Lady Raven had been summoned to the Palace as she was a new resident here in Camelot. She sighed as she dismounted her steed and looked up and the massive building. Her eyes had a light shade of purple on the lids and her lips were a dark red. Her pentagram glinted in the sunlight and her dress billowed out behind her as she climbed the steps into the entrance hall. She sighed she was rather nervous. She still wanted to keep her magical ability from Uther but he had now accepted it. She sat in a window sill and looked outside. The fleeing from her hometown was heart breaking enough but she had to do it in order to seek help from Arthur Pendragon. She knew he was a skilled Knight and maybe with his help she could reclaim her precious Devonshire. Raven heard a clatter and turned her head. Somone had sropped some things. "Oh here let me help you." she offered, with a beautiful smile. Outfit

Arthur was fuming. Merlin was supposed to have taken his armour to the training ground hours ago, but being the useless oaf that he was, he had forgotten, and now Arthur was having to do it himself. With great difficulty. His arms were laden with the heavy equipment, and trying to see where he was going was more or less impossible. He knew when he had found the stairs though, for he stumbled on the top step, and sent the pile of armour tumbling down it.
A low growl emitted from Arthur's throat and he stomped down the steps, picking up the dropped mail and greaves on his way. This was absolutely no way to spend his day off...
"Oh here, let me help you!" send an unfamiliar voice. Arthur glanced up, not recognising the face before him. It was unusual to find a stranger in the castle, and narrowing his eyes Arthur laid the freshly rescued armour back on the stairs.
"And who exactly are you?" He asked, folding his arms and furrowing his brow.

Raven smiled and let out a chuckle. "I'm Lady Raven Silvester of Devonshire. My father was a knight of yours." she said. "Don't look so frightened I won't bite. I'm here to see you actually. I'm new to this wonderful kingdom and apprently nobility must meet with royalty before getting settled. Thats what I heard." she sighed. She touched her pentagram that was around her neck. "Is magic still forbidden here?" she asked with a hint of fear in her voice.

Arthur relaxed a little as he realised who Raven's father was. As a boy Arthur had often trained with knights as per his fathers request, and thus had gotten to know several of the men quite well. Raven was teh spitting image of one such man and he just knew that she must be his daughter.
"Well welcome Raven Silvester, I hope you are finding your stay satisfactory so far?" He smiled warmly, the long forgotten armour resting precariously on the stairs. "And oh no magic is quite allowed these days! Although I would advise to avoid using around my father...he still gets a little suspicious!" He laughed and ventured down the final few stairs so that he was level with Raven.
"So what brings you to Camelot?"

"Im here to see Merlin. I need to brush up on my magic." she smiled. She looked at the armour. "Would you like me to clean that for you?" she asked with a warm smile on her ruby lips. Suddenly a knight came in. He saw the prince and the lady. "Sire, there is a man at the gate requesting to see Lady Raven." the knight said. Raven almost reeled backwards. "Tell that spawn of satan that I am out of the country." Raven sighed. "It's my uncle. He's been tracking me down for years trying to dispose of me." she informed. The knight bowed his head and left. Raven's heart was going ten to the dozen. "You have to help me Sire. The whole peace of Devonshire will be threatened if he is allowed to roam free." she begged Arthur.

Merlin extended a hand to open the big oak door, when a knight burst through it from the other side, almost knocking him to the ground. He turned to watch the knight hurrying away, red cape billowing behind him, and wondered why on earth he was in such a rush.
"Arthur!" Merlin caught sight of the Prince in conversation with a young woman who he did recognise. "Your armour... I'm sorry... I spilt one of Gaius' cauldrons all over the bench, and I had to mop up and..." he trailed off, sure that his excuses were not going to do him any favours but at least it explained the brown stains that covered his clothes. It was at this point that Merlin noticed the dark haired woman Arthur was talking to was a noble, and he nodded his head toward her.
"Sorry for interrupting you, m'lady." he turned back to Arthur holding out both arms, "Shall I take that armour for you now sire?"

"Yes...Merlin..." Arthur murmered, barely having heard what he had babbles. He was still reeling from what Raven had said. Her uncle was trying to killher?
He never understood why everyone seemed to have such dark lives these days. Maybe it was because the Brotherhood were getting stronger, or perhaps life had always been that way and Arthur had just been too young to realise. Either way he knew that as prince of Camelot he had to do all he could to protect those like Raven.
"Raven you must tell me more about this situation." He said firmly, signalling to one of the sitting rooms just off of the main entrance hall. "Merlin you come too, your magic may be of assistance!" Without waiting for a reply from either of them, Arthur marched forth and took a seat at a low table.

