Selphia tilted her head to the side. Lifting her right hand along the side of her neck in order to remove the wet hair clung against her skin. She agreed with the riding, but she was unsure of the roads to Camelot should they not make it back before nightfall. “Aye, I have a horse. He is back in the thickets near a patch of wild berries. He likes to eat them.†She told him, she felt her cheeks grow warmer as she spoke. She didn’t wish to sound as if she babbled. But the truth of the matter was, that the horse was tied by the reins a good ways, away.
She was about to take a step pass him when he had a comment the way she looked in portion to what she might eat. Her arms curled about herself. Sure enough she did not eat nearly as much as her brother, in fact, in her mind no one did. She eats, just not a lot. So he was correct to state that she eat very little. She would take the lead. Having to find her horse in order to get back to Camelot before any terrible danger befell them. She would guide him along a narrow path away from the brook. It was during this time that he fired questions at her. Her pale gaze turned to glance at him from over her left shoulder.
“You ask a lot of questions?†She stated, pausing for a moment. “My brother often tells me that I am the one that is far to chatty. You sir…are…†She didn’t finished, feeling that she had just insulted the man. “I’m sorry sir. I spoke to freely there. I am in Camelot, I am not from the city.â€
It was hard to explain the reason why she was there. Waiting? Was that a reason? She looked at him, and offered a smile. “I am a student.†She told him and left it at that.

At Selphia's apology, Gerhard simply kept grinning and his entire body started to shake. After a moment, unable to hold it in any longer, he burst into laughter. "Sorry? Lass, I've been called far worse. So, ya came to Camelot to work with books? Never much saw the point in that myself. Never seen a book what would save me in a fight. Lads in a shield wall, good solid axe, horse with a bit o' hell in it's spirit, those will. But books and reading? No."
Taking Lil's reins and leading her over to where Slephia stood, he walked over to Selphia. "Well, best be getting to that horse o' yours. If we intend to get back to Camelot, we'll need to make some good time." Ignoring her comment about questions, he simply grinned. "And you can tell me more about the city, and what ya do there, along the way."

Selphia stood for a moment. She turned her gaze in the direction of the trail that would take her to her horse. Been called worst?†She had not realized that she had called him anything. Had she insulted him? She had no intentions of doing so. A hand pressed against her stomach, as she felt uneasy by such a thought. But it was his laughter that told her that she had not. She tilted her head to the side and furrowed her brow. Confused by his current mood. She was having a hard enough time understanding most people.
“Work with books?†she said, a light going off in her head. “ You mean read them? There are many books that people find helpful.â€
Though it was true that a book could not save a life. She gave a good long thought to Gerhard’s words. Slowly starting to make her trek down the trail that would lead her down the trail to her horse. “I have yet to find a book that would start a war.â€
Her attention turned to the trail. She had come a good distance along the trail. She closed her eyes and allowed her focus to fall away for a brief moment. The flicker of energies that rushed at her caused her form to falter. Her right hand extended out to a nearby tree to steady herself. The rush altered even her breathing as she continued along the trail. She felt the strength of the horse as it stirred, its reins tied to sturdy oak branch. The large destrier stood poised by a small opening to a grove or clearing, chewing upon the tall grass that grew there. She turned back to Gerhard, “this way.â€
A soft flow of moments and she was along the trail and standing next to her horse. “This is Brutus.†She said introducing Gerhard. “As for Camelot what would you care to know? I am only its most recent visitor. I fear there is little that I can tell you.â€
With a careful glance, and a soft hand she slipped it along the horse’s mane and grasped the reins. With another quick motion she would pull herself into the saddle and sit tall upon Brutus’ back. “shall me away there?â€

As Selphia spoke of books and reading, Gerhard frowned slightly. "Aye, reading them. Never bothered with the time to figure that out. Didn't see a point in it. Mind, you might be right about no book ever starting a war. Though I don't think I can recall a time of any book starting anything, except maybe a fire. Important things can be remembered in tales and song, and messages can be told to those who need to know them. More secure that way too. Writing and books just seems a complicated way of doing a simple thing."
As they reached the horse, Gerhard was already smiling again. "A fine beast there. Now horses I can understand. With them, I know what I'm dealing with. And by the looks of yours, you have yourself a damn good beast. Like my Lil here, strong, capable, trustworthy and reliable."
Climbing into his saddle and reining Lil in behind Brutus, Gerhard followed as Selphia led them towards Camelot. Lil neighed softly as the went, keeping a comfortable pace with the other horse. "As for the city, well, whatever ya can tell me of it would be helpful. For starters, I hear the city is big. And anything you may know of its king and its laws would be a help too. Experience has taught me thats its best to not find out something is against the law by doing it and getting arrested for it. And its easy to break the rules when you have no idea what they are."
