Dreamer walked across the drawbridge of Camelot. It had been many months since he had left, taking his skills beyond the walls of Camelot. He had traveled to neighboring lands, often where magical talent was an offense punishable by death, and nurtered young talent. It had been dangerous, but it had been better than the alternative.
Dreamer passed the large stone walls that kept Camelot safe, a feat nothing shorter than impressive. Feelings passed as he took a moment to look back, considering leaving again. He shook his head and moved on, he couldn't avoid this place forever. Dreamer had left some skeletons behind these walls, it was high time he faced them.
Dreamer moved about the bustling people of camelot, his stained white attire underneath a grey cloak. The cloak had become somewhat of a symbol for him. The name, The Grey Mage, had been used to describe him on more than one occassion before he left. Dreamer had used that during his trip away, as a way to be noticed by only the practicioners.
Looking around, Dreamer was relieved to find the blurring faces of citizens pass right by him. Dreamer wasn't quiet sure how he was going to contact the people of his past, considering he hadn't left all of them on bad terms. He had simply just left, no warning, he had left the moment after he told the council his intentions.
The council hadn't argued much, they didn't want him around anyway.
Dreamer stood in the middle of the crowd and just looked around, deciding what to do.

Dreamer sat at his table in mid-aftertoon, looking at a full glass of alchohol. Dreamer couldnt remember what it was, he had asked for the strongest. It had been so long since he asked though, approximatly an hour, that his mind couldn't grasp a name. He had been debating for a full hour if he should drink it.
"I should have no pause to stop," he thought," Surely i've more reason than any other man to drink my misery away." Dreamer had come under hard times the last few months, neither finantially nor respectfully. Well, maybe respectfully, but it was more of his romantic life than anything that was the cause of his ruin.
"It tastes horrible though," Dreamer said outloud. His thoughts wondered to his first and only drink, with dante. Who's loss still pained him, but not as much as his recent troubles. So he stared at the glass, unaware of any nearby on-lookers.

Dreamer cocked his head to the side, "This concerns us in what way?" he said. Raven was explaining a history of violence, which was all fine and good, but it didn't have anything to do with him. " You betrayed me, and this is not the first time. First you lie about our child. And then you avoid me to run off and sleep with another man, bearing his child for a time while declaring love, acts that you blame on your position", Dreamer's voice grew sharper, his anger boiling.
"These were not acts based on being assassin, these were your choices Raven, don't you begin blaming them on others."
Dreamer stood still as he stared Raven down.

Dreamer took a step into the room and closed the door behind him, not turning his back on Raven. Then he just stood, he let her speak. He made no inclination of moving toward her or accepting her drink, he trusted neither of them.
"Your an assassin," Dreamer said, "Dont believe i've been your dreamy eyed puppet during your whole escapade with me."
So many questions, he had so many questions for her that churned his emotions. Ones that made him want to run from the room in fear of an answer, and others that simply wanted to cause destruction. At this pace, the conversation could turn either way.

Dreamer sat beside the fire in his office drumming the fingers of his right hand against his theigh as he reread the note in his left hand. It was addressed to him, a summons from Raven. His astranged lover. After Chase had notified him about her meetings with Lancelot, Dreamer had to know for himself.
He couldn't find her.
Numb, thus was the sum of his emotional state since the ordial. Now she summoned him, as if she had the right any longer. He had a half a mind to ignore the summons, having no intention of sharing a bed with a knight. Yet, he couldnt bring himself to act upon the thought.Dreamer threw the note into the flames and grabbed his coat. There were too many things to say, he had to see her.
Even if it was for the last time.
Some time later, Dreamer came upon Raven's bed chambers. He stood there for a moment, pondering the decision for a last moment before he entered. The door was already cracked, so he simple gave it a nudge and it opened the rest of the way. Thus is when he heard her whisper for him to forgive her.
"I don't believe that is possible..." he said, announcing his presense.

