Raven relaxed. "I need to see the brotherhood's doctor." she said. She took another tunnel that lead back to the halls. She ran up to the doctor. "Byron! I need your help." she said. He nodded and ushered her inside his room.
"Whats the problem." he said. "I need you to check if im with child." she said. Byron nodded and took some blood. He put it in his cauldrom and added some more ingeridants. The test was positive and Byron turned around back to Raven with a smile on his face. "You're pregnant." he said. A wide smile spread acroos her lips and she went to tell Lancelot.
She gave him a hug as she walked out. "I hope you're ready for a son or daughter." she said, lovingly.

Raven suddenly burst out, as Lancelot had found that she was often prone to .... that she needed a doctor .... a doctor? "Why, are you feeling ill?" However, he considered, she didn't seemed to be anxious, but rather seemed to be somewhat .... happy. She had then darted down a tunnel out of sight.
Lancelot decided that he would wait for her to return. She didn't seem to be too anxious for follow, and he was not too encouraged to explore down tunnels that he was unfamiliar with. As a result he found where he was at presently would be a good place to wait for her. He just wondered if the news would be good or not. It seemed like it took quite a while, but he knew in reality that it had taken only a few minutes at most. She did have a broad smile on her face, though, as she left the tunnel, so he figured that her news must be good. Her news, however, when she told him, hit him like a pail of cold water in the face. "You are pregnant .... for how long?," he asked, finding the whole situation quite surreal. "Mine?"

"I'm only a few days gone." Raven said as she held him. "And yes, £ou are the father." she smiled. She kissed him deeply and passionatly. She never wanted to let him go. Ever. She then had an idea. "I need to see Arthur. Can you get me an appointment with him?" she asked. She needed to tell Arthur about the threat the Templars posed and that he needs to tell Uther that one of his best knights was an Assassin. Raven's father. All the Assassins want is peace. That is what they strive for. That is their goal in life.

"Only a few days, but how is it possible to know so soon?" Lancelot was not very familiar with the ways of women, but he had never heard of such a quick test of pregnancy. He had always heard that a woman's cycle had to be interrupted as a first sign of pregnancy. He thought back now, though, to that time they had spent together. If she had been fertile there was no reason why she wouldn't have conceived then. "Yes, I suppose it does make sense that I am the father. Are you sure this is what you want?" Hardly before he had gotten the words out she had launched herself at his lips, in one of her more passionate displays that he had witnessed so far.
Finally they separated, and he heard the question that she whispered out to to him. "Arthur? Why just Arthur? I don't know. He will want to know the reason why even before he agrees to it. Are you planning to tell him about us .... and the child. Does he already know that you are an Assassin, or will you tell him. You realize he may not be any more willing to listen to you about the Templars than Uther. If Uther finds out that you are an Assassin and we are lovers that I will be looked on as disloyal and be thrown in the dungeon. Have you really thought this all through, knowing the one duty I can never disobey is my responsibility and fealty to the Pendragons?"

"I understand, but Arthur needs to know about The Sacred Scroll of the Pagans." she said. She put a hand on her womb, protectivly. "I will tell Arthur about us." she said and sighed. "Come let's go and find him." Raven said and took Lancelot's hand.

What was this, he had never heard of it. In his many conversations with Merlin on the subject of Magic he had never heard him mention anything about and magical scrolls. "And just what is this Sacred Scroll of the Pagans? Is it an evil object, or is it like most things in this world, a mixture of good and evil, with it being a question of how its used."
He died not sense that she meant violence, which seemed to be a change for her. "I will tell him that you wish to meet with him on an important matter, but I will not tell him precisely what it entails. The final, decision, though, will be Arthur's. I'm afraid that if he is told specifically, what you want to talk about, he will go to his father, and that would be unfortunate, given the way Uther might respond. So, let's go seek Arthur out and see what he says." He had some doubts whether he would speak with her on such an issue, but he was aware as well that Arthur could be full of surprises.

Raven stopped and turned to face Lancelot. She rested her head on him. "The Scroll contains ancient and powerful spells, that if it falls into the wrong hands it can be deadly. The Assassins have kept this Scroll safe for the better part of four hundred years." she expalianed. "The Templars want it to bring down the Pendragon line, so that they can put their French king on the English throne." she said. She looked up at him. "We have kept the kings of the ages safe for this long but we need more support from knights such as yourself and Camelot." she said. She took her lover's hand and placed it on her womb. "For our little one." she almost pleaded.Raven then slowly closed her eyes, and brought her lips to his and kissed him softly but passionatly.

