Arthur stared into the water that lay on the table between Raven and he. To him it was just a bowl, but the way that Raven was looking at it was like it was alive, like she could see something within its rippling surface.
But alas, as hard as he might try, it still just stayed as water to the prince.
He imagined that what she was seeing was something terrible though, for the terror in her eyes as she watched it (whatever 'it' was) was apparent and he felt obliged to help her. She was after all, a damsel in distress, and Arthur was a sucker for those.
"How should we begin?" He asked, flashing a quick nod at Merlin to signal they were going on a quest.

Arthur listened carefully as Raven began describing the jewelled pendant that she had taken from around her neck. He had little understanding of magic, and had never been particuarly interested either, but from what he gathered her talents must be rather different to Merlins. He had never used jewellery or spoken of elements before, but he supposed just as some warriors fought with swords and others with hammers, magicians must have specialities too.
"This amulet...Is it worth a lot?" Arthur asked, unable to take his eyes off of the glorious thing. It was almost as though it had him in a trance and he was powerless to resist, but just then Merlin returned and thankfully he was able to tear his eyes away.
"What will you do with this water?" He asked Raven, as Merlin set the dish down in between them both. It didnt look to be anything special, but he had a funny feeling that that was all about to change...

"Yes...Merlin..." Arthur murmered, barely having heard what he had babbles. He was still reeling from what Raven had said. Her uncle was trying to killher?
He never understood why everyone seemed to have such dark lives these days. Maybe it was because the Brotherhood were getting stronger, or perhaps life had always been that way and Arthur had just been too young to realise. Either way he knew that as prince of Camelot he had to do all he could to protect those like Raven.
"Raven you must tell me more about this situation." He said firmly, signalling to one of the sitting rooms just off of the main entrance hall. "Merlin you come too, your magic may be of assistance!" Without waiting for a reply from either of them, Arthur marched forth and took a seat at a low table.

Arthur relaxed a little as he realised who Raven's father was. As a boy Arthur had often trained with knights as per his fathers request, and thus had gotten to know several of the men quite well. Raven was teh spitting image of one such man and he just knew that she must be his daughter.
"Well welcome Raven Silvester, I hope you are finding your stay satisfactory so far?" He smiled warmly, the long forgotten armour resting precariously on the stairs. "And oh no magic is quite allowed these days! Although I would advise to avoid using around my father...he still gets a little suspicious!" He laughed and ventured down the final few stairs so that he was level with Raven.
"So what brings you to Camelot?"

"What on earth!" Bellowed a voice.
Arthur spun round unsteadily to find his father standing in the doorway, a lrage wad of cake sticking to the side of his face. He didn't look angry, but he didnt exactly look impressed either.
"Oh father, I am soooooooooo glad you're here!" Arthur slurred, stumbling over to Uther and leaning on the wooden frame that housed the door. "Y'see this booooy..." Arthur paused looking around the mess of a room for Chase, who of course had since slipped away. "Well he might have gone nowww...but this was allll his fault!" Arthur lied well, even when intoxicated but his father raised a single eyebrow and grabbed him by the scruff of the neck.
"You know Arthur, one day you just might grow up!" And with that he was dragged away.

Arthur ducked, completely avoiding the disgusting looking missile that had been aunched at him. How he had done that in his drunken state he would never know, but unfortunately a rather posh looking man behind him hadnt been so lucky.
A few seconds later, Arthur felt something slam into the back of his head, and turning around he was shocked to find a dessert covered man glaring at him, an empty pie dish in his hand.
With surprising grace and accuracy, Arthur grabbed another dish from the table and threw it back at the man. "It wasnt me!" he yelled, "It was Chase!"
The pompous old man ducked down, the dish Arthur had thrown hitting yet another innocent victim, who soon joined in the fun.
Oh dear... Arthur thought, looking at the mess he had caused, his father was not going to be happy.

Arthur glared down at Sophia, who seemed so unlike the quiet meek girl he had spent all day with it was hard to believe they were one and the same. His cheek stung, and he was surprised to find that such a dainty hand could have such a force behind it. He guess he deserved it a little, but that didn't mean he was going to forgive and forget.
"How dare you!?" He bellowed, the shock of what had just happened showing in his voice. "How dare you strike me in my own castle!?"
She seemingly ignored his words, spitting her own out with such venom Arthur was quite apalled. She really couldn't see that she was the one causing her own misery and yet if his plan had only worked...
"You know Sophia, I was quite enjoying spending time with you. Now though, I see that my first impression of you was right. You are nothing but a self centered little Princess who believes everything her daddy says. Go back to Cenred. No one wants you here!"
And wth that Arthur turned on his heel and stormed out, the spoon he had left between them wiggling gently on the floor.

"Yooowwwwwch!" Arthur wailed, the hot, sticky-sweet sauce oozing out over his nose and chunks of apple slowly dropping to the floor. He tried to wipe it away, bit it did nothing but spread to his hands and cause more mess.
"I'm not impressed." Arthur said solemnly, grabbing Chase's shirt and wiping his hands clean without any thought as to what Chase might think of that. Once the drunken fool was satisifed that his hands were squeaky clean, he delved both of them into the middle of a huge chocolate cake and threw as much as he could at Chase.
Unfortunately, Arthur missed.

Arthur slammed into the wall of the buffet suite his hair a mess and his shirt buttoned up wrong. In his hand he had an almost empty bottle of liquer. "Chase!" He shouted, pointing at the young boy with a grin spread across his face. "I remember you!" He stumbled over, placing a heavy arm upon Chase's shoulders.
"Last time i saw you, You caused me no end of trouble.." Arthur slurred, leaning his weight down onto the younger boy and nearly falling over. "It's time you paid the price!"
Arthur teetered on the spot for a few seconds, before finally managing to drag himself to the nearby table of desserts and with one foul swoop, he aimed a cream cake straight into Chase's face.