...Still at least you got rid of the baby. You would have made a terrible father...
Dreamer's eyes became intense as he moved to charge chase, to throw himself over his desk and overpower the weaker coward. He held himself though, gripping his desk with the ferocity of a severely upset man. Dreamer did not know how Chase possessed that slight bit of information, the only two people alive who knew were Dreamer and Raven, so he thought.
Dreamer glared at Chase with interest, his attention caught.
...I saw them kissing on her balcony just yesterday
Chase's whole explanation boiled down to those simple words, that he himself had witnessed the act. Dreamer continued to glare at Chase, furiously thinking over the information. He wanted to question it, not only that, but to deny it. Yet, what reason did chase have to lie? If there was one thing Dreamer was certain about Chase, it was that he would like nothing more than to harm Dreamer, in any form.
He had succeeded.
Dreamer was filled with too much rage to cry, that would come later. For now, Dreamer worked on keeping himself under control. The air in the room began to grow intense, as if power were simply leaking off of Dreamer as he fought to contain himself. Dreamer would confirm the information himself, and deal with Chase later. He was no longer worth his time at the moment.
"Leave", Dreamer said, filling his words with as much threatening ferocity as he felt.

Dreamer groaned as the woman told him she would be back a moment, and ran to handle another situtaion elsewhere. He assumed her horse had bolted for the door, considering the heavy stomping of hooves leading away. Dreamer simply laid in the hay and waited for the ringing in his head to seddle back to a gentle buzzing.
Once Dreamer felt well enough he lifted himself to his feet. He felt dizzy, but that would pass. Leaning on the tip of his toes, Dreamer peered over the wooden stall to search for the woman. Instead, he found the very person he had been avoiding. Groaning, Dreamer fell back against the hay, and attempted to burry himself.

Among the tall planks supporting the stables, in the highest part of the structure, Dreamer hide from the world. The World had become to cruel, too corrupt, for him to face that lonesome night. He had taken himself from his bed in the castle to explore the Castle Grounds, and find a place that no one would find him.
Who would look for a Mage in a Stable?
Dreamer had been trying to rock himself to sleep, pushing his memories away, forcing himself to forget. Despite his attempts, he could not. Eventually he wore hismelf down to a moment of sleep that grew restless. So restless infact, that he fell form the planks above, into a pile of hay. Laying in the pile, in a stall right next to the one the Princess was using, Dreamer let out a low groan, "oooowwwweeee".
He was not pleased to have fallen, but escaping his nightmares was a pleasent suprise.

Dreamer sat still for a moment as he watched Chase, looking for signs of deception. He could fine none, Chase's broad smile could register as many things, so Dreamer payed littled attention to the information. If anything, Dreamer relaxed in his chair, and looked bored of Chase's presense.
"You question the honor of a lady, with no proof...and you mean to come to me with this?", Dreamer asked, fairly unconvinced of Chase's accusation. "What pushed you towards this visit Chase...did you wake up to find yet another regretful woman leaving your room with your coinpurse."

Dreamer sat at his desk scratching his signature on another paper and placed it away. The last one he would be writing for today, he was tired of the routine in which he wrote these useless pieces of paper. Dreamer stashed his quill and his ink as he continued to reconsidered his place at that moment.
His writing was nothing seriously important, the other council mages made sure of it. The King and the nobles required more from him, a job of danger and self-sacrifice. Why was he still writing papers for self-centered old men? Dreamer sighed, leaning back in his chair, He was getting tired and closed his eyes. Yet, when he did this, all he could see was Raven.
Raven, the curve of her lips when she smiled at him, the feel of her body against his. The calm atmosphere she could bring him to, and the equally sense of confusion and agitation. Her presence caught him off guard, The only woman who ever brought out his passion and darkness at equal levels. She was his second love, and yet the first one he made love to. He could not imagine a time when he didn't want to be by her side, even now he considered where she may be.
Dreamer wanted to comfort her, she seemed distant as of late. Dreamer did not know what troubled her, and that in turn troubled him. Dreamer yearned to know how to sooth the problems of her past, and make her consider the prospects of the next day. A smile was brought to his lips as he decided to search for her, rising from his seat. It was a little to late for that though, there was a knock at the door.
One that he would regret answering.
"Come in" Dreamer called.