Lancelot had never heard of such a document. Normally, the power of words was in the effect they had people and their emotions, not in some physical power that they possessed. Obviously, these scrolls were different. He listened carefully as she explained their powers and their long history. He noticed, though, that she did not go into much detail about what the powers of these spells were. "Ahh .....," he was particularly surprised that the Assassins would be the self-appointed protector of this object. As such, it seemed that they shared this attribute with the Templars. Each one saw it as the ultimate defender from the other it seemed. Well, at least her heart was in the right place, he thought, and she was apparently trying to do what was right, at least from her perspective.
"A french king you say. Well, you must admit that English kings have controlled stretches of 'french' territory on the continent. So, for them to want to do the same thing here is not exactly unexpected or surprising, especially with as weak a king as Uther has been recently." Hmmm ..... he wondered. Was that true love that he saw in her eyes, or was she looking to use the child that she carried as a final means of persuasion .... the ultimate weapon to use against him and the chivalrous code that he followed. She followed with a deep kiss, which was something he expected that she thought he could not resist, and he couldn't, as he returned it with feeling, physically and emotionally.

She pulled back and caressed his face gently. "Do what you feel is right my darling kinght." she whispered. She loved him so much that she wanted him to follow his heart. She held both his hands and smiled at him. "Know this. I can't live without. If you die, I die." she said. Everyword she said was nothing but the truth. She could never lie to Lancelot, ever.

Lancelot did not know if he absolutely trusted her yet. He did not think, nor matter what she said to the contrary, to make her choose between himself and the Assasins. he was pretty sure that even though she said that she could not live without him, that with her family connections to the Assasins, that she could never betray them. Just as he could never betray his heart. He would lay down his life in defense of Arthur and the Pendragons.
"Understand that I will always have to conduct myself as the Knightly Code instructs. My honor and my duty demands my loyalty of the Pendragons. I will have to follow both my head and heart. Do not force me to choose between you and another patron, and I will try never to ask of you such a thing as well. Know too that the day may come that I may have to give up my life, but you will have to go on, especially since it is not only yourself that you have to think about, but the child that you carry within you as well." he hoped that she would seek to continue to live her life if ever he had to sacrifice his for another's, he pondered as he continued to walk.

Raven looked at her lover. "I've made my choice. I choose you. You and our child are the only people I need in my life." she said, gently. Raven brushed a stray lock of hair out of his beautiful eyes. She trailed her middle finger down the side of his perfect face and stopped to caress his cheek. A tear fell from her left eye. "My life is complete now I have you." she whispered. He was her true love, Raven felt it in her heart. Her parents and her grandfather would always tell her to follow her heart when it came to love. Raven nuzzled into him. She loved him so much that she would die for him.

So, she said that she had made her choice, but exactly how thoroughly had she thought this choice through he wondered silently. He knew that with her temper that certain subjects had to be approached quite carefully. "Hmmmm I am quite flattered, my love. However, there are some items that need to be addressed. What of this vision where you foresaw my imminent end. How do you reconcile that with the future that you are committing yourself to with me? Secondly, I am a military man by nature, and as a militarist I am not only interested in a conquest but in acquiring information. That is, to ask questions," and he paused, waiting to see what her reaction would be.
"Questions about the future Grand Master of the Assassins." He listened to her heartfelt pronouncement of her love for him and their child, and he watched the tear slowly trace its way down her cheek. He questioned whether even their love would make her complete, until the Templars had been dealt with and she was firm,y leading the Assassins.

Raven felt a little lost. "What if Dreamer finds out about us and the baby. Whilst I'm with child my powers aren't as strong." she said. She was begining to panic. Some of her Assassins were magically talented. She rushed back to the hideout to gather the Brotherhood Mages.
She was panicking. One of her close friends, Maria, put her arm around Raven as she explained Dreamer's temper. "Don't worry My Lady. If he tries anything we'll be there. We'll be in your shadow." Maria soothed. Raven nodded. All she wanted was Lancelot that was all.

"So .... it is Dreamer then. I think it is a question of when, not if. There are all kinds of strength and powers, though. That is an eventuality that you will need to prepare yourself for. Did you not consider what his reaction would be? By your present reaction I think that you have known that it would not be .... positive."
If it was not fear, exactly, that he saw in her eyes, it was being unsure of what was to come. She had not considered this, at least in her conscious mind, he understood. He watched her run off and understood that she had somewhere to go, someplace where he could not or should not follow. She needed protection from her fellow Assassins. It was important, he thought for herself and the child she carried to be protected. He could and would take care of himself. He had been doing it all of his life. Besides, he had his duties to Camelot, as a Knight, to concern himself with as well. She would return when she could, he knew.
