Legend replied, "I live in a little hut in the village, quite close to the castle." He looked back at her and grinned. They'd reached the path. He asked, "Which way?" It really didn't matter to him which way they went, either way led to an adventure that he was willing to take. It joyed him that he was finally taking a walk with someone, for it was seldom he did so. The last walk he'd taken with someone had ended in disaster. Legend grimaced at the thought of the last walk he'd had. It hadn't been his fault...well maybe. That man had that mask and Legend was curious, so he'd taken it off and had to feel the man's wrath. Legend shook his head then gazed at Felicity and smiled.
(let's say the events in Phantom's Rage have already happened but Felicity doesn't remember Legend and Legend doesn't remember her)

Legend laughed. "Come now, Felicity! If you were a shapeshifter I would have sensed something. If you were a shapeshifter, then your eyes wouldn't have widened at the sight of my magic healing my wound. You would have tensed and prepared to run, in case I was more powerful then you." He raised an eyebrow at her and grinned, "But since you did none of those things and you assured me with your words, I know for certain you are not an evil shapeshifter." He began to walk to the east, back the trail he'd been on, "Now come, that little dragon looks like its staring at us." Of course Legend was making a joke, the dragon's eyes were shut and it was lying lifeless a few feet from him.

Legend grinned mischievously when the girl offered to help him. "I am grateful for your concern, miss, but I must decline." He waved a hand and the wound closed. He smiled at her and said, "My name is Legend Filiken, pleasure to make your acquaintance." He gave her a bow and sheathed his dagger. He looked over at the body of the dragon. "Would you like to go somewhere more pleasant? That thing is a little disturbing..."

Legend had been walking along the trail, practicing magic when he heard the scream. His eyes darted around him and he drew his dagger. He wished he'd thought to bring a different weapon. But now was not the time to worry about that, someone was in trouble. Legend ran in the direction of the scream. He wasn't looking at his feet so he tripped over a root and went sprawling. It took him a moment to regain his feet, for he was sure he'd sprained his ankle. Then he drew in a breath then sprinted on. He gritted his teeth against the pain as he jogged to a stop. There was a girl trapped under a sinister looking dragon. A wyvern for sure. He'd read about them. He gave a yell and the creature lifted its head. It growled then catapulted itself at him. Great, he wasn't expecting that. He dove to the side but he was too late, the creatures long threatening claws racked his side making him wince. With a shot of new strength he shoved the dagger at the wyvern and the creature fell heavily atop him. Legend twisted his hand and the corpse levitated above him. He crawled out from under it, retrieved his dagger and let the body drop. He turned to the girl and offered her his hand.

Legend watched her go. His head cocked to the side. He wondered what she was doing. Where she was going. He wanted to find out. So he picked up his wimpy dagger and followed at a brisk pace that set him about thirty feet behind the lady's steed. He cautiously picked his way through the underbrush, unsure of what he was doing. What was he thinking going after her?! It was obvious that she didn't want to be followed. But of course, this was Legend. And Legend was curious. Far too curious for that matter. "I really am out of my mind, aren't I?" Legend muttered to himself, his thoughts wandering. Then his head snapped up as a wolf howl sounded about 100 feet to the east.

Legend strode through the countryside, his thoughts elsewhere. He had nothing better to do, so he'd decided to go for a walk. There was a short dagger attached to his belt, not that he knew how to use it. It was just there to make him look better. Well, not really, he could control it, not too well, but good enough to defend himself with it. Why he was out in the middle of the night? Legend didn't know. He didn't have a horse, or any professions, just himself, his magic, and that useless dagger. Up ahead he heard the sound of hooves and instantly pulled the dagger from its sheath. It felt heavy in his grasp, he'd never used it to kill someone before, he hoped he didn't have to use it now. He crept forward and saw the lady, sword drawn. His small dagger would be no use against the sword. He stepped out and let the dagger clatter to the ground. "I mean you no harm," he said, looking at her through gentle eyes.

I think we are just doing that for fun now. But here is my one for apprentice: The teenage boy yawned, looked around and disappeared into the thick wood underbrush. Picking his way, carefully, through the prickles and other plants Legend Filikan felt the slightest bit lonely. With an idea growing he whispered, “Animo planta equus.” A small plant beside him rose above the other plants and formed into a horse. It gave a soft whiney and turned its green eyes at Legend. The green horse reared up on its back feet and gave a shrill neigh. Legend patted its neck and spoke a few soothing words to his horse. The plant stamped its hoof and butted its head into Legend’s shoulder. He laughed. He would have to remember to show Chase Caldera this. But not now, now he would have some fun. With joy Legend climbed aboard the horse’s back and rode it bareback across the woodland terrain. At one point Legend let go of the leafy mane and spread out his arms. He gave a whoop of joy. He should not have done that. The horse reared in surprise, Legend tumbled from its back and the plant bolted at the sound of his thud. With his tail bone aching terribly, Legend got to his feet and stared after the horse in disappointment and shock. He hadn’t realized how real his creation had been. Its hooves had been stronger looking then the rest of it and were a darker green. Its mane had felt so real in his hands that he realized, now, that he had almost forgotten that he was riding a plant. Its eyes, so real; a dark green pupil, white/green around the bright green eye color. Its tail like the mane. And the rest of its body, silky and soft. A triumphant smile came over Legend and he couldn’t help it when he jumped into the air and whooped. He ran, forgetting his injury, after his creation. He found it just as it transformed into a plant once more. He didn’t care that the spell hadn’t lasted forever, just that it had worked and that it had been so real. Again he whooped. He tried another spell on the pond next to him, “Animo aqua canis.” A hound dog came to stand beside Legend and he leaned down to run his had over its watery pelt. It felt even more real then the horse had. When he let out a cry of happiness the dog howled with him. Before it turned to water once more he saw its eyes. Darker blue, sky blue, and white/blue. He was so happy that he was progressing. The next few days Legend made a cat from tree bark, a fish from lily pads and a mouse from hay. Each time the animal was more realistic. He started to try humans but it didn’t work out. The creation looked more like a blob then a human. He didn’t care; he liked seeing what he could do better. He loved fixing his failures. So day after day he would practice humans. It was much harder then animals. But he didn’t give up.

Legend thought for a brief moment. That was indeed interesting. Before answering he watched the dragon try to swat at the snake with it's tail. "Yes that it is interesting," he agreed. "Do you think that because we animated them that they are part of us?" He looked at Chase with interest, "I mean, like you said, they move like we are controlling them, maybe since we animated them they have our thoughts. It makes sense, don't you think?"

The dragon shook it's paw trying to loose the snake. If it could be counted as having feelings it would be clearly annoyed. It's watery form shimmered as the sunlight caught it. It was quite a pretty sight. The water dragon looked like some kind of icicle that wasn't ice, if that was possible. Legend thought to himself, This is a good way to practice animating objects and physical properties. He was enjoying this, and he could see that Chase was too. Or at least it seemed as thought Legend's fellow magician was enjoying himself.

Legend watched, transfixed as the dragon easily stepped to the side, avoiding the snake's blow. The dragon seemed to be frozen for a small moment, then it aimed a clawed paw strike at the snake. Legend looked at Chase to see how he would react to that. He had to admit this was a good idea.