Dreamer did not waver in his stance as Raven pointed her blade at him and asked what he wanted. He did not waiver when the blade clashed to the ground and she ran to him, in a fit of tears, to collide into him. Her fists pounded into his chest, and he still did not waiver.
Then she hid her face in his chest, and cried out, "Your not the same". His voice would give away his emotion as he said, "I am the same, i have never changed". Dreamer kept his inner darkness to himself, but he never lied in saying it never existed.
Raven fell to the floor spoke her sorrows with appoligies. Dreamer noticed the blood running down her arm, and his name carved into her flesh. He kneeled down with her and grasped her wrist, and tried to bring forth whatever hope and happiness he could to summon white magic. He could do little, so the wound healed, but left the permanent impression of his name in her wrist.
Dreamer then wrapped his arms and held her, letting her cry, and letting himself be comforted in her arms. He was not alone in his grief.

Dreamer had not noticed the rain until the day began to fall away, and no more tears could be shed. He could not recall how long he had been on his knees, weeping from the ovewhelming grief. He did notice that the old man was still lying a ways from him, dead, and Raven was gone.
It was probably best this way.
Dreamer couldnt feel at the moment, he kept himself from it. Feeling meant going back to his grief, weeping in his own solem place of hell. He didnt want that, so he left. The old man would be alone in the forest for nature to take care of. Dreamer was done with him.
The rain still fell as Dreamer walked and it was awhile before he came upon the cave. His numb state kept him from remembering the signifigance, but the person inside couldnt. Dreamer began to be drawn back into his grief as he stood, watching raven by the fire. She began to notice him, and pulled a blade out to face him. he simply stood there.
Cold, Grief-stricken, and feeling more alone than ever, Dreamer stood before his lover. He didnt know what to feel, so he slowly began to register all of them. He was angry with her for keeping the knowledge of their child from him until its death. Yet, he also wished to curl up in her arms and simple forget, to rid himself of the terrible lonliness.
He stood before her.

I thought it didnt matter Sound fell away as rage filled his veins with the power to kill. The air around him began to grow heavy as magic subconsiously built around him, poised to strike. Raven attempted to soothe his aching heart with her empty words and kisses he could not feel. She snuggled close, speaking words he could not hear, until she mentioned her understanding if he felt like killing her. His hand snapped to her throat and he positioned her face to his. Unknown to him, but he had changed. Veins of black flooded around his eyes as he glared at her. The eyes themselves like looking into darkness itself. "I dont think you do" he said, his voice like ice. Darkness began to seep into her skin, strangling her. "You held my child in you, and you kept that life from me..." he said, "Believeing it didnt matter...". Dreamer's rage built with each word spit. "Well guess what Raven, I BELIEVE IT MATTERS!". He screamed with such ferocity that the critters rose from their hidden perches and flew. With his rage reaching a point of manifesting pain, Dreamer was a moment away from irrationality. Looking Straight into her eyes he finally found what he felt, pain. Screaming, he let her go and began to weep. For his child, for the death, for the things he had done. He wept in his own misery.

It was too late. Dreamer was too slow, Raven too quick. Her blade pierced the man's heart. Admitinly, the only feeling Dreamer felt was disappointment. With such a quick death, Dreamer had no chance to bring his own wrath upon the hopless old man. Who killed his child "Too fast," Dreamer said, "He died too fast." Dreamer fought to keep his temper in check, but he couldnt resist. Everything inside him wanted to bring forth the pain he felt upon others. More specificly, to the one person left infront of him. Dreamer knew there was no competition in power between them, if challenged, Raven could only hold against Dreamer for a short time. Inevidably, Dreamer would kill her, if he so choosed. "You never told me"
