Dreamer watched at Dante asked him for a drink, and then retreated into the Tavern. He waited there for a few minutes, thinking about his next action. Eventually he figured that a crowd would be a better setting for the rest of their conversation, less bladed objects to point with.
Dreamer walked into the The Ram and tried looking for Dante in the crowd. He eventually was able to get a half a second glance at him towards the bar. He made his way around and found him sitting down with one ale and one milk. The man knew him too much.
He sat down and sipped at his milk for a moment before speaking in a hushed tone, "I don't believe you when you say the orb is gone, something that precious could not be smuggled out so quickly, i know, so don't try convincing me otherwise". Dreamer gave him a defiant look and turned back to his milk for a moment.
Then he found his next words, "And if you or your partner ever think of stealing from my guild again, i will tend to the matter personally". As much as the words sounded like a threat, they weren't, Dreamer used a more caring and worried tone.

Dante watched with careful eyes as the boy sat down next to him. He listened and sipped slowly at his ale. "Perhaps it is gone, perhaps not. Either way, you will never see it again. My partner and I know the value of the stone, and it is worth more than everything we had in those bags we left behind." He said over the rim of his glass as to took another swig.
Dante placed the tankard onto the bar and looked at Dreamer. "We will not need to steal from anywhere for a good while." He replied simply. He knew that this would probably anger the boy, he had quite the temper it seemed, but they were in a room full of people and Dreamer would not want to draw attention.

Dreamer twitched, he knew he had, it was an instinctive action that he had been unable to control at that moment. He didn't like that Dante seemed to flaunt his theft in front of his face so openly. Or the fact that he had not denied the man their friendship, and he still waved his lost treasure in front of his face.
"Yes, and maybe you would be better off if you or your friend had been skilled thieves, then you may have made off with your intended treasure, and had not made so many terrible mistakes".
Dreamer knew his insult would dig into the man, it was a bad thing to challenges a thieves ability if they were good enough. It was the truth though, Dreamers way of fighting back the mans rude comments. Dreamer could name at least three mistake, off the bat, that the two had made.
That was without putting thought into it.

Dante laughed. This did not so much anger as amuse him. Mistakes were made, but it was more the unforeseeable events that led to the loss of their haul. He lifted his glass once again and took a drink before placing back on the bar. He was not trying to taunt the boy but he kept bringing up the damn stone. If he just accepted that is was gone and move on Dante wouldn't have to keep talking about it.
"Perhaps." He replied simply with a smile. Dante didn't view the heist so much as a failure as a learning experience. He would learn from the things that went wrong and would only become better from it. He was a strong believer that what didn't kill him made him stronger.

The man was either a very good liar, or just couldn't care less about what Dreamer had to say about him. Dreamer found that slightly aggravating, but not enough to show his defeat. Instead, he downed the rest of his milk and called for another one.
They drank in silence for awhile, Dante and Dreamer. It seemed they couldn't find much more to say, at least Dreamer couldn't. Part of him wanted to hex the man and force the information out of him, the other part would never let him do it. What Dreamer said was true, he just couldn't think of Dante as anyone other than his friend.
It seemed Dante had made life complicated for Dreamer.

Dante glanced at Dreamer from time to time as they sat silently at the bar drinking milk and ale. He thought about their last meeting, he had lied the whole way through. Now that the lies were unravelling he figured that maybe he should just tell Dreamer his true story. The way he was raised, how he evolved, or devolved, into an assassin. He finished his drink and slid the empty mug down the bar and turned to Dreamer.
"You want to know the real story?" He asked.

Dreamer felt a little relieved when Dante broke the silence with the offer to tell a story. Dreamer didn't know what kind of story he was going to tell though. In fact, he was quiet oblivious to Dante's serious intentions, thankfully it didn't show.
"Only if you don't tell the one about the three little boars and the Mighty bad wolf" Dreamer said. He raised his glass of milk to his lips, and took a giant gulp. When he put it down, Dreamer turned back to Dante and smiled a little. Dreamer hated how much he couldn't hate the man.

Dante chuckled. "No, no piggies in this story."
He took a sip of his ale and sat it down on the bar before speaking. "I was born in Milan twenty three years ago. My father was a merchant. He openly opposed the lord of the land and to avoid persecution my family had to flee the country when I was young. My mother died on the journey, leaving my father to raise me alone. When we arrived in Spain my father became a farmer and used the last of his merchant money to send me to a monastery to be educated. After ten years I returned to the farm to find out that my father was killed by the Prince of the county where he lived. One night, the Prince was walking through the woods alone, and I enacted my revenge. That is how I became an assassin." He finished and took a swig of ale.
"That story was not meant to put pity on me or anything, just thought you should know."

Dreamer couldnt help but feel bad for Dante as he listened to his trying tale. Finding his father dead after ten long years, then killing the man responsible for revenge. It was a sad tale, he admitted that, but another thought ran threw his head as he was feeling sorry for him.
At least he had known his father
That thought alone let him let go off his sympathy, seeing as Dante didnt want it. Dreamer shrugged and finished his milk, waving for another. "On the other had," Dreamer said, "I think i would have rather heard about the piggies". Dreamer smiled, he couldnt help the feeling of wanting to help Dante with his humor.

Dante chuckled as he finished his drink. "Perhaps another time." He replied. He slowly stood up and clapped Dreamer on his shoulder. "I must be going. See you soon." He stood there for another moment before he turned and left the bar onto the streets. As he walked towards his destination he wondered about why Dreamer still wanted him around. Human nature was one thing that would always confuse Dante.
