Well as far as Noblewoman go, I would have Morgana- not sure exactly how deep you want to throw him into the court quite yet, but perhaps if he were to be introduced to Arthur/Uther they could then turn around and introduce him to Morgana?

My Co-worker's wife just gave birth to their first child (a son...and cute as a button) the other day so he is taking 2 weeks off to enjoy fatherhood/help his wife recover from really slow labour/c-section. I am filling in his schedule as much as I can to help out so although I will be around it may be fleeting and my brain may be unable to come up with logical posts...I have enough breathing room to get threads done but it might take an extra day or so...

I would have Morgana- Arthur's adopted sister/Ward of the King-> she is still untrained in her 'gift' of magic as she is still slightly fearful of what the King would do if he found that she had magic right under his nose the entire time there was a ban on practicing. Her gift flits in and out of her life....

"I moved here when I was younger, just because there wasn't many other places to go." In a way he was sort of like her. She had also come to Uther's court when she was young- around 10 years old. Her father who had been the King's best friend had been injured on the battlefield and as he lay dying Uther promised to look after her. Despite the similarities however they were different- he was obviously a citizen/servant and she a nobleman's daughter/ward of the King, however Camelot seemed to be for many a unifying factor.
"Amazing place, this is."
Morgana nodded at his comment. "I agree with you. Camelot certainly is a beautiful place." As she walked, she continued to study the titles of the books. There were certainly some interesting reading. If someone were to walk down the hallways and see the Ward of the King carrying a pile of books like a servant they might question her sanity more than they already do, but Morgana did not care. It gave her something to do on this miserably cold day, gave her someone to talk to and it seemed an interesting person at that. "Was there a reason behind reading all these books or was it purely for pleasure?"

*can't believe she hasn't done this yet...*
My answer: Arthur and HIMSELF Reasoning: Anyone who is that much of a prat could only end up with himself.

She was slightly amused by the fact that he had to peer sideways around the books to be able to see her at all. At times Morgana had been accused of spending too much time in the library surrounded by books- she could still remember the conversation with Arthur when he slipped into the library to avoid the King. Although not a lot of citizens came through this area it was one of the fastest routes back to the library- in fact that was where she had been coming from initially. â€That's... um, very nice of you, my- my lady. ...Some help would be very nice, thanks, my lady."
As she heard him speak up, despite the obvious nervous stutter, she could hear the traces of an accent. She recognized it to be from Cenred. Morgana watched as he struggled to set the pile of books down. "You must enjoy reading?" She sized up the pile of books. If they were to split the pile it would make it easier to carry. "I figure if we split the pile in half that should make the load light enough to carry?" Although Morgana looked like a delicate woman, anyone who knew her definately knew otherwise. She was as strong as they come-both in mind/temper and somewhat also in body. Before he had a chance to say that splitting it in half would be too heavy a load for her, she picked up what would become her half of the books. Morgana looked momentarily at the titles and was amazed by what he was reading.
She waited for him to pick up the remainder and headed off towards the corridor that the library was in which was actually back the way she had come. As the walked she was became a little curious as to what had brought the man to Camelot as the accent was certainly that of Cenred. "What brings you to Camelot?"

Morgana wandered down the current corridor she was in to one of the large windows. Peering out through the window she noted how strongly the winds were blowing outside and despite the boredom that was setting in, she was greatful to be inside and not out in the storm. She hoped that the citizens in the lower town were able to seek shelter from the storm. As she tore her gaze away from the window off in the distance she heard the sound of something crashing to the ground. From the echo along the stone walls she knew it was something significantly large or it had been dropped from quite a height. She waited a moment for the sound of someone in pain, but did not hear anything so she shrugged her shoulders and moved on further down the corridor.
As she approached a joining of another corridor with the one she was currently in, a man came around the corner carrying a huge pile of books that were balanced precariously in his arms. Had that been what she heard earlier hit the ground? Quickly she took in the state of his clothes and placed him as a general citizen. Morgana wasn't even able to get a word in before he retreated down another corridor. She remained where she had been for a moment simply staring in the direction he had fled. Surely she wasn't that much of a monster that a citizen would flee as quickly as he or she could? She liked to think that she was more than respectful to the lower class- Morgana more than tried to help in anyway she could...
Was he afraid that if he remained in the hallway he would have to explain what he was doing with the books or why he was lurking in the same hallway as the King's ward? Morgana had noted that the books he was carrying had threatened to fall, and most likely that had been the cause of the sound she heard earlier in the corridor. What to do? Of course Morgana could follow him and demand an explanation as for his odd behaviour or she could follow him and offer lighten the burden but would he, as a citizen, accept assistance from her- a noblewoman?
After momentarily weighing the options- angry noblewoman or nice noblewoman, she decided the second one might be better. Even if he was unwilling to accept her help she could at least offer to send a servant or guard to help him out? With that decision in mind Morgana followed him. As she went down the corridor he had fled down, she saw him trying to balance the pile of books. "That is quite a number of books for one person to carry- would you allow me to help you or find you someone who can help?"

