Post by Morgause on Oct 21, 2010 18:19:17 GMT
Name: Morgause
Age: 30's? She's 10 years older than Arthur Pendragon.
Sex: Female
Class: She doesn't really fit into a class. She is of Nobility, being a high preistess of the old religion and a highly talented sorceress.
Appearance: Morgause is somewhat of a beauty. She tends to take the breath away of those who pass her and she has used this to her advantage. Manipulating and flirting with those of great power to get what she wants is of no difficulty for her because many, especially men don't see past those long locks of blonde hair and those irrestible eyes. Her appearance has always been important to Morgause, knowing that the way people percieve you and act upon your orders rests heavily on what the outside eye sees. Because of this she likes to uphold her appearance and maintain it.
Morgause has long blonde hair, tend to be seen in a series of ringlets and curles. Her hair is a natural blonde colour, being a more dirty blonde than bright. She can be seen occasionally with diamonds, jewels or clips in her hair to tie it back when she see's fit, but more often than not she clips the front peices of her hair back and keeps it down. Her eye colour is a sharp brown, being fairly stunning and compelling to look at. Once engaging in eye contact it can be difficult to break away, but being brown in colour is mainly the way she keeps it. When performing magic however, her normally brown eyes will flash strands of orange until the magic has been performed in which case they will return to their normal colour.
Morgause has an athletic build, shaped through years or mastering combat and weaponary and being equally gifted on horseback. She is of average height and slightly skinny in appearance being easily maintained by her daily activities which help her to keep her petite frame. Morgause has a variety of different wardrobes, wearing different items of clothing depending on the deed she is carrying out at the time. She tends to wear dresses fit for noble's, which of course she suits very well being a noblewomen herself the main colours being dark ones which she carried off effortlessly. Also she likes to wear that of knight's attire, included chainmail, gauntlets and other items of protection which she wears most of the time.
Character: Morgause is highly intelligent, powerful, arrogant and manipulative. She often forms Machiavellian schemes to gain power. An example of this would be her taking advantage of Arthur's interest in his mother to try to turn him against Uther. This almost resulted in Arthur killing his father. She also used Morgana's hatred of Uther to persuade her to join her. She is consumed with hatred and rage as a result of the persecution of sorcerers by Uther whom she will stop at nothing to destroy.
Morgause is largely callous and cold towards others, viewing most of them as tools to be used and disposed of. However she does have a softer side. When she found out Morgana was dying, she abandoned her attempt on Uther's life in order to save her half-sister. She attempted to kill Merlin for poisoning Morgana and also acted as a confidant to her sister. Together they plotted to bring down Uther. Morgana appears to be the only person in the world apart from herself whom Morgause cares about. She also knew King Cenred, who was possibly attracted to her, since he was eager to impress her and commented on her courage. Morgause was a confident woman, striding straight into Camelot without attempting to be subtle about it and killing five guards on the way before challenging Arthur to a duel. She also seemed fairly confident that she could defeat him (which she did).
Morgause is intrigued by Merlin but is currently unaware of his magical powers, thinking he is just a servant. However she began to suspect that he was hiding something. Morgause claimed to have known Queen Ygraine of Camelot very well, saying she was a woman of honor. Given this statement, Morgause is at least 10 years older than Arthur. It is also interesting to note, that Morgause and Arthur have a physical resemblance, which could lead one to believe that they are related.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths -
- Her Magical Ability
- Her skill with weaponary
- Manipulating people
- Getting her own way
- Problem solving skills and her ability to get out of tight situations
- Persuasive
- Strong sense of determination and allegiances
Weaknesses -
- Emotions, sometimes they can cloud her judgement
- She has moments of doubt which are soon overtaken with her strong will
- Sometimes she relies too heavily on a third party that don't deliver or live up to her expectations
- She's fairly arrogant in a way, she overlooks potentially dangerous situations.
- She underestimates greatly the power that Merlin holds and the sheer strength and ability of the Pendragons.
Magic: Morgause is a very powerful sorceress able to summon an apparition of Arthur's mother and later reawaken the Knights of Medhir. It seems her magic holds on limitations as she able to even re-awaken those from death. Her skill with magic though was apparant from birth and has merely been wielded to their full potential as she was taught by the best.
Weaponry Skills: She is also an exceptionally skilled swordswoman, being able to kill five Camelot guards with ease and was the only known person besides Lancelot and possibly Morgana who has managed to defeat Arthur in combat. This shows she has the ability to match the great Arthur himself and has no bounds with a sword in hand and a dagger at her disposal. Admittely she doesn't judge herself best at archery yet she is compitent enough and even above average of many archers.
Character History:
Morgause was born into one of the houses of Camelot, the house of Gorlois. When she was young though for unknown reasons, Gaius was asked to smuggle Morgause out of Camelot after she was born and give her to the high priestesses of the Old Religion. Gaius did so, and swore an oath to never reveal his actions to anyone. Uther was led to believe that Morgause had died. From there, Morgause studied magic for many years, eventually becoming a very powerful sorceress as she had been brought up around magic and learnt to perform spells and control it from a young age.
Many years after her birth, Morgause returned to Camelot, now a grown woman. She is currently residing in the Forest of Balor in the depths of the druid camp, manipulating their kind nature and goodwill using it to protect her identity and her place in Camelot. Eagerly planning the downfall of the pendragons, she's lying low until the perfect opportune moment to strike arises, but until then she's perfectly contented to sit it out to make sure any plans to overthrow them does not backfire.
