And the Wheel Turns....
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose among the heights of dragonmount. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was 'a' beginning.
Chaos hung in the wind like a plague. It threatened all life, great or small with its curious touch which blackened the day, and brought hell to the night. Creatures foul, and decrepit shadowspawn follow the wind to death if that be as it must all in the name of their dark lord. None of them know their mission, or the end result, but all of them fear failure. All look for one boy, his face not known, and his life not lived before, yet lived a thousand times through the turning of the wheel of time. Life was like it had never been, yet always had been, and the everyone just went on with the assumption life would come back to the ways they once where. Old men told stories of prophecy to their children to scare them not yet realising that the youngling where the ones to uphold these ancient lore. All might seem lost, but hope stirs.
War tears at the land. It breaks threatens to break the people, their will to survive, yet no one is ready to give up on the life they once lead. Friends turn enemies, enemies hide among enemies, and trust is cast to the wind that rips through the land. Light fights the dark, and dark fights to destroy everything, all good and evil. No one is left without an alliance or they are taken up in the tide that is coming down upon all these people. Slowly bit by lightforsaken bit the weavings of the wheel are beginning to fall apart as everyone holds their breath for the one to break all bonds.
Rumours spread like a wild fire through every part of the land, tales that the creator has forsaken them all, and no hero will be brought. It is this thought which brings the insanity, and has the people looking for a lord not of peace and posterity, but one of chaos. In the streets the sounds of their cries can be heard for miles as they chant, 'Let the Lord of Chaos rule' as the old story once said. Even before this man comes there are those who have given their soul to fight for him, and to fight to kill him. A legacy is made before lives are spun out, and people are promised eternity from the pit of dhoom.
All is like a waterfall, and only the Tarmon Gaidon is waiting for them insides its deep rifts. Forsaken souls walk the lands, and claim for their own the seats of power amongst these people with the shadow as their cover. All of them fight for power amongst themselves, and none of them see the threat in their own coven, awaiting the moment to strike.
Aes Sedai, no one word can describe them. Every one has their own agenda to attend to, and they have forgotten that they are one people, even as they find their halls hallow as they have ever been. Like a wolf they hunt their prey, not prepared for when it will hunt back, and not ready for when it is too hungry for them to control. Their lust for power has brought them neck deep in a hole they could not hope to escape from, prejudiced by the world, and hated by many. For all their strange abilities, and their unimaginable powers, they could not stop one power which could be their demise; distrust. All the Ajahs feel a certain amount of distrust towards their neighbor, and every man who claims the spot of Dragon makes them a little more weary of the days to come. While they all realise that days are soon to become too much to bear by themselves, none want to speak it, and so they keep to themselves.
All of them work together, great or small, though for one purpose; war. A war greater than the war of shadows hangs in the air. Trollocs are seen in groups more vast than ever before, and have found their way deep into the mainland, far from the blight. The borderlanders must have help from all nations as one, for they can no longer hold back the advancements as prophecy begins to unfold. Insanity screams from all corner of this world, and these people have not the ability to control it all. Look toward the Lord of Chaos, the only hope left for man.
