Name: Vaughn Adeney
Age: 25
Sex: Male
Class: Noble, but now a nomad
Appearance: Vaughn has darker features. He has large brown eyes, light skin -- though it is slightly tanned from all the time he spends outdoors -- and has a thin moustache with a very short, well trimmed beard. His hair is black and extremely curly and it runs halfway down his ears and half way down the back of his neck. He stands tall at 6"2' and has a fairly muscular build due to his intense training that he underwent. He dresses as a knight does. He is often seen wearing all of his armor and remains clad in darker colors such as black and gray. He always is armed with weapons, carrying a large dagger, and two long swords strapped to his back.
Model: Iaon Gruffudd
Character: Vaughn is a mysterious individual. He does not at all personify the qualities expected of a knight. He may be courageous and skilled as a warrior, but he lacks any sort of loyalty, empathy, and morality. He has no concern for others well being making him a selfish individual as he only looks out for himself. He has no sense of morals and values, and will only aid someone if he is to get something to gain from it, even if that something is just an adventure and the joy of killing someone else. He is sinister and can be described as cruel. He is cold and detached from all other people and beings. He can kill with no hesitation but only with purpose, and he insensitive to the sufferings of others. In fact, he finds humor in morbid situations and often makes highly inappropriate jokes. He finds others discomfort and sorrow comical and entertaining to himself. These sort of personality traits is what makes him rather unpopular, though he makes no attempt to redeem himself of this. He prefers a life of solitude. Because of his lack of peers and allies, he also therefore lacks any social and communication skills, making it difficult for him to realize when he has crossed a boundary or said something beyond the limit of appropriateness.
He has no sense of purpose or loyalty to anyone else, which is why he always needs a reason that to help someone rather than do it out of the kindness of his heart. He can be arrogant, and gives off a very insensitive vibe for he appears to show no emotion under any circumstances. He has no fear, not even in the face of death for dying to him, is something that he knows is inevitable. This lack of fear makes him reckless and irrational for he does not care about the consequences of his actions. His conversations with others are not always pleasant. He never talks about himself, unless he decides to make up a story about his past, as he will never reveal the true events of his life that had taken place. He can be considered untrustworthy and tends to find amusement in absolutely everything. He enjoys deception, a little too much, and likes to provoke people, as he is often not offended or affected by what others say to him. His heart of stone prohibits him from experiencing any sort of emotion. He can be patient, and does not have a temper, however he can be extremely unpredictable, making him a bit dangerous. He is more analytical than people assume. He in intelligent but presents himself as the opposite, again, returning to his enjoyment of deceiving others.

Character History: Vaughn was the first son, born into a noble family in a Kingdom far beyond Albion. He has a younger brother, and three sisters. He lived a typical life of a noble, perhaps the only difference being that even at a young age, he did not have a sense of right and wrong. He acted more selfishly than consider the feelings and needs of others, and while his father tried to instill some values into his son, it did not prove to be effective. Vaughn, like any nobleman, was sent at a young age to serve as a page. He went to a neighbouring estate and fulfilled the necessary duties for him to move smoothly up the ranks as he later became a squire, and by the age of seventeen, became a knight. When he returned home, an unpleasant, unexpected surprise awaited him. His younger brother by a year, was announced to be the new Lord of Adeney. This infuriated Vaughn, as he was the oldest and expected to be the new Lord of the land. His father explained to him that he was not qualified to be the heir to this land, for he did not possess the characteristics to be a good leader. Vaughn was considered too selfish, and inconsiderate which showed his inability to demonstrate the necessary compassion and loyalty to his people, and ultimately, the king. Though he had sworn allegiance, he was regarded as untrustworthy and his intentions were still uncertain by others...with good reason. It was at this moment, that Vaughn truly resented his entire family.