NOTE: It's worth noting as Morgause interacts more within the site, more information will be added to her History as going along so it's looking a little plain at the moment!

Sample Roleplay:
Evelynn had had a strangely quite day. She had no appointements or patients to deal with so there wasn't much she could do. Whenever she found she had spare time on her hands, it often stumped her as to what to fill her time with. Her job had always been demanding but she preffered it that way. Best to spend your time doing something useful than waste it doing something that wasn't necessary or at least that's how she saw it. She had the skills and abilities to make people better and even if one life was saved than it made her feel like her life was worthwhile. Her job always brought a smile to her face and especially recieving a heart-felt thank you from an appreciated patient made the long nights and stress deffiantly worth it.
Evelynn sat awkwardly, cleaning glass bottles and apparatus before placing them gently on her old, worn workbench. A small sigh escaped her mouth as she looked out of her window towards the sky. The day wasn't exactly a nice one, so she could hardly burn her time taking a brisk walk or spend a day riding. The rain hammered against her window and slowly trickled down into the deep puddles that formed underneath them. She desperatly hoped her day would lighten up as, to say the least, she was bored.
Evelynn took a side-glance to the dirty leech tank that stood proudly in the corner of her room. She wrinkled her nose at the mere thought of having to clean it out and slowly made her way to her cleaning tools. She was taken by surprise when she heard the sound of an abrupt knocking at her door. No immediate answer came to her mind at the reason why someone would venture out into the rain to see her. Unless someone needed her help which was most likely the case.
She propped her mop and bucket up against the wall before walking over to the door and gently pulling it open.
"May I help you?" She spoke softly although loudly to overcome the monstrous sound of the rain. Her eyes were immediatly drawn to the lifeless body of a peasant held in the arms of another man who was obviosly sick too. Evelynn immiedatly wondered if she was dead although she struggled to find a reason why they would be here if she was.
"Please, help. My wife just collapsed. She was in the garden watering the crops when she developed this rash on her neck. Then she just dropped to the floor. I tried to help her but I got the rash too. Please... help us, no one else will" Evelynn heard the painful, pitiful sound of a dying man who was desperatly worried about losing his wife; she could hardly turn them away. Evelynn knew she ran the risk of picking up whatever disease they had yet her conscience was too strong to ignore. They were just human beings looking for a helping hand, a sorry sight that would probably stay with her for the rest of her life.
Now, she was faced with the choice to either help them or turn them away. Forcing them to endure, what would be, certain death. She dropped her head slightly in submission and opened the door further to allow them entry.
"Quick, place her on the table" Evelynn led them to her work bench and cleared all of he tools so that the women could be treated. The man struggled to walk and carry the weight of his wife but nevertheless placed her carefully onto the surface. Evelynn noticed the man was looking slightly purple and it didn't take long for his legs to buckle under his weight and he fell to the floor with a loud 'crunch'. The unmistakable sound of broken bones.
Evelynn was at a loss. Even though she was a very good physician, she lacked experience. She had never seen these symptoms before and had no idea what sort of an illness she was dealing with. She quickly ran her eyes up and down the women identifying any signs of the disease. The women was looking slightly purple like her husband and it seemed the rash she had was creeping slightly up her face. Her ankles were also swollen and her stomach was largely inflammed. The same symptoms were also chared by her husband.
Evelynn collected some bottles on the counter behind her and shook them until the chemicals within them were mixed. She placed them next to the 'patients' for later use. Before she could treat them she had to know what they were suffering from. When she remembered. The women had been watering her plants before she developed the illness meaning either the plants or the water had resulted in these rashes. She rolled the womens sleeves back to reveal several bite marks on her arms and deep, bloody wounds that leaked a discoloured goo. She had been infected by small parasites that were contained in the water.
Evelynn produced a large smile and glided over to a cabinet which held the collection of a variety of medicines and bottles. She carefully picked two and made her way over to the husband and wife. She gently tipped the first bottle into the womens mouth and the second into the husbands and watched for the effects to take place. The bottles contained extracts from wild flowers picked from the high mountains. They were renowned for flushing out the system which were bound to get rid of anything that had burrowed into their stomachs.
She watched with eager eyes as they both came round from unconsciousness. The purple from their faces were disappearing yet it would take considerably longer for the other symptoms to disappear. Luckily the illness they were suffering from was not contagious and had only been passed onto the husband as he was most likely to have drank the water, the wife had only been in contact with it yet had still developed the illness. The family both steadily got to their feet feeling the weight of the disease lift of their shoulders.
"You'll need to take medication for the next few days to eliviate some of the symptoms and stop infections. But I strongly advise you to stay away from wherever you got that water from." She said with a smile, giving them both a basket full of bottles containing a sticky clear liquid. She dressed the womens wounds and tended to the broken bones that the man had suffered under impact of falling to the ground. Evelynn then helped the women off her work bench and followed them as they made their way to the door.
"We can't thank you enough. You saved me and my wives lives and for that we owe you" The sound of their gratitude filled her with satisfaction and was only glad to be of service.
"No problem, should you need anything else then I'll always be here" She said happily, closing the door after them and watching them walk away. Another satisfied patient, another life saved, yet it was all in a days work in the life of a physician.
