Dante listened in an interested way to Evie explain her affinity for wanted criminals. It was strange, but it made sense. When the question was asked of him he sighed and drained his glass.
"I live on shifting sands." He began slowly. He wanted to make his explanation clear. "In the world where I live, nothing is a constant. People die, people run, and they just slip out of your life more quickly than they got in. I had a girl in Spain I loved, I had two partners in crime. The woman died of disease, Raul was arrested, I left Fabian when I escaped to Camelot. It was rather difficult." He said. His lady had died years ago, the pain was a dull ache, but he had only left his friends less than a year ago and it stabbed like a knife. He swallowed hard and continued.
"I try to avoid being close to people, but my life would be more miserable without them. In Camelot I have Henry, the best of friends." He said and turned to Evie. "And if I'm lucky I get you." He said with a smile, ending his speech on a playful, happy note.

Post by Selphia Dek on Nov 12, 2009 11:55:19 GMT
Selphia was so wrapped up with dancing with the children that she did not realize that they had become surrounded by most of the crowd. One by one the children disappeared leaving Selphia to continue dancing. She smiled and spun about in countless circles. Her robes swirling about her as she did so. Her hood slipped back and down to her shoulders. Long tresses of pale locks fell about her shoulders and cascaded about her slender form while she danced. The firelight cast upon her pale feature, making her appear rather unnatural. Her pale looks absorbing the orange yellow glow of the fire. Her eyes flickered as if they held a flame within them.
The music was lively and she was enjoying herself greatly. She was making her about the large bonfire when she felt someone bump her from behind. She turned abruptly and looked at the person. A young woman stood looking at her. Selphia tilted her head to the side. Wondering if the woman wished something of her. Perhaps she was looking for one of the children she was dancing with. But when Selphia looked about her the children were gone. She chewed her bottom lip at this time wondering just when it had been that she lost them.
“Can I help you?†she asked, wondering if she would be at all a help to anyone, since she herself was new. Her pale gaze darted about the place, as her thoughts raced and she closed her eyes trying to focus herself. When she opened the again she smiled, before looking about the area again.
She had glanced pass Kate to a few other dancers one standing out a little more then others were. He looked to be having a grand time. She could not help but smile at such enjoyment. Her gaze back quickly back to Kate waiting for her reply.

Post by Katlyn Isabel Blake on Nov 12, 2009 17:21:55 GMT
"Oh!" Katlyn exclaimed, a smile beaming across her face, she was still in a good mood from her Arthur induced thoughts. "Im so sorry!" The girl she had accidentaly crashed into was beautiful, there was no mistaking but her skin was oddly pale as were her eyes and hair, and it gave her a strange glow, like that of freshly fallen snow.
Katlyn was pretty, but her looks were just the usual, glossy hair and bright eyes, there was nothing special about her, whereas this girl was incredible. She wished she could be more like her, the firelight flickering over her skin was mesmerizing. "Hi." She said holding out a firm hand. Her skin was rough from farmwork, but as long as this girl didn't know her name or see her face, she would never be able to connect her with her alter ego who was meant to be a noble from a far off kingdom.
Part of her wanted to tell this girl more but she just wasn't prepared to bare her soul to a stranger. For all she knew this girl might be a noble herself, and may recognie her from one of the parties Katlyn had attended. Knowing the truth would confine Katlyn to her life as a farm girl, and she would hate that.

[Dante shall we move back to our old thread/make a new one after this?]
Evie sat crossed legged as she listened to Dante's story. She could understand how hard loss was, losing your parents was hard enough but Evie had always been surrounded by a stable community in Camelot. Dante had lost these people close to him, and then on top of everything had to travel to a foreign land and start all over again. When Dante mentioned Henry again, she decided she would like to meet him. They were obviously close, and Evie half wished that she had a friend of the same sex that she was really close to.
Her lips pursed into a smile when Dante finished speaking- "And if I'm lucky I get you."- Evie stood up. Dante had ended on a light note, he obviously didn't want to talk about the people he had lost, but Evie was thankful that he had told her about them all the same.
"Luck? I didn't have you down as a superstitious one..." she joked, pulling Dante to his feet. "Walk me home? Then maybe I'll decide if I want some company tonight." She slid her arm through Dante's. She hadn't had so much fun at a harvest bonfire since her father had taken her years ago.

((sure, sounds good!))
Dante smiled at Evie and let her lock arms with him. He turned his back on the bonfire, his face immediately feeling cold. He wrapped his cloak tighter around himself, made sure his hood was covering his face and led her out of the courtyard.
He had never seen his breath before in his life, but tonight it left his mouth in wispy clouds. It was intriguing, a mystery to Dante. He had always lived in warm climates and the frigid English winter was very new to him. He would have to buy a thicker cloak soon if he was to keep warm. He had been tan most of his life, but here the sun's rays were less intense, leaving his skin paler than usual.
As he left with Evie his old friends, and old life, seemed distant, as though they were in an ancient world. He tried to escape his past, but the scars he bore on his face, chest, arms and legs were a constant reminder of the old life he used to live. Every man is haunted by his past, but it seemed like Dante was cursed. He often wondered what his life would be like if he had never made that fateful trip into the woods and killed the Prince in Spain. Would he be living a life of peace on a farm or would he be dead of disease? His way of life left no room for regret, he knew that, but sometimes it was hard not to.
Those thoughts were far from his mind at the moment. Now he was thinking about Evie, and Henry, Camelot, and Arthur. He was finally settling into his new life, and this time he promised himself, he wouldn't leave it.

Arthur finished dancing and sighed with relief. It had been an exhausting evening and everybody was looking forward to getting to bed. This thread is now closed. Anyone who wishes to continue RPing can do so in other threads and continue from when the bonfire ended.