Not long after he was knighted, did a vicious battle break out in the land. While his intentions were unknown before, they were clear now. He was expected to lead the army, and use this opportunity to show his worthiness of the title of Lord, showing his nobility and loyalty. Instead, Vaughn did nothing. He refused to lead the army, despite his exceptional skills as a warrior, and allowed someone else to take that responsibility. Or rather, forced someone else to take that responsibility by his refusal to do anything. He felt he owed nothing to his family, and could truly care less of they tore the land apart. Vaughn stayed for some time, witnessing others going off to battle, with very few numbers returning. This did not faze him. Instead, it pleased him to see them failing. Vaughn`s father could only take a limited amount of this, and so disowned his son, stripping him of any titles and wealth. This was the greatest news Vaughn had ever heard, for it officially freed him. Instead of feeling disgraced, as his father had hoped so that he would return to his family and defend them, Vaughn took this opportunity to collect very few things, take his horse, and ride away from Adeney, never to return.
Vaughn does not know what happened to his family, nor does he show the slightest bit care or remorse for what happened. He enjoys his current lifestyle, experiencing new surroundings every day and engaging in new adventures. While he does not exactly enjoy the company of people, he enjoys pushing their buttons, seeing how far he can provoke them. This his main form of amusement, and his unfortunate hobby. He does not seek retribution for what he did, nor does he seek glory for he truly does not care about what others think of him. He cares only about himself, and looks out for only himself.
Additional Information:
Sample Roleplay: The forest of Balor. Home of wildren, balorian spiders, and the occasional elusive creatures that were only believed to exist in myth unless witnessed with ones own eyes. It was not the safest of places out there, but danger meant nothing to someone who did not fear death. It was the reason that Vaughn was wandering the woods late at night, as he did not require sleep for more than a few hours. He enjoyed the night; it allowed all the bizarre creatures of the world to come out and reveal themselves.
The air was cool....crisp...and yet, it was something that Vaughn was finding refreshing. He wore his cape to provide extra heat, but he did not want to stop to make a fire. He wanted to ride on, deeper and deeper into the woods so that he could see what adventure it had to offer. The small sounds he had came across, did not make him stop. He was not overly cautious nor was he defensive. His swords remained strapped to his back, as his reflexes were quick enough, and his arrogance strong enough, to believe that he could overcome any unexpected danger. He was not concerned. He was not tired. He was bored; extremely bored. And the Forest of Balor was proving to be a grand disappointment.
What little this menial world had to offer was not entertaining him. He controlled his frustration however and just kept moving forward. When he finally heard some rustling, it drew his attention, The sound was too loud to just be a creature of the woods, so he pulled the reigns towards the left and followed the sound. It did not take long for him to witness the source of it. A man was lying there, his leg full of blood and an extremely pained expression on his face. Vaughn dismounted from his horse, looking around to see what had caused such an injury: a group of few men. They were clearly bandits who were robbing this man and would most likely kill him.
When they saw Vaughn approach, they all drew their weapons and took a very defensive stance, watching his every move. The wounded man looked relieved to see a man clad as a knight, but his luck was not so fortunate for Vaughn was certainly no knight in shining armour. Only one of the bandits actually charged at Vaughn and in one swift motion, he sliced the man’s chest before gracefully putting the two swords back in the sheaths. It was like one drawn out motion, yet quickly performed. He then looked back at the surviving bandits, who were watching him with a mix of anger and fear. A sinister smile formed on Vaughn’s lips, as each and every person present was watching him intently, waiting for his next move. “Carry on,” Vaughn told them in a clearly amused voice. Vaughn did not have to look at the injured man to know that he was shocked by the words. It was far more amusing to see the shocked expressions in the attackers’ faces. A knight allowing such a horrific crime to take place. Vaughn enjoyed disproving the misconceptions that one formed when regarding his uniform.
To further prove he was not kidding, he went back to his horse and mounted on it, giving everyone a short nod of acknowledgment. This was not his battle. He did not know this man. He would not protect him from whatever trouble he had gotten himself into. Vaughn did not kill without purpose, and this would be useless. Why would he kill five men to save one? It was not worth it. And so, Vaughn rode off into the darkness of the woods, while he heard one final agonizing cry of terror as the bandits complied with Vaughn’s only two words he had spoken.