As much as Morgana loved the beauty that was the winter, she did not like the fact that the stone castle made it way to cold to do anything. She along with the rest of court was stuck inside as the snow had whipped up and there was quite a storm outside so it was unsafe to venture out so she had to find ways to keep herself occupied. Morgana had hoped to while away the time in the library but even with the fires that were set to ward off the chill it was a cold place. She found that while she had been sitting reading the cold attacked her hands and feet despite the warmth she wrapped herself in.
Finding that she could NOT sit any longer, Morgana left the library and wrapped her winter weight cloak tightly around her. Where to go and what to do? As she walked through the various corridors she noted that by moving she stayed a little warmer. Sit and freeze or pace the corridors to keep warm? Either activity would keep her mind off the storm outside, but wandering through the corridors would keep her warmer than sitting...She wandered through the corridors of the castle.

The Winter Feast was one banquet that Morgana looked forward to. It was an annual feast celebrating the shortest day of the winter. Of course the castle was chilly but thanks to the fires and the warm clothing it made it a little more bearable. The afternoon of the feast arrived and Morgana, with assistance from Gwen, had donned a dress of black velvet with a gold inset in the skirt and sleeves. She was grateful that the gown was of heavy velvet as that was the only way she would not be shivering throughout the night. When the time came to affix jewellery, she chose a woven gold/silver/black onyx gemstone necklace. She then picked up the matching circlet and looked in a mirror towards her hair. The decision to leave her hair down was an obviously simple one. Once the hair was brushed, the woven circlet was placed gently on her hair and held in place with one or two pins and a black ribbon under her long hair. Later at the feast, she of course sat on the King’s left hand side and Arthur sat on his right. The meal was elaborate and there was as much wine to complement the food as requested. She was careful not to get overly drunk, but at the same time she was not going to hold back. As usual there was more than enough food and it seemed like literally as one plate of food was emptied another plate of food would arrive to be picked at, same with the wine...as one goblet was emptied a servant was right there to fill it up again. Sooner than most people Morgana reached the point that if she ate anymore she would explode and rather than test that theory, she simply put her napkin down and waited for the remainder of court to finish. Once everyone had their fill of food, she followed the King’s cue to vacate the tables so that the floor could be cleared and once that was done the dancing began. She smiled as Arthur took the hand of a lady standing nearby him and initiated the dancing. Morgana let her gaze wander over all the guests assembled and noticed who had paired off with whom for the dancing. Morgana, wearing her purple silk gown with thin blue overcoat, sat in her usual place next to the King and directly across the table from Arthur. What was different with this feast was the presence of Merlin and Gwen at the table with them instead of serving. Merlin as Arthur's man servant and also leader of the Guild sat next to the Prince and Gwen, her trusted confidant sat next to her. She gave a reassuring smile to Merlin, being careful not to laugh at the costume he was forced to wear- that stupid feather! She then turned her attention for a moment to Gwen to make sure that her friend was comfortable. Morgana had been about to enquire whether she was fine when the door opened.
Both Tristan and the Sir Agron- the man of honour tonight entered. Immediately Arthur and Merlin began to applause and it didn't take any encouragement for Morgana to also join in the applause. She came to her feet with a gracious smile in Agron's direction and applauded. Little did she realize that both her and Merlin were thinking the same thing- for someone to make it through Arthur's training schedule meant they truly deserved the honour as she suspected he didn't go to easy on the knights. She could just imagine what their training sessions were like...and was grateful that she didn't have to partake.