She looked at Merlin. "Can you please fetch me a bowl of water. It helps me with my visions." she smiled. She took out a gold Pentagram. "This is what hes after." she said. It was jewel encrusted. "Each point represents one of the five Elements. Air, Earth Fire, Spirit and Water." she said. "It holds the powers of my ancestors if he gets a hold theres no knowing what he will do." she said.

Merlin was surprised that Arthur didn't even raise his voice; he must have been having a serious conversation with the woman before him. He moved toward the table as Arthur sat, but as Raven requested a bowl of water, he gave a curt nod and turned to the door instead. He hadn't a clue what was going on, but Arthur was (usually) a good judge, and if he thought this was important then Merlin would do what he could to help. Besides, he could directly disobey orders, he was a servant after all...
Merlin disappeared from the room immediately, treading the familiar path down to the servants' quarters; he returned within minutes with a brass dish of water and placed it on the table, then stood back, waiting to understand just what was happening.

Arthur listened carefully as Raven began describing the jewelled pendant that she had taken from around her neck. He had little understanding of magic, and had never been particuarly interested either, but from what he gathered her talents must be rather different to Merlins. He had never used jewellery or spoken of elements before, but he supposed just as some warriors fought with swords and others with hammers, magicians must have specialities too.
"This amulet...Is it worth a lot?" Arthur asked, unable to take his eyes off of the glorious thing. It was almost as though it had him in a trance and he was powerless to resist, but just then Merlin returned and thankfully he was able to tear his eyes away.
"What will you do with this water?" He asked Raven, as Merlin set the dish down in between them both. It didnt look to be anything special, but he had a funny feeling that that was all about to change...

Raven hovered her hands over the bowl. Her eyes flashed gold and the water became a looking glass. She looked at the destruction on her homeland. "He says hes doing this for peace. He is a dark sorcerer. Dealves into magic I dare not speak of." she said. He savage looking uncle was sat on his ebony steed in black atirre. He had his sword drawn and was killing innocents. "Please help me Arthur you're my last hope." Raven said.

Arthur stared into the water that lay on the table between Raven and he. To him it was just a bowl, but the way that Raven was looking at it was like it was alive, like she could see something within its rippling surface.
But alas, as hard as he might try, it still just stayed as water to the prince.
He imagined that what she was seeing was something terrible though, for the terror in her eyes as she watched it (whatever 'it' was) was apparent and he felt obliged to help her. She was after all, a damsel in distress, and Arthur was a sucker for those.
"How should we begin?" He asked, flashing a quick nod at Merlin to signal they were going on a quest.

Raven sighed as she came back to the here and now. "We have to be careful. My uncle is the best Seer in the whole of England." she sighed. "I have to see a dragon. Maybe he or she can help us as my uncle has a soft spot for the beasts." she said and stood up. Her magic would only get them so far and even if her magic, combined with Merlin's, would defeat her uncle that would just be sheer luck. "His castle is located in Cornwall. He has gaurds in patrol day and night." she informed Arthur.

Merlin watched Raven perform her magic quietly. Arthur looked keen to help her; he could never resist helping a girl who came to him like this. Merlin resisted rolling his eyes at the Prince's eagerness... he didn't want a swat round the head for insolence.
"Well I don't know about a dragon..." he began, eyeing the Prince warily as he spoke, "But we'll have trouble if he's a seer. He'll be able to predict our every move. We somehow need to formulate a plan without even knowing what we're doing. It should work if we make last minute snap decisions. What do you think m'lady? How many knights will you need to accompany you?"

Raven sighed. "To be perfectly honest I could be a decoy. I don't mind putting myself in harm's way. My magic is strong as I give from an entire blood line of mages. Oh wait, Merlin can you help me out on using crystals? Some crystals can be explosive, thats what Mother told me so if we use them at your last minute desicion we can beat him. But I want to be the one that takes his life." she said Sighing, Raven looked back at the mirror. "Hmm hes at some roman ruins on the outskirts of Chester. We may need at least thrity well trained knights. My uncle is know as the Black Knight. The most ruthless in England." she informed. Raven was alright using a bow but when it came to swords her mind went blank.
