complied, glad to be out of a stall and riding again. Claire started to post, using her leg muscles to lift herself out of the saddle.
Just a short bit later, Jack was prancing and slightly yanking on the bit to jump. Claire smirked, only too happy to agree and automatically reined him to the first jump in the pattern she was making up in her mind. Jack took three strides, and Claire leaned forward in her two-point position, bringing her hands forward and leaning them somewhat on the stallion's neck as he lifted off and jumped the 3 foot jump with ease. Jack landed into a canter and Claire rocked along with the rhythm of his hoofbeats. The young woman laughed and then was looking forward towards their next jump, which was a double. They cleared those and Claire's smile was growing by the second. Riding Jack was everything Claire lived for nowadays besides her music.