The day of the Archery tournament finally arrived and as much as Morgana was looking forward to challenging Arthur and the other men at Court who had registered, she was also extremely nervous. Being the lone child of the Duke of Cornwall and without her mother’s presence, she has grown up around weapons- even to the point of helping her father with his armour, playing with toy swords as a child and unknown to many a bow and arrow. Point of the story: do not underestimate her. She may be a woman, but women know that although they may not be able to fight in combat, they can still die in combat and that it is important to be able to defend yourself as much as a possible.
Gwen assisted Morgana into her deep emerald green with the wooden beaded embroidery at the top as it was a more fitted dress and therefore easier to shoot in. To ward off the autumn chill her cloak fell gracefully from her neck to her ankles.
A servant came and bowed before her. “Lady Morgana, it is your turn.†Morgana nodded and after a reassuring pat on the back from Gwen, she followed the servant boy out to where the targets were lined up. When she emerged the crowds went wild. In their eyes it was one thing to see Arthur perform- it was expected that he would participate but it was another to see the King’s ward participate. She bowed to the crowds then took the bow and arrow that was offered to her.
Morgana readied herself at the line and cast her gaze off towards the targets- there were three in succession- 50 paces, 65 paces and the final at 77 paces. She looked at the quiver in her hand and after carefully examining each arrow she determined which order she would use them in and selected her first arrow. Morgana slung the quiver over her back and turned her attention to the bow- it was light and springy in her hand and when she pulled on the string she could feel the power it contained. She knocked the arrow onto the string and took a moment to get her stance comfortable the fired at the first target. With ease it sunk into the center of the target and the crowd went wild. After allowing a moment for the crowd to settle she moved onto the second target. Morgana took a deep breath to settle the nerves as she set up the next arrow. The target was a little further so she took care to recheck her aim and then fired the second arrow. It pierced the center ring but just slightly off center. Finally the third arrow- She set up her bow, took her aim and fired... It hit the second ring. Three shots, three hits...and again the crowd went wild. "I thank you my Lord" Morgana bowed to the King and then to the crowd, then left the line.

Morgana still lay tucked in the covers of her bed unready to get up yet. The previous night's sleep had almost gone the entire night uninterrupted and as that was rare she was almost afraid to wake up. It had only been interrupted for a brief moment when a she awoke from a dream, but after reassuring herself that everything was fine she was able to go back to sleep. Now, what would the day bring? While she wasn't entirely sure what the day would bring she knew she would at least have the energy to face it this time.
She heard the door to her chamber open and although no voice was spoken she recognzied the almost quiet steps of Gwen- her maidservant. Although Gwen was her servant, over the years since Morgana had moved to Uther's court Gwen had always been by her side supporting her, caring for her and anticipating her needs even before Morgana could announce them. Morgana truly was grateful for Gwen and would do practically anything to make sure the girl was taken care of.
"Good morning, My Lady...And a beautiful day it is today."
She lay on her side away from the window, but the sound of the curtains scraping against the rod and Gwen's quiet but present voice made her roll over with a smile. The autumn sunlight had now been given permission to flood into her chambers. As she sat up she scanned the room. Her gaze stopped on the bunch of autumn flowers that were sitting on the table. She noted that the vase they were in was different than normal but didn't let that bother her- vases were always getting broken or moved around. Once her eyes adjusted to the light Morgana slipped out of bed and between herself and Gwen was able to get dressed for the day.
"Good Morning Gwen. It certainly does seem like a wonderful day outside. Perhaps you would join me later for a walk in the orchard or a ride?"
Of course Gwen was primarily her maid, but the girl also had other work to make sure of so it was important to note that the tone of Morgana's voice gave Gwen the right to refuse if she knew her day would be too busy. That was something that worked well for the pair. Morgana was independant enough that she didn't require a maid to be around her 24/7- although nobility by birth, she had been raised to take care of herself as much as possible. If Gwen knew she was going to have plenty of work to do then Morgana could entertain herself with a walk or a ride- although if she went out beyond the castle grounds of course a guard would accompany her for safety.
