Name: Princess Aloisia Sorestan of Cenred
Age: 19
Sex: Female
Class: Royalty
Appearance:
An obviously high-born woman with fine bone structure and elegance of carriage, Aloisia covers the feminine aspects of her appearance with leathers and armour. She is very rarely seen in a dress, preferring garments that allow for ease of movement (and weapon concealment). Her long, dark chocolate coloured hair is always out of the way and typically braided down her back or secured in a large knot at the back of her head so as not to hinder her. A pair of bright hazel tinted eyes view the world with a kind of sardonic amusement, able to change from deceptively mischievous to as hard as amber gems in very little time. She has numerous scars on her person and usually sports a bruise or two due to her rigorous training routines.
Face claim: Natassia Malthe
Character:
Aloisia is a confident, decisive individual. Her words and actions are always based on solid evidence or opinions and she doesn't hesitate to let those opinions be known to any who stop long enough to hear them. Courageous and loyal to a fault, she is as much a royal as she is a soldier, having been enveloped in both roles for so long that they were now intermingled. Her care for her people is immense, and she would commit herself to the most impossible mission if she thought it would keep the people of Cenred safe.
She can be, when she feels like it, rather gentile and charming but those moments are so rare that they fall into the realm of mythology itself. In general she is wry, sarcastic and sometimes even quite rude, having little care for manners or for pretending to be something she is not (like a pretty girl with flowers in her hair). She has a rather wicked sense of humour, her modesty having been shredded as a child by her barrage of playmates. Whilst she is still a maid in the strictest sense of the word she holds no illusion to romance or any such thing, fully believing, as she had been told by many of her knights, that no man would wish to marry a girl so like a man herself.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths:
- Determined
- Loyal
- Compassionate
- Merciful
- Just
- Formidable soldier
- Excellent horsewoman
Weaknesses:
- Hotheaded
- Brash
- Opinionated
- Stubborn
- Can be quite rude/crude at times
- Drinks too much
Magic:
None whatsoever. Aloisia is actually afraid of magic, not that she would admit it to anyone! She realises the very real advantage that Mages provide during the course of battle and as such they are worthy of her respect, but otherwise it should be said that she will go out of her way to avoid people with magical ability.
Weaponry Skills:
Having trained since a very early age and strictly against the wishes of her father, Aloisia is well-versed in all manner of weaponry, logistics and deployment. She is a fair tactician, and will not back down from a fight. Aloisia has excellent skill with swords, spears, staffs, daggers, crossbow/bow, lance and throwing knives. She has average experience with maces, axes and halberdiers. Aloisia is an exceptional horsewoman and loves to hunt.
Character History:
Born the only child to the King and Queen of Cenred, Aloisia is a great disappointment to both of her parents. From a young age she took more to rough-housing and fighting with the squires and pages in the castle instead of taking an interest in the gentile pursuits more befitting of a future Queen; something that infuriated her father and saddened her mother. She wished for nothing more than to be as she would. Attempting to take the place of the son that her father had so desperately longed for but would never receive and shunning the idea of being the feminine companion her mother wished her to be Aloisia found herself between a rock and a hard place from very early on in her life.
Because she was a member of the royal household no matter her gender, her requests were generally granted. And so it was that the young girl began her training with the young men who would thrive to become Knights of Cenred; her future 'protectors'. A healthy competitiveness existed amongst the group, and Aloisia's honour would see her fight when she should retire. With little else in her life besides training, hunting and (to her father's shame) drinking, Aloisia is quite the noble oddity. But she was nothing if not serious about her love and loyalty for Cenred.
It is no secret to anyone that her father lacks a certain finesse when it comes to the protection of his people and the holding of their borderlands. For years warlords have sacked and burned the low lying farming villages on the skirts of the kingdom, taking what they wished and doing as they pleased. Aloisia, unable to bear to see the suffering of the people due to her father's inability to act could stand it no longer when the small and humble village of Ealdor came under threat, only to be held from the advancing threat by none other than Arthur Pendragon of Camelot.
The embarrassment at having had to rely on the kindness and ability of another kingdom shamed Aloisia. Being no heir to Cenred's throne barring her, she is determined to hone her battle skills and take control of the kingdom's militia, whether her father wills it or not. Sick of his daughter's attempts to rally a kingdom that he himself thinks so little about, he has sent her to visit the neighbouring kingdom of Camelot with a view to her marrying young Arthur Pendragon, who would be more than capable of running the kingdom as his heir by marriage. Aloisia has only agreed to go because it will buy her time to hone her training and gather more troops, as she fully plans to bide her time and then take Cenred from her father.

Sample Roleplay:
EilÃs had been so intent on enjoying her afternoon that she hadn't noticed the sensation of the wolf in the vicinity until he presented himself at the edge of the pool. Upon seeing the creature she relaxed noticeably, confident that she had nothing to fear from him. His antics brought a playful smile to her lips and she watched him with interest as she trod water to stay afloat. For an ordinary human such behaviour in an animal so majestic and feared in general might have been cause for concern. Another few moments might have seen her bold enough to come ashore and pet him before struggling into her tunic but Fate, it would seem, was on her side.
A noise behind the wolf alerted her to the fact that perhaps her first assumption had been right all along. Catching a glimpse of a large white equine, EilÃs fancied for a moment that perhaps it was a unicorn coming to drink his fill before settling for the night. They were not unheard of after all, especially not this deep into the forest where the likelihood of them being bothered by humans was minimal. Then... it wouldn't have been a natural thing for a wolf and a unicorn to travel together. When the strange-seeming rider came into sight, however, the young Druidess had to wonder if it wasn't a little unusual for a wolf to travel with a human either.
A quick scan with her magical ability told her that the wolf's mind was closed to her. In and of itself, that one fact was enough to set her on edge. Her eyes were mere slits as she studied him carefully, attempting to evaluate how much stronger than her he would be. The answer was, of course, much stronger and she immediately gave up any idea of defending herself should she need to. There were better ways to escape the clutches of people she didn't wish to be detained by! His attempt to draw her into conversation faded out across the pool and she wondered why on earth he was addressing her at all. But it didn't take long for EilÃs to remember that men were men, and she was naked.
She arched a dark brow in his direction, content in the fact that â€" for not at least â€" her hair and the water were allowing her to keep her often questionable modesty. The sun was retreating back to its cloudy boudoir, leaving behind it a trail of fluffy breadcrumbs for the fireflies to follow. EilÃs could still see clearly enough, though, and she was certain that a man such as this would have eyes like a hawk. His face was open and honest, and he wore upon him the clear mark of a soldier, if not a knight. Seeing as her dealings with either were limited at best, EilÃs wasn't particularly in the best position to start labelling.
Alas, she couldn't simply bob there in the water and prune while merely waiting for him to go away. His call required an answer, and she threw the wolf a look that clearly denoted him as a traitor to the forest and its kindred â€" namely her â€" before she lifted her chin in defiance. “Yes?†she called back, her tone lofty and not at all embarrassed at having been caught in such a manner. She was, after all, a nature-lover and what was more natural than her skin? A wickedness took hold of her personality then, and she let her lips dip beneath the water to conceal her smirk.
